QuestionHow is this camera powered? battery? and can i rotate it remotelyJust two questions - How is it powered? by battery OR wired? And will I be able to rotate the field of view remotely?

- Answer No Batteries; It requires household AC-line power; it has a small block transformer that plugs into a regular outlet, and has about a 6-ft long connection to the terminal power connector that plugs into the camera; much like a portable radio might have. Also, this model has no pan/tilt/zoom capability; it sees what it sees, based on where you place it - the only way to change the view is to just physically move the camera (with your human-hands).

- Answer We thank you for your feedback as we do appreciate your questions and comments. Please note the DCS-933L has the capability to setup and forward to your email video snapshots triggered by motion and or sound detection and these snapshots will be emailed directly to the email address you have configured. In addition you have the ability to mount the DCS-933L someplace that my be out of reach or inconspicuous to an intruder and have the triggered video clips and or snapshots sent to a secured FTP server located offsite or in a hidden location to that you may be able to access and retrieve those video or snapshot files from that server anytime. QuestionCan you see at night thru a window with this camera?

- Answer Yes, it will see through a window at night; however the image tends to be degraded by reflections bouncing off the inside of the window. I have mine set up to shoot through a window; the window-blinds are behind (more 'inside') the camera; but at night, the inside lights cause the image of the blinds to be reflected off the inside-face of the window, and back into the camera lens, making the image somewhat noisy. Clean the window real well; and the more 'straight-on' (90 degrees/right-angle) you can point the camera at the window, the better. The more slanted it is, the more reflection you will get.

- Answer Yes, you would need an Internet browser that can run Java and/or the MyDLink Lite app on your smart phone. Note, however, there are limitations on what you can "control," remotely. Since the product does not have tilt/pan functionality your image is static. That said, with the 1150 you can turn sound on/off, take a picture, switch between day/night/auto mode, turn sound detection on/off, turn motion detection on/off, and turn extender mode on/off.

Questionrecordingdoes this record? do I have to connect to Ethernet/Wi-Fi/ or computer or phone? I want something that records only when movement is detected and that I can review later. snapshots are sufficient I also want this to either be outside and transmit via wireless to device inside or be able to detect and record through the window

- Answer They have a program on their web site that you can download that allows you to record to that computer using whatever parameters you tell it. Easy to set up, just make sure you write down the user name and password you set the camera up with. You can view live thru a smartphone or iPad from anywhere. You need a wireless network to run the camera, or you can hook it up via Ethernet.

QuestionCan you view a live feed online and is there a lag time if live? Does it motion sense and notify you online? I want to see who enters our front office door down the hall but it'll be useless if there's a lag or if you must constantly watch the feed.

- Answer This lag time is about 1/2 a second. The notifications come quickly and I am able to go right to the camera from the notification and see what is happening. For me I was surprised and impressed.

- Answer If your camera is connected to your modem or router by a cable, then you do not need Wi-Fi at home.. to see it on mobile device. Just need the internet connection.

- Answer When I open the mydlink lite app on my smartphone the app signs in and then must connect to the wifi. Not sure how long it stay connected, if I use the app again in a few minutes it is still connected as the site does not sign in. It will sign in again if I don't use the app for a half hour or so, therefore it must not be on constantly.

- Answer It should work as long as you can make a WPS connection with the camera and the router. The barcode square provided does not help at all you have to select your camera from a list and then connect it manually.

- Answer No, this does not have continuous recording. It records 8 seconds when there is motion. If you want to continuously record, download a screen recorder, then you can sign into your mydink.com account on your computer and let it record.
