- Answer Hello. Without knowing which make and model speaker you have, it is not possible to be sure. The wattage rating of a speaker is often just the manufacturer saying 'for use with an amplifier rated at no higher than 150 watts RMS'. The AVR-X1800H can drive a wide range of speakers, but there are a number of factors to consider with any amplifier/speaker pairing, including speaker sensitivity rating, impedance, room size, how loud you may want to take the volume levels - to name a few.

- Answer Hello. Yes - the AVR-X1800H supports VRR, as well as resolutions up to and including 8K. This means it also supports 1440p.

- Answer Hello! The Denon AVR-X1800H is primarily designed for home theater applications. However, it can also be used for music playback without being plugged into a television set. It's worth noting that a monitor is still required for initial setup. If you are only looking to connect a pair of speakers for music playback, we recommend considering the Denon PMA-900HNE integrated amplifier. Unlike the AVR-X1800H, a monitor is not required for setup with the PMA-900HNE. Additionally, like the AVR-X1800H, it comes with music streaming features to enhance your listening experience.

QuestionDoes this unit support an independent Zone 2 with wired speakers and with different audio than Main zone

- Answer According to the a/v professional that set mine up yes. Right now it’s set up in my livingroom with surround sound. He said I could wire 2 more speakers to a bedroom or my back porch. That way someone could watch tv or a movie and those outside could listen to music. Also can play music off my phone through the receiver.

- Answer Hello. The 8K HDMI inputs on the rear panel of the AVR-X1800H are equally welcoming of non-8K HDMI feeds too.

QuestionDoes this have an HD-Radio tuner (CD quality broadcast, station names, artist and song names)? It comes up when I filter for HD-Radio Tuner, but I can't find it. Is it incorrectly tagged by Best Buy as having one, but it really doesn't?

QuestionCan the receiver be place inside a cabinet with doors and still work at it's best (receive and transmit) without sitting on top of the cabinet to work at it best with wireless speakers.

- Answer Thank you for your question—a couple of things to consider. First is heat. We recommend a minimum of 6 inches of ventilation space above and 2 inches on either side of your AVR. This will reduce the unit's overheating risk when playing at a high-volume output level. Second, all main speakers must be connected to the receiver using speaker wire. For multi-room audio, Wireless Denon Home Speakers (HEOS) use Wi-Fi. Placing the receiver in a cabinet may weaken the Wi-Fi signal depending on where the wireless router is placed.

QuestionUnder what conditions will the AVR-X1800H supply power to its USB rear port, one that is used for 7.5 watt (5V/1.5 amp) power only?

- Answer Hello Greg. The AVR-X1800H's rear panel USB port is for powering devices. It is recommended to use a device’s supplied AC adapter when a power supply of 5 V/1.5 A or more is required. Connect to the USB port on the front panel to play content from a USB memory device such as a Thumb Drive. Be sure to format the USB Thumb Drive to FAT32 or NTFS prior to adding music files to your Thumb Drive.

QuestionBefore I purchased this AVR, I asked if it supported 1440p and Denon said yes. Now that I have it installed, my PS5 says 1440p is unsupported. Please advise. Thank you

- Answer Hello. I can confirm the AVR-X1800H supports 1440p. I suggest checking the video output setting in your PS5 and the AVR-X1800H Receiver. The receiver's video out settings should be set to 8K Enhanced. Also, ensure you use an Ultra High-Speed HDMI cable from a reputable video cable manufacturer. If in doubt, it is recommended to speak with a Best Buy A/V specialist for more details.
