- Answer Hi Jared, Yes, the EcoTank ET-2800 can do voice-activated, hands-free printing using Alexa, Siri, and Google Assistant. You can also use AirPrint to print or scan to your Apple device. QuestionI hate the gHp smart because it Constantly needs me to update the drivers every time I go to use it. It charges me for scanning counts it as copies and I have a ton of ink that I don’t need and they charge me based on how many copies. Is it better?

- Answer No because after so many prints the software will not allow you to use the printer anymore even though it still is capable of printing just fine This has been happening to everyone and Epson will tell you to buy a new printer

- Answer Hello Mimi. The ET-2800 uses ink-jet printer technology. Different variables can cause the ink to dry, such as the printer sitting idle with no usage for periods at a time. QuestionCan you print in black/white only in case you run out of color ink.

- Answer Hello Miss. The ET-2800 can print in monochrome or grayscale. Unfortunately, the printer cannot print in black ink only when the color runs out. When selecting the monochrome or grayscale option, the printer could still use color ink because a mixture of color inks is used to create black. Regards, Kevin - The Epson Team.

- Answer This is the reason why I decided to replace my old printer with this one. The ink jets would dry up after one use if I didn't use it for a month or two. The ink reservoirs on the Epson Eco-Tank are quite big and hold a lot of ink compared to the ink jets so they don't dry up like the ink jets.

QuestionDoes this printer have an input tray? I can’t find it and I really don’t like that it has to print from the rear tray and it always ask me if I want to print from the rear but that’s my only option, right?

QuestionCan I connect 2 ET-2850 printers to the same wifi network? How can I differentiate between the 2 when printing from a computer? And will they lose their IP Addresses if the wifi network goes down?

- Answer Yes, you can have 2 printers on the same network. They would each receive their own IP address. You can change the printer name in printer settings to better differentiate between the printers. By default i would assume the second printer install would add a number at the end of the printer name. You may be able to change the printer name during setup.

QuestionHow often does the inkpad have to be replaced on ecotank 2800?

- Answer If you have issues and have to do a lot cleanings the pads will fill quicker and forbid you have to run a powerwash it does not last a lifetime. Everyones experience is difference, speaking from experience troubleshoot and troubleshoot some more before doing even thinking about doing powerwash these inkpads cant handle it, they do warn you. Did not buy mine from BestBuy but tons of videos out there for all models.

Since it is an ink-jet printer, we do recommend printing out a print-head test page every few days to ensure everything is working properly. QuestionDoes this have pigment or dye based ink? How about the 2760 & 2850? Prefer pigment ink for fade & water resistance, plus better for printing on transparencies. But if this is dye, how will it hold up in these ways? Thanks!

- Answer It uses the same dye based on as the 2720, Epson 522. The 2760 and 2850 use 502 ink which is pigment black with dye based colors. Epson has a section of their site for SDS on all of their inks.
