QuestionIf I leave the printer turned of for six months, will it still work when I turn it back on? Is there a self-care maintenance mode that will run itself when I am not home during this time away?. I cannot service the heads on my 2760 when left off.

- Answer Yes the printer will still work. There is no self care mode, but there is a maintenence section in the printer menu. You are also able to clean the printer nozzles in the menu.

Questionwhat do I do when the printer won't print Yellow?

- Answer Run the nozzle clean cycle, then do a test print sheet. You may need to do that several times. Make sure to use only Epson ink, it really makes a difference and this unit ink tanks last so long it is not a big cost.

QuestionWhen printing where does the paper load from? Is there a tray in the back like with some of the lower end models? Or does it load from that tray on the bottom? Or is that bottom tray just for storage of paper?

QuestionI'm finding when I print 8.5 x.11 multiple page documents (say 15 pages), the output tray because it has tabs that stick up in the front--the pages don't lay flat and instead it pushes them out onto the floor. Any solution for this?

QuestionCan you print onto cardstock with the Epson 4850

- Answer Yes, I have been able to print on card stock by placing the heavy stock in the paper tray. The color comes out beautifully. I print picture games for kids.

QuestionDoes the Epson ET 3850 handle card stock?

- Answer Hello marilyn. The thickest paper the ET-3850/4850 can print on is Epson Premium Photo Paper Glossy which weighs 79 lb. Cardstock is supported, and we have tested similar Epson paper that weighs around 44 lb. These recommendations are for Epson paper only, you can try a cardstock that falls between that range, but your results can vary when using other brands and heavier paper. QuestionWhat type of black ink is suppled with the ET-4850 - i.e. pigment ink or photo black ink? Also,is it true/fact one needs to choose to use only pigment black or photo black ink from the start with the EcoTank printers otherwise there may be problems?

- Answer Hello Jim. It should be very straightforward. You can follow the on-screen instructions on the control panel to set up your printer. After that, download the Epson Smart Panel app from the Apple App Store. Make sure that your printer and phone are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. QuestionIs this printer compatible with the Eero router for wireless printing?

- Answer Hello. The ET-4850 is designed to work on a home Wi-Fi router using a 2.4 GHz band. If the Eero Wi-Fi router you use is a 5 GHz router there could be a conflict. QuestionMy two-sided option is greyed out. I have searched everywhere to figure out how to turn it on. The Epson online info isn't helpful. How do I turn it on!

- Answer Hi Carolyn, There are settings in your ET-4850's printer driver that are not compatible with two-sided printing. Try setting the paper size to Letter and the paper type to plain. Two-sided printing will be available. Two-sided printing is not available for small sizes, such as 4" x 6" or photo and photo matte paper types. Regards, Mark - The Epson Team.

QuestionDoes it update firmware wirelessly, and without a CD as the new Studio Mac does not have a drive to load a disc? My Epson 860 will update software and drivers wirelessly, but not firmware, which I can only update with a cable connection.

QuestionI recently purchased this printer to use for sticker paper. But on my matte paper, the colors are completely off, mainly when using skin tone type colors? I have tried every setting and have not been able to match the color? Is there a way to fix this?

QuestionI'm looking at both the Eco Tank photo ET-8500 and ET-4850 : noticed one has 3 colors instead of 6. I print up to 8" x 10" and smaller prints. like a high quality photo, will I be unhappy with the 3 color printer. Also want blk & Wht text on normal paper

- Answer Hello Leslie. The ET-4850 and ET-8500 can deliver impressive print quality. The ET-8500 will be a better option if you're looking to print photos because, as you said, it has more colors. Questionis this a laserjet or an ink jet printer?

- Answer Ink jet. It only takes liquid ink bottles, not toners like laser printers do, but I found it to be really easy to fill the ink containers. So far the ink has been pretty good, but will sometimes needs an adjustment. I have not used it on hard printing jobs like the Epson 8700 that I loved, but sadly, errored out after the 2 year warranty with a "moisture" problem, even though I disconnected those sensors.
