A:AnswerHi Kat, thanks for reaching out to us! We truly appreciate your interest in this fantastic top-freezer refrigerator and are happy to answer this question for you. Our garage-ready refrigerators are specially designed for use in a garage environment and have been extensively tested and proven to perform in ambient temperatures from 38°F to 110°F. They provide you with flexibility in location and are a great option for more extreme climates! These refrigerators can be identified by the "Dual Temp Control" option on the freezer air tower, which allows you to adjust the refrigerator and freezer controls during peak temperature swings to ensure the compressor operates frequently enough to keep stored food at safe temperatures. While this specific refrigerator is not a garage-ready model, we do offer a comparable refrigerator, model GTS19KGNRWW, that is! A:AnswerHello Carol - Thank you for reaching out about this excellent refrigerator. We are always happy to help.
The drawers can be accessed by opening the doors to 90 degrees. However, in order to remove the drawers for cleaning, the doors will need to open farther, by about 16".
We hope this helps. Keep in touch! - JB

Rest assured, this is an intentional design and it will not affect the compressor's performance or effectiveness. We hope this helps! Be well, Kelsey@GEA

A:AnswerHi Kim- Yes, the refrigerator doors are "true" stainless steel. Also, we recommend 1" air clearance on each side, 4" top and 3" back. If all clearances are met except for only bottom half of one side this should be fine. A:AnswerHey there and thanks for choosing GE Appliances for your home. It’s normal for the tops and sides of the unit to be warm or hot to the touch. Part of the process of cooling the refrigerator is pulling heat to the outside of the unit to help with condensation buildup. Additionally, heat is applied to the edge of the door frame and between the doors to reduce condensation buildup during humid days. Please ensure you have an inch of space around the case to allow airflow. Let us know if you have any additional questions and we’ll be glad to answer. -Gina@GEA
