QuestionIf I set the temperature at 64, why does it start at 75, and slowly go down? It actually never reaches 64, it seems to stop around 71 o 72. Shouldn't it work at the temperature I set it for?

- Answer It’s the room temp in your room when it starts if u have it on eco save button it will turn it off and come on when the room temp hits that amount and cool down to the temp u set it at.

- Answer Hi MWe - Thanks for viewing GE Model AHP05LZ! The air conditioner should always be plugged into its own individual electrical outlet which has a voltage rating that matches the rating plate. This provides the best performance and also prevents overloading house wiring circuits which could cause a fire hazard from overheated wires. - Answer Yes you can. We had a screw fall into the unit upon installing it and we unscrewed the unit to get it out. Put it back together with ease.

It comes with an installation kit for installation in a standard double-hung window. QuestionI just put in the a/c's 2 weeks ago and the red filter button is going on?.... Where is the filter? How do I take it out and rinse it off? I guess that is what it wants? Why is the red button on?

- Answer Hi Tom - Thanks for reaching out to us and for choosing GE! The filter indicator light will come on after 240 hours of operation to remind you to clean the filter. The air filter behind the front grille should be checked and cleaned at least every 30 days or more often if necessary. Slide the filter from the left side of the unit and clean with warm, soapy water. Rinse and let the filter dry before replacing it.
