A:AnswerHi- This is Sue at GE Appliances. Yes, many automatic defrost refrigerators have a NeverClean Condenser. The condenser coils are located in the compressor housing instead of on the back, keeping them clean and functioning optimally. This design allows for more efficient airflow. The coils will not require cleaning under normal conditions. Thanks for checking with us. Enjoy!
A:AnswerHello - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and I am happy to help you. The GE side-by-side refrigerator should produce about 4.5 pounds or 130 cubes per day. The bucket will hold approximately 8 pounds of ice. If your refrigerator is not producing this, then we recommend checking the following: 1) make certain the water filter is not clogged; 2) make certain the freezer temperature is not too warm; 3) If there is very little food, or no food, in the refrigerator or freezer sections, this can cause temperatures to significantly fluctuate; 4) Check that there is no restriction in the water supply and if so, please contact a plumber. Otherwise, we recommend contacting GE Consumer Service at 1.800.432.2737, Mon. - Fri., 7:00 am to 10:00 pm, and Sat. - Sun., 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, EST. You may also schedule service online at: http://www.geappliances.com/service_and_support/service/ I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!
A:AnswerHi Ralph - These models are actually the same. When the model is manufactured, the extra letter (K) is placed on the appliance rating plate and product registration card. This letter is used to identify manufacturing specific data when the appliance is made. Should service or parts be needed, this is used as an identifier for the specific appliance. Thanks for choosing GE! Enjoy - Sue
A:AnswerHi P - Thanks for reaching out to us. We are sorry to hear of this unfortunate experience and want to help. First, check the controls. We suggest factory settings: 0F Freezer; 37 Refrigerator. Reset the electronics by unplugging or by turning off power at the circuit breaker for 30 seconds or so and then adjust to factory settings. See page 5 of Owner's Manual: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-60646-6.PDF - Freezing can be caused by a low food load. Foods are needed to absorb the cold air. We suggest to view the following troubleshooting link- SXS REFRIGERATOR TOO COLD, FREEZING FOOD: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=20492 - A qualified service technician is required for an accurate diagnosis. A:AnswerHi Nazek- Thanks for reaching out to us and for choosing GE. We are happy to provide assistance. We suggest to view the following link for tips on measuring refrigerator internal temperatures: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=19479 - Be sure not to block the air duct on the back wall above the top shelf of the refrigerator. A good food load will help to stabilize temperatures (1/2 to 3/4 full). Adjust the temperature control to a colder setting. This causes the refrigerator to run longer, which in turn will let the air circulate more. View REFRIGERATOR NOT COOLING ENOUGH: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=21185 - If you need further assistance, a qualified service technician is required for an accurate diagnosis. A:AnswerHi godi - Thanks for choosing GE! We hope your enjoying the smudge-proof Slate finish. Replace filter is MWFP (XWF on select models manufactured after June 2018). Check the part number on the filter included with your refrigerator or view HOW TO DETERMINE THE AGE OR MANUFACTURE DATE OF A GE APPLIANCE: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=16195 - The filter replacement instructions are provided on pages 8-9 of the Owner's Manual at the following link: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-60646-6.PDF - After filter replacement, press and hold the Water Filter pad on the dispenser for 3 seconds. A:AnswerHi Brownie- Thanks for choosing GE. We are happy to provide assistance. The icemaker will make a buzzing sound when it's trying to fill with water. This will last a few seconds and not continue for 30-45 minutes. The new high efficiency compressor may run faster and longer than your old refrigerator and you may hear a high-pitched hum or pulsating sound while it is operating. We suggest to view "normal operating sounds" you may hear on page 30 of the Owner's Manual at the following link: http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-60646-5.pdf - Any other sounds may require a qualified service technician for diagnosis. You can contact GE Appliance Service at 1-800-432-2737 for assistance or conveniently schedule an appointment online: http://www.geappliances.com/service_and_support/service/ - Keep in touch! SUE@GEA
A:AnswerHi - GE Side-by-Side refrigerators have a water reservoir in the fresh food section. The water is stored and chilled in either a storage tank or coil tubing until it is needed. Since the reservoir is in the fresh food section, the water is chilled but will not be ice-cold.
