A:AnswerHi -Thanks for considering GE! Yes, if the bucket is full or missing, an alarm will sound for 10 seconds to let you know it's time to empty and replace the bucket. Keep in touch! Sue
A:AnswerThe unit fan does not run continuously. It only operates when the unit is actively removing moisture from the area.
On a side note, last week we had massive rain and the basement flooded with several inches of water. Once it was drained the humidifier was turned back on and dried up the floor within 48 hours. It works great!
A:AnswerThe hose connection will accept the standard hose connection. As the actual water flow out of the unit is very slow the diameter is not an issue. A half inch size hose, or smaller, will work just fine.
A:AnswerHello,
Thank you for reaching out to us at GE Appliances. We are happy to hear of your interest in this amazing dehumidifier. This is a great question and we are here to help. This model does not have a drain pump option but, it does have a drain hose option. Dehumidifiers have a drain connection which can be connected to a standard garden hose (not included). This allows collected water to continuously drain to a floor drain. The unit drains by gravity, so the hose needs to be laying flat on the ground and should be cut to the shortest length possible.
To use: Remove the bucket from the front of the unit. Open the drain cover on the back of the unit.
Thread a standard garden hose onto the drain nozzle. Cut the hose to length and lead it to the floor drain. We hope this helps, feel free to reach out again with any other questions you may have. Have a great day!-Avery@GEA
A:AnswerPull out the water collection drawer in the front. Now feel up under the lip of the front panel and you will find the filter. It is thin and sits right behind the front panel. Pull it down to remove. Rinse under water until clear, air dry and replace by pushing it up into place. Put the water collection drawer back in tightly or else the machine will not run.
A:AnswerSounds like either the device is not set to a low enough level, the humidity in the room is already very low or the room is too big for the device to handle. Just guessing here. If none of these apply I would contact GE to troubleshoot.
A:AnswerThank you for reaching out to us! This dehumidifier is rated at 115 V, 60hz, and 770 Watts. Additionally, the amount of power this unit will use per hour depends on the humidity of the space as well as how often the unit needs to activate in order to maintain the desired humidity level. We hope this information helps, and if you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact us! Best regards – Matthew@GEA
A:AnswerHello - We appreciate your interest in our dehumidifier and would love to help you. Our dehumidifiers have a 72" power cord with a 3-prong plug. Do not use an extension cord or plug the unit into a surge protector or multi-outlet adapter. We hope you find this response insightful! Have a beautiful day. -Shayla@GEA
