A:AnswerHello. Thanks for reaching out! GE Appliances products are designed by GE Appliances engineers in the United States. Many are manufactured in the U.S. and others are made globally to our specifications. The country of origin is shown on the Model/Serial rating plate as well as the packaging. Manufacturing facilities (plant sites, where appliances are made) can and do change from time to time because GE Appliances continues to seek the most efficient manufacturing processes available. We make products all over the world for a Global marketplace. Therefore, your best source for manufacturing location is the packaging/product itself. We hope this helps.- Kianna@GEA
A:AnswerI just received the part #24 called a shutter shipped to me from GE as I stated above. This shutter is much too large and does not fit on the back of this unit so I am retracting my comment since GEs representative must have been mistaken and sent part #24, the shutter for a different item, although the schematics clearly indicate a cover/ shutter for the back opening of this freezer.
A:AnswerHi Debee- Allow 3" clearance on sides and back of freezer. The rear of the unit near the compressor has an opening with no cover, this is normal. To obtain efficient operation, a freezer should be placed in a dry, well ventilated room where the surrounding external temperatures will not exceed 110 degrees F. or fall below 0 degrees F. Thanks for choosing GE!
