A:AnswerThis is just a sensor & does not offer independent zone control. You can use multiples to sense room temps and even have primary Nest thermostat use a sensor as the reference point for system on/off, heat/cool. But the sensors themselves do not offer any independent control, only the primary Nest thermostat wired into the heat source would offer system control.
A:AnswerThe Nest Sensor uses Bluetooth to communicate to the thermostat, and it has a reported max range of 15m (about 50ft). Your situation seems be too far for this unit to operate.
A:AnswerYes, you can login to the Nest app and tap on the thermostat, where it will show you the main thermostat temp and temperature from all connected remote thermostats.
A:AnswerI think you need the Nest because they link and talk to each other. Alexa doesn't live in my household but Nest does work with Google Assistant.
A:AnswerI would suspect that it would work as long as your heating unit works with the Nest Thermostat. The sensor only relays the ambient temperature of the room back to the Nest thermostat, so the heating source should make little difference.
A:AnswerNest Sensor will allow you to detect temperature differences in different rooms in the house. If you have large swings in temperature from room to room these sensors in conjunction with the nest thermostat can help maintain the temperature in rooms that you deem important at different times of the day.
A:AnswerThis will make your air conditioner work as hard as needed to cool the room it’s in. If your bedroom is running hot, then it will make it work harder. You can set a schedule for when your in the bedroom to help minimize the energy used though. We like ours
A:AnswerI would say yes. It's just a remote sensor that you can prioritize to turn your heat/AC/both on/off to get that exact sensor to the temperature you want it to be. You can also set a basic priority schedule between your main nest thermostat and this remote sensor so that it heats/cools according to whichever sensor is prioritized. Great if you don't have a zoned heating/cooling system and, for example, want your bedroom to be a better temperature at night. That's basically what I bought this for and it does just that.
