Q: QuestionWhat ink cartridge do you purchase for this printer
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer This printer uses Ink Bottles, Not Ink Cartridges. I have been told that the ink bottles last a Lot Longer, which would be great dollar-wise. BUT, I found this Smart Tank bottled type of ink to be sub-quality compared to OfficeJet cartridge ink. This bottled ink took a lot longer to dry, and therefore smeared to some degree with each of the 15 photos that I printed. It also produced an "Exaggerated" vs. Natural quality of printed ink when printing color photos vs. black ink documents were fine.

Q: QuestionHow well does it print photos
Asked by Gunbuny.
- A:Answer I found this type of Smart Tank bottled ink to be inferior to Office Jet Pro cartridge ink. The color was somewhat exaggerated - too Vivid - compared to cartridge ink. The photos were not the "natural" quality vs. this printer's color ink was too vivid, and also smeared easily.

Q: QuestionWhat do I do to order the free refill ink for my smart tank hp 6001 printer?
Asked by Wristbands.
- A:Answer Thank you for your question about this HP Smart Tank printer! Since it does not qualify for any ink subscription service, there is no free refill for it. The ink is in bottles that are used to load the tanks and the bottles will print up to thousands of pages. The 2 years mentioned is based on 200 to 300 pages per month of printing.
