No, this is manual clean.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It is supposed to be self cleaning. It's why we went with this one.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We have this model and after some years it seemed to be lagging in performance. Pulling out the lower rack I could see material had built up on the grating of the drain at the bottom. Most of this I was able to pull out with tweezers, but I could see more through the grating holes that I could not reach. After days of frustration searching on line and an hour of exasperating effort trying to remove the plastic piece that includes the drain grating, I finally found a Kitchenaid site that stated flatly that it could not be opened and there wasn't any filter to be cleaned. So, back to tweezers and probes to remove as much as I could reach, but getting in under that drain grating is essentially impossible without a major dismantling, in spite of the fact that piece with the drain grating can be easily loosened to be lifted off by taking out two screws. I am skeptical about the "self cleaning filter." If that is the case, why did so much debris accumulate? And if debris can accumulate, why is there no provision for reasonably easy removal of the plastic piece that includes the drain grating to access the underside of it for cleaning?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It used to. The new model doesn't. Best Buy just reused the link from the old model so it kept the reviews from the model that had the feature.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I check with Kitchenaid and chatted with BB - the model has a self-cleaning microfilter. The info on the BB website is incorrect but should be corrected soon.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Kitchenaid website states this model has the Clean Water Wash System with the self-cleaning filter. Plan to call them.
