- Answer Yes, the data rates required for these updates is miniscule relative to 1 Gbps which is likely equal to or higher than your internet bandwidth available.

- Answer Yes but will be limited to 1 Gbps speed meaning that the switch is a bottleneck relative the CAT 8 cable capable of 40Gbps or so. It is unlikely you will find any application requiring anywhere near even 1 Gbps aside from large offline file transfer, and even then 1 Gbps is very fast.

- Answer 1. the main difference between the ProSafe GS116 and the GS116v2 is that the V2 version supports Jumbo Frame 2. if it is 512KB Buffer Memory, it would be per port. 3. the differences between the GS116 and the GS116E is that on the GS116E you can configure VLANs, QoS, Bandwidth Control, etc...
