QuestionHi. I bought the rig 500 after my amazing experience with the gamecom 788. What i was disappointed to find out is that the surround on the rig500 doesn' nearly compare to that on the gamecom 788. Have i done something wrong in the setup or is it just bad?

- Answer Hi ZaYp3r, The old Plantronics Gamecom 788 had Dolby 7.1 surround sound. The new Nacon RIG 500 PRO HX has Dolby Atmos 3D surround sound where not only are the sounds in front, to the side, and behind you in a flat audio surround-sound plain like the Dolby 7.1 but also above and below you for a more fully immersive experience. Dolby Atmos is the newest in 3D surround sound technology. The RIG 500 PRO HX includes a Dolby Atmos 2-year subscription code in the box. To redeem that code on XBox Live, you need to go to the XBox store, into Games, and Use A Code. If using this headset on a Windows 10 PC, launch the Microsoft store, select Account Menu, and Redeem A Code. Download code is valid for a single activation on one device only. QuestionWhat KIND of fabric is in the 'dual fabric' ear cushions? I am sensitive to latex and have had headsets that I can not wear without some sort of hat in between my skin and the ear cushions. Would like to avoid that.

QuestionApproximately how long is the cable attached to the headset?

- Answer The headset audio cable included with the RIG 500 PROHX is approximately 50 inches long. One end plugs into the back of the left earcup of the headset and the other end terminates into the 3.5mm plug with RIG audio dial. The sleeve in place on the RIG audio dial out-of-box is for XBox controllers. A separate sleeve for PS4/PS5 controllers is included. If gaming from a non-controller source like a PC with a 3.5mm single audio port, then you simply remove the sleeve from the RIG audio dial. Thanks for your consideration of RIG Gaming products!

QuestionCan i plug in a wireless adapter to this headset and still have it work on my Xbox?

- Answer The RIG 500 PRO HX has an audio cable that plugs into the XBox controller for gaming audio. If you instead plug it into a wireless adapter, the audio signal will flow through that adapter to whatever it's connected to. If you were to connnect a Bluetooth wireless receiver into the USB port on your XBox and plug your headset into a Bluetooth transmitter, you could potentially get game audio over Bluetooth. But two challenges with this. Bluetooth often doesn't allow for both game and chat audio over the same channel. Also, Bluetooth has latency so the audio may not match up to game play visuals. Your best bet, if you want wireless, is to look for the RIG 800LX for XBox for a true wireless experience over 2.4GHz RF wireless connection that is lag-free, enables 24 hours of wireless play time and has amazing audio quality.

QuestionSo I have an Pro Elite series one Xbox One controller but my rig 500 headset won't plug in to the headphones adapter I can use other headsets with this controller but not my rig 500 headset are they only compatible with certain controllers

- Answer Hi Hossman, As long as you are using the correct audio dial rubber sleeve on the tip, there is one for PS4/PS5 and one for Xbox included with RIG 500 Pro HX, then it should fit perfectly fine. In fact, this headset has been tested with that particular controller. - Answer Hi Broken, Please make sure you are using the proper RIG audio dial sleeve for the XBox controllers for full insertion into the 3.5mm audio port on your XBox or PS4/5 controller. XBox is the rubber sleeve with the extended curve part at the bottom. PS4/PS5 has the rubber sleeve with the extended part at the top. For PC gaming, remove the rubber sleeve. And make sure the audio cable is fullly inserted on the headset speaker end. If that doesn't resolve the issue, and if the unit is within the 1 year warranty period, then please contact RIG Customer Support via email at [email protected] for warranty service. Thanks.

QuestionJust picked up the Rig 500 pro headset and the maximum volume is absolutely atrociously low. What can I do to mitigate this besides (turn the knob all the way to the right) because that's what I already did of course.

- Answer Are you plugging in directly to the controller? If so, buy a headset adapter. Have no issues with volume being too low. I have the turtle beach plus one and it works amazing with my RIG 500.

QuestionHello, So I can hear my friends and the game on the headset fine but when it comes to talking over the mic it won’t work. I went into settings and made sure the mic was on and everything is updated still not working. What should I do?

- Answer Hi Jroman, Here are a few things you can try: Check the headset cable connection by ensuring the 3.5MM plug is pressed all the way into the connector on your controller. Applying additional pressure until you hear a “click” is sometimes needed; Make sure the cable is plugged all the way in on the headphone end as well; Make sure the microphone boom is connected properly to your headset by, first, removing it and, then, reinserting it into the earcup. Make sure the orientation of the base of the boom is correct and the 3.5MM plug is pressed all the way into the connector on the earcup; Check that the microphone boom tip is facing your mouth and not twisted. Refer to your user guide and product images for proper orientation; Try using the headset to make a phone call or voice recording on any device compatible with a 3.5MM corded headset; Check the settings on your console and make sure audio is set to headset, and check your game chat balance on the console audio settings. - Answer Dude, just plug it into your controller and then go into your audio settings and there will be an option to turn on or off the mic. If it's already off, then just switch it back on.

QuestionI recently purchased this Headset with intention of using on xbox & playstation consoles. I hear the sound of the games perfectly fine, as do I hear friends speaking clearly; they however, cannot hear me.... only very faintly. Please help

- Answer RIG 500 PRO includes a RIG audio dial cable. That cable terminates in a 3.5mm/4-pin audio plug. It should work great on your PC but there are several things you may need do to ensure it works well: 1) If your PC has a single port for headphones, you are all set; If your PC has a separate port for speaker and microphone, you will need to purchase a 3.5mm audio splitter - sold separately by Best Buy. 2) Remove the RIG audio dial sleeve (RIG 500 PRO HX has the XBox sleeve pre-installed and the RIG 500 PRO HS has teh PS4 sleeve pre-installed). 3) Turn the RIG audio dial volume knob fully clockwise until it locks into max volume; then use the volume on your PC to adjust headphone volume. QuestionWhen using on a laptop my audio is switched. Sounds that should be on the right are on the left and viceversa. Is there a way to fix this?

- Answer Hi Guy, There are a lot of things that can happen on a laptop. Some brands don’t use the standard headphone pin configuration. We would suggest these steps: 1. Make sure the headset jack is pushed in all the way until there is a click. And, vice-versa, pull it out a little. If pins are offset on the jack form the laptop, this may help. 2. Check the Windows audio driver and reinstall. Some, like Realtek allow you to swap left and right channels. See the Microsoft online forum for more info under "how to swap left and right audio channels". There is also actually software one can download to swap the channels. This software is typically used when the media/game audio has the channels swapped for some odd reason. Some good videos on youtube on this topic. - Answer The jack the plugs into the controller is actually a knob. Turn the silver piece all the way to the right. There will be a slight click. That is the volume knob. Adjust it as needed.

QuestionI have been using this headset for a while and it has worked perfectly, but recently the mic has been very quiet and it doesn’t work unless I yell into it. I have plugged in other mics to it and it works fine. I just want to know what’s wrong with it!

- Answer Hi Help, Unfortunatly plugging other non-RIG microphones into the RIG 500 PRO HX may have caused damage to the microphone port. Let's hope not. And since you tested other mics and they seem to work, then it sounds like you just need a mic replacement., as long as there is no damage to the microphone port. The headset has a one year warranty against manufacturer defects so we can replace that for you if that's the case. - Answer Hi Jose, Yes, the RIG 500 PRO HX will work on your PS4 with one caveat. The Dolby Atmos, code included in box, will only work on XBox or PCs operating on Windows 10. PS4 does not yet support Dolby Atmos surround sound. The RIG 500 PRO HX comes with the XBox controller sleeve pre-installed on the RIG audio dial cable. The PS4 sleeve is included in the box. You just need to switch to the PS4 sleeve to plug this into PS4 controllers and you are good to go. You can also use this with a PC with single port for speaker/mic - just remove the RIG audio dial sleeves all together and you are ready to game. - Answer Yes It is! I have A RIG microphone and after just 3 months its broken the audio is awful and I've taken really good care of it. I recommend getting him a Logitech microphone or a Hyper X.
