By default, your device will play incoming sounds, and your microphone will be muted when Live View is activated. Tap the microphone button to speak with visitors. Tap it again to mute yourself. From there you can set the Indoor Cam to start recording when the doorbell picks up motion or someone rings the doorbell. This can be setup the other way as well where the doorbell records when the Indoor Cam detects motion.     • Answer Hi Nate. Thank you for reaching out to us with your question. The Ring Wired Doorbell Pro requires a doorbell transformer rated at 16-24 VAC 50/60HZ, 10-30VA max. Some symptoms of insufficient power include not correctly ringing your existing internal doorbell, regularly losing connection to your wifi network, freezing up or shutting down during the ringtone sound after a button press, regularly shutting off (the white light on the front will turn off), freezing up during a live event, night vision doesn't work, or the doorbell working fine for a couple of events and then stopping working. Check the following in the Ring app: Confirm the Chime Type settings match your in-home chime type. Check that the Ring my in-Home Chime setting is toggled on for doorbells that require hardwiring. Make sure your Ring device is online and other functions are working (i.e., Live View).     • Answer I have a wired ring doorbell on the front door and a battery ring doorbell at the back door! The biggest difference between the two ring door bells is that the front ring door bell doesn’t require any power adjustments after it has been hard wired (it uses the existing wires of the door bell) and the back door ring doorbell which is the battery doorbell! It is required to be recharged ( about once every 1 1/2 to 2 months pending usage ) but is easy to charge the rechargeable battery!

    • Answer The you need to get the Ring Door Bell that has the lithium battery and I would get the chime Pro so when the bell is pressed, your chime will go off too making things louder.

  • QuestionI used 22 gauge wire connected to a 16 30VAC transformer to power my Ring Wired Doorbell Pro 2. So far the Device Health says it is Level 1 and the Ring doorbell seems to be working just fine with the 22 gauge doorbell wires. Should I expect any problems?

We recommend using the Ring Pro Power Kit that is included in the package. The Pro Power Kit ensures that your Ring video doorbell gets the power it needs and must be installed before you install your video doorbell. The AC connector is a Class 2 energy source.
