- Answer I would look for to channel model that offers front and rear cameras. Most have about a 140 degree + viewing area so you may not need side view. F50 is a one channel camera

QuestionManual says "When the dash cam detect motion while parked it will immediately store the previous 10 seconds prior to activation of motion detection start recording video for the next 10 seconds" How does it record 10 seconds prior? Is it always recording

- Answer Yes, its always recording. When it detects something it takes the 10 seconds prior and 10 seconds after and saves it to a separate folder so it doesn't get overwritten by the continuous recording.

QuestionIt looks like this uses an adhesive dash mount. Is that type of mount able to be removed easily and put in another car? Or is it basically best to be mounted and left alone for the most part? Unlike a suction cup mount which can be easily transferred.

- Answer You would need to buy more adhesive mounts if you want to use the unit in more than 1 car.

- Answer No built in GPS but a Thinkware GPS add on is available to plug into the F50 camera next to the record button. Not sure if Best Buy sells it but it is available from Amazon. With the GPS module, you can view your recording with location, speed etc on the side of the recording. Hope this helps.

QuestionWith the F50 dashcam I have the date set to my local time using the drop down list I have then enabled daylight saving as we are currently in daylight saving time The video time stamp is still in normal time (not daylight saving) How can I correct it?

QuestionI bought the F50, and it worked fine for an hour. Now, the red light comes on, and nothing else happens. I like the design, so should I just go and buy another one? There appears to be no reset button.......Sonar

- Answer It is tape for the mount and wiring, but I’ve removed it from my dash to relocate and it came off nice and clean. I just a 1 month old car and was very worried about this as well. I’ve had no issues

Questionwth F50 & pc view software what is highest memory allocation for contiguous recording? I currently have H50 and the highest is 60% of microsSD that can be allocate for contiguous recording. this seems to be a waste of space on the microsd card.

- Answer Depending on which memory partition type you choose, it will allocate more or less 60% of the microSD card storage to continuous mode. - Answer Hi there! The amount of files your dash cam will be able to store is dependent on the MicroSD card used and the dash cam's maximum storage capacity. Questionthinking of buying one. How long is the cord? If it hits bumps, will it stop recording or just saves that one minute and wont overwrite it? i ask since others have commented on it being too sensitive.

- Answer The cord is 4 feet long... Only if you have the cigarette lighter plug in type and no it does not stop recording when you hit a bump if your sensitivity is too high it will record it as a incident if your SD card is small it will rerecord over the incident also keep in mind if you have a small compact car or a stiff suspension your sensitivity has to be at the lowest setting

QuestionHow do i transfer video footage to a "thumb drive"? I recently needed to turn over video footage of a truck fire but was unsuccesful in transferring to a " zip" drive. I had to play on laptop then record with my i-phone. The clarity was not very good.

- Answer Hi Tommy. There are two ways users can save footage onto an external drive. You can first save a copy of the footage on the MicroSD to location on your personal computer (like DeskTop for example) and then copying and pasting into the external drive. Or you can copy and paste footage on the MicroSD directly to an external drive. - Answer The hardwire is extra for around $29. and can be purchased at Best Buy or Amazon. See link attached to this answer. Really don't need it unless you want to record while the car is turned off and parked but battery drain may be an issue. I have tried many dashcams but the Thinkware F50 is by far the best for me. Hope this helps.

- Answer NO. This is the entry level model at this price. You need to buy the higher up models for the ability to add a rear facing camera.

QuestionWhat is the max size sd card you can install on the F50 and how many hours of continuous recording is there. Does the F50 record when the car is off?

- Answer The F50 camera supports up to 64g card (it comes with a 8g card) and it does not record while the car is off. But a hardwire kit is available for $29 where it can record while the car is off. As far as hours of recording, I haven't check but a guess for me would be about 2 weeks on a 64g card depending on usage of course. Hope this helps.

The majority of voice guidance alerts can be eliminated by adjusting the "Volume" setting to "OFF/0" with the PC Viewer software that was designed for users to review footage and change settings.
