Q: QuestionI have very strong 2.4 and 5Ghz WIFI throughout the home. However, I have a few TVs that only connect to 2.4Ghz band that is very noisy in my neighborhood. Can this device be used simply as a 5Ghz to Ethernet "RJ-45" adaptor? Turning off Extender?

• A:Answer I haven't specifically attempted to only leave 5Ghz on by itself but the option to cut off the 2.4Ghz band is available while leaving the 5Ghz on. I have used this device to grab the WIFI and plug directly into a device that was Ethernet only and it worked like a charm is the best that I can confirm.

For optimal results, we recommend installing the adapter in a position within your home where the router's WiFi signal is sufficiently strong; yet far enough from the router to effectively extend its range. Please verify the RE status LED is indicating a solid connection. That being said, your home's physical layout will always play a role in WiFi propagation, whether from a router or WiFi extender.
