• A:Answer Hi - Here's how you can turn off the general mailbox of the CM18445. 1. When the CM18445 is not in use, press the MENU/SELECT button. 2. Press arrow down to scroll to Line mode, then MENU/SELECT. 3. Press arrow down to choose the desired line (Line 1, Line 2, Line 3, Line 4 or All lines), then press MENU/SELECT. 4. Press arrow down to choose No answer, then press MENU/SELECT to confirm. Hope this helps -VTech Support

Q: QuestionWe only have 1 phone line, however, I would like people to be able to leave msgs into 3 different mailboxes based upon the nature of their call. Does this phone system have that capability or do you make a model that does?

• A:Answer Hi - The VTech CM18445 does not have multiple mailboxes. Instead, you can get additional expansion units and use the auto-attendant feature of the system. The said feature will enable callers to choose a specific extension that they would like to reach. Each system extension also has its own mailbox for callers to be able to leave a message. Q: QuestionI have 4 telephone numbers that are through AT & T U-Verse (ie digital) can I use this phone with that service?

• A:Answer I do not like these phone that I bought I have bought 4 of them. When you are using Line 1 and someone call you on Line 2 and you put them both on hold it will cut you off on the call and you will have to call the customer back for some reason. This is not a good product when I transfer line over to answer service for Line 3 and Line 4 it will not switch over it will be Line 1 and Line 2 had to purchase some more phones.

Q: QuestionI have this phone at my shop. I would like to know if it is possible to transfer the calls, from line 1, to my home phone when i am not there? If this is possible how do i do it?

• A:Answer Hi - Caller ID information will not display if auto attendant feature is on. Only the extension selected would show the Caller ID information of the incoming call. Q: QuestionCM18445, re main console mail box. I am unable to change the number of rings before it goes to the general mail box. I tried turning off the answer and that didn't work either. Do you have any other ideas? The system has been expanded to 9 phones

• A:Answer 1. To change the number of rings before the General Mail box answers, Console Main Menu => Ans sys setup => Gen MB setup => Select the No. of Rings you need. 2. To disable the Auto-attendant or General Mail Box from even answering any incoming calls Console Main Menu => Line mode => All lines => Select No answer

Q: QuestionI have a VTech CM18445. I want to connect wirelessly a CM18245 but the screen on the CM18245 says "Out of range OR CS no power". Bought it used so maybe it is registered to a different CM18445. How do I fix the situration.

Q: QuestionIs the CM18245 phone considered a digital phone or analog phone? If we have digital phone lines with Verizon, will the CM18445/18245 model phones work? Does each desk set extension 18245 have to be plugged into an ethernet router?

• A:Answer Ellie - The VTech CM series is a digital phone system. The telephone system works with a digital service as long as it uses an RJ11 or RJ14 telephone line ports. Only the console model CM18445 requires connection to the telephone line, while the CM18245 are registered wirelessly to the console. Thank you, -VTech Support

• A:Answer Hi- The VTech CM18445 does not have a port on the telephone base to connect a fax/printer machine. You can connect the units on different jacks or use a splitter to connect both devices to the telephone line. However, the VTech phone does not have the capability to determine if the incoming call is a fax or a regular call. We recommend to set your fax machine to Fax auto detect. Ideally, the number of rings for the fax machine should be set to a lower value than the number of rings for the answering system with the fax auto detect option active. This way, all types of calls regardless if it is a regular phone call or a fax call will be screened first before being directed to the correct path. For more information, please call your fax manufacturer. Thank you! - VTech Support

• A:Answer Yes. We have Comcast Business and these phones work well. After setup we had to call Comcast to set the lines to roll over but otherwise everything worked right out of the box.

Q: QuestionThe message waiting indicator does not light up when there is a voice mail. We do get the studder tone but not the light.

• A:Answer The message waiting indicator on CM18x45 system reports the local message recorded by the system instead of those on the Tel. service provider (Central Office). There is an option on the Console's main menu called "COVM" where user can turn on so there will be indication if user has Voice Mail on the CO.
