QuestionWe have a Vtech CM18445 4 Line Business Phone. As of yesterday, the display is showing "COVM Line 1" despite there being no voicemails and the phone's voice mail has been turned off. How do I get rid of that message?

- Answer Hi - Voicemail is different from the built in answering machine on the VTech CM18445. It is a subscription from your telephone service provider. The telephone system will display "COVM LX" when it received a signal from your telephone service provider to notify you that you have a new message recorded. QuestionWe have a two line service. When selecting line 2, to make a call, the speaker automatically turns on without pressing speaker. How can this be fixed?

- Answer Hi - The speakerphone of the VTech CM18445 will automatically turn on when a line button is pressed. You can pick up the corded handset after pressing the line button to switch the dial tone on the corded handset. QuestionWill this system connect into a cat-5 port? We are trying to bypass a failed pbx. And will this system work with the plantronics headset and lifter?

- Answer "Will this system connect into a cat-5 port?" If you only have 2 lines, it will depend on how the jack is wired, but you will need to have your lines moved from the PBX and distributed among the station pairs for Lines 1 / 2 respectively If you have 3 to 4 lines then no. You will need the CAT 5 jack(s} replaced with 2 CAT 3/4 jacks - 2 pair per jack and again you will need to have your lines moved from the PBX and distributed among the station pairs "will this system work with the plantronics headset and lifter" Not likely but you can try it. If not there is a compatible headset that can be purchased

QuestionI have a CM18445 4-line phone system. Right now I have 1 phone line, with call waiting. Does this phone work with call waiting? Currently if i am on the phone, and another call comes in, it rings busy.

- Answer If you have call waiting but secondary callers are getting busy signals, you need to contact your service provider. Chances are it hasn't been activated. As far as your question is concerned, Yes, this is covered in the manual "Operation Options while on calls Call waiting If you subscribe to call waiting service with your telephone service provider, and someone calls while you are in the middle of a call, you hear two beeps. • Press FLASH to put your current call on hold and take the new call. Press FLASH at any time to switch back and forth • between calls."

QuestionI have 4 lines at my office, analog, with rollover, and looking to replace the phones. There is only one input cord to my current phones for the multiple lines. Would the CM18445 be able to use just the one phone cord for the 4 lines?

- Answer No By the sounds of it you've got a phone system. You will need to contact a voice/data contractor to move your lines and rework your jacks. If you're looking to replace it, it can be done but you will need your jacks re-worked and changes will need to be made to move everything away from the system. Depending on how everything is terminated this shouldn't be a big deal.

QuestionI just bought 3 of these phones. I currently have the ATT version and comcast. when I am on line one and someone else picks up line one we can hear each other. This is for all four lines. How do I fix this??

The 3 units you installed will not communicate with each other as they are setup as a stand alone phone. QuestionWe use this phone system with 4 lines at our office. When a phone is in use and a second call is incoming, a short tone plays repeatedly to notify you of a second incoming call while you are on a call. Is there a way to turn off this incoming call tone?

- Answer Hi - Here's how you can turn off the call screening feature of the VTech CM18445 for the answering machine to silently record incoming messages. 1. Press Menu/Select on the telephone base. 2. Press the arrow down button to scroll to Ans Sys Setup, then press Menu/Select. 3. QuestionLooking to purchase this but from my main console the 2nd extension will be 80 ft and the 3 extension will be 100 ft . Will this work . And have led lights and some electrical wire crossing from top will that effect in wireless connectivity

Wait for 1 minute before reconnecting the AC power and batteries, then test the unit again.
