Bought this for cleaning the fabric carpets and rug rug in my car. This little guy is a beast!! The dirty water was blacker than black on just the 4 floor mats alone. Had to do them twice they were that filthy. The OXY Boost and cleaning agent work wonders on stains. Highly recommend this machine for anyone with pets or just neds something for spot cleaning and doesn't need a fulll size steam cleaner. Only improvement in the design could be the suction seal where the attachments snap into the hose. Air leaks outs of those 2 areas.

Really liked this machine but it is small. It is for small messes and even then takes some elbow grease to get a good job done. The tubing near the handle ripped after less than two years. The angle where the handle is stored was fairly intense and stressed the area enough for it to tear. Electric tape has worked so far but definite loss of suction.

This is very weird to clean with. I was expecting more than what it came to be. The vacuum part had a very slim opening so it didn’t suction the liquid as well as I thought. You also go through A LOT of the solution. The directions tell you how much to put but it doesn’t quite work out. I felt like I was still adding. When I was trying it out the liquid came out dirty which meant something was coming out of the carpet. I just felt this was more for cleaning very very small areas. It didn’t work out for me so I unfortunately had to return.

I've owned this for a little over a year and the last time I went to use it, I heard a pop and then the pump for the cleaning fluid stopped working. Sure enough, I took it apart and there is some corrosion on the pump motor - looks like some liquid leaked down and corroded it. I'm bummed because it was perfect for cleaning our barstools and couch. Reached out to Bissell support to see if they can help at all even though I'm just over the one year warranty.

Yes, I never write reviews but I will let the picture I have attached speak for itself. Not only is it lightweight and easy to use but it deep cleans like a professional (even better) carpet cleaner. I truly enjoy this buy especially as a mother, as you can see it cleaned old stains from an adult with Alzheimer's that frequently had bowel and urine accidents. Some stains were over a year old!

We originally purchased this machine just hoping to improve the appearance of some pretty nasty upholstery stains in a pre-owned RV that we had bought. To be perfectly honest, I saved all the packing materials just in case it was "a worthless piece of junk" so I could return it without being hassled.
It did such a good job cleaning the specific spots on the upholstery so I wound up cleaning every remaining square inch of the upholstery in the RV. I was so impressed with those results that I used the machine in our home to follow up cleaning the bad spots that our Rug Doctor carpet cleaner wasn't able to get out. This machine is so small and lightweight that I used it to clean the entire carpet in the RV since it could reach into the hard to reach places. The small waste tank is a pain (having to constantly empty it), but at least you can see for yourself just how dirty everything is as you're working.
It has performed wonderfully in a variety of cleaning projects, cleaning some very old stains. Perfectly clean, "like new"? Of course not, but VERY acceptably clean, MUCH cleaner than I expected.
I don't know why everyone isn't as happy with it as I am, but I am totally satisfied with the Bissel.

Definitely a Spot Cleaner

I bought this hoping I could do a once-over on my rug that my dog had defiled within the first week of having, then to use it as a spot cleaner going forward. Do not make this same mistake...it is LITERALLY just a spot cleaner. Unless you're prepared to sit on the floor and go through several cycles of dumping dirty water and refilling the formula, etc. (I did, though, I wasn't about to rent a machine for a 7x10 and 3x5 rug (the rest of my house is hardwood or tile)...but that's not why my review is 4 stars. I just want to warn you about that...if you've got space to store an upright carpet cleaner and/or you actually have carpet, not just a couple of rugs, in your house, I would say go with that instead.
My only complaints about this unit for it's intended purpose are that the dirty water fills up far too quickly (or rather, it's capacity for dirty water is very low...half the tank still remains empty but it's actually full. Also that it uses a lot of solution to remove very little, so be sure to bargain hunt for all those Oxy solutions and Pet Removal shampoo/cleaners, etc. And finally, the brushes get dirty/clogged very easily which affects the suction.
Overall, though, it's a good machine and is great for a small spot or two at a time. It's a little weighty to be getting in and out all the time, but if you need something only rarely, it's great. I'm trying to teach my dog to stop peeing on rugs, so I feel like I'm constantly getting it out and wonder why I bother putting it away.
Positives...it's compact, it's easy to store, it's aesthetically pleasing (as far as little shampooers go), and it will get the spots up, even if they're a little old. The sooner you get to them, the better, obviously, but I was able to get out old spots with just a little extra elbow grease.

My sister in law has one of these and after seeing it my wife was always insisting that we get one. I never saw the need until I broke down and decided to get it as a gift. Funny thing is I use it now more than she does. I initially tried it on an inexpensive rug that had become soiled from daily foot traffic. I had tried cleaning it with a Rug Doctor but had little success. I used this to spot treat old stains (approximately 6 moths old) and it took them out with ease. Rug looks great. My only recommendation would be to look through the top of the clear spray/suction piece for the amount of cleaning solution that is being sucked up. I always make sure that I do multiple passes and that the spot is as dry as possible(no more solution visibly being sucked up). The first time you empty the dirty water container you will know it is doing its job.

REAL GOOD FOR STAIRS AND SMALL AREAS

We purchased this for small rug cleaning and our stair areas. After a a short learning curve, the Bissell is effect and easy to use. The suction may appear not too great yet the carpets clean very well and dry within a few hours. It must be good okay if it sucked up pennies. We recommend the Oxy cleaner that came with the unit, it was very effective and did a great job. No spots or stain ra-appeared,

Cleaned what I needed it to. It's a handy tool for small quick spots or set in stains, just be prepared to use a lot of elbow grease and if you're looking to clean large areas this is not the machine to do so. It overheats fast and when this happens the suction on the vacuum ceases to operate and you must wait several minutes for it to cool down before you can begin cleaning again. Also the dirty water reservoir fills fast, is ridiculously oversized for the amount of water it collects, and must be emptied sometimes before it reaches the marked full level in order to continue cleaning. All in all you spend more time waiting with this product than you do actually cleaning, if you're trying to do some major carpet cleaning.
That said if you're just using it for cleaning up a spill or some minor spots then this is the product for you but as stated earlier you will have to use elbow grease to get those deep set in stains out. Seeing as we are about to get a dog in the near future this will be a very useful tool to keep the carpets fresh and the house guest friendly.

I debated getting this smaller Bissel and a large vacuum size carpet washer due to having two dogs and a lot of accidents or them getting sick. SO glad I went with this smaller (and cheaper) spot cleaner. When I first got this, I had some spots to clean that were a few days old and it works so well! The carpet was literally cleaner and brighter than I had ever seen. Super easy to take apart and only 3 parts to rinse off/clean. Brush nozzle also comes apart for easy cleaning, or dog hair removal in my case.

I just got the machine today and went through three tanks of water practicing on my daughter's house. She inherited wine/dirt stains from when her Grandma lived there, and now she lives there with two large dogs. Eventually the carpet will be pulled but in the meantime...we got the Bissell.
The good - I sucked up LOTS of dirt and dog hair.
The tanks and hose were easy to clean out
The not so good - I was wishing for a larger water tank and longer hose.
This is definitely a "Spot" cleaner. I moved from one spot to another and got kind of tired of lugging the machine, but I was able to suck up much of the water so carpet was not soaked. I left the ceiling fans on and will check tomorrow. I mainly got this to clean upholstery and I believe it will work well for that, based on how the carpet spots cleaned up.

Surprisingly, the small size of the unit does not deter from large cleaning results. Not only does it effectively spot clean carpets, it is just the right tool for furniture. Would recommend based on value and results.

Very happy with this spot carpet cleaner. I had darkened edges on my stairs from years of use and some spills that needed to be cleaned up. This cleaner is easy to assemble, set up, use, and store. It took some repeat attempts to fully clean my stairs, but I am happy. My suggestion is to try with soap, and then do a just hot water cleanse. Carpets were left fluffy and new.

After spending too much time reviewing a stain cleaner, I finally decided on this one and I am not disappointed. Having 3 pets, this makes life so much easier. It works great, a little loud but to be expected, takes no grief from any stain and leaves your furniture or carpet perfectly clean.
