Customers admire the Single-Zone Induction Cooktop's fast heating speed and ease of use, frequently praising its convenient size and affordability. However, some users note compatibility issues with certain cookware and find the fan to be somewhat noisy during operation. Overall, the positive feedback on performance and ease of cleaning outweighs the reported drawbacks.

We ordered this single-element unit so that we could try an induction cooktop without committing to spending a ton of money on a high-end built in unit that we may not like.
Conclusion: we're completely sold.
This little induction unit does a great job, with plenty of power and enough precision to rival (or beat) gas. It feels solid, but it's not too heavy. It's fairly intuitive to use, and there's a manual to get you introduced. The box even came with a magnet for you to use to check if your pans will work with induction. Almost every pan we have works perfectly, including our cast iron, carbon steel, and stainless steel sets.
It makes quite a bit of noise, which we expected. A lot of it is the induction element, but the cooling fans are quite loud as well. It's the price you pay for an inexpensive, powerful countertop unit I suppose. It would be nice if the element was square and used up the entire surface, but such a unit wouldn't be as good of a price.

I purchased this induction cooktop in order to replace my air fryer for cooking on the-go; I am not disappointed one bit. I feel like a have a gas stove when I cook with this. Everyone should have one of these, especially during potential emergencies, as it runs on electricity. It heats up my pan within seconds, and it ’s small and portable. It fits easily on a folding diner table and can be taken anywhere. Anyone thinking about it, should just purchase it; I would recommend it!!!

with my $10 reward , i got this for $25 ,, i now have 3,, but this one is more powerful to heat ,,, and has a temperature setting where my other 2 insigna only do power level setting ..
i travel with these to use in hotel to perk morning coffee and cook soup, or whatever in a pot .. lot easier than other methods ..
i like these with timer to shut off ,, after a while of use ,you learn what value to set and just let it go and not worry about burning or over cooking ..
my 2 original purchase a few years ago was primarily for summer cooking that it does not heat up the kitchen , ,and now with 3 of these i can cook more item at same time ...
these single units are also better than a dual cooker unit ,, where i seen reviews of them that you can't set both dual cooker to max at the same time ... but with separate one you can ,, your limit then becomes the circuit breakers of your house wiring ..
very happy with all three of my insigna brand units , especially summer cooking and outside deck ,,, and traveling ..

Saw a discount on the "Deal of the Day" and I placed the order online on Feb 16, 2022. Received the order on Feb 17, 2022. I love the sleek design with a built in fan as you could see the ventilation on the side. I use it to cook a six quarts soup with no issue, heating up was quick and the heat was well balanced. Please make sure that your cookware are induction, otherwise it will not work.

Brand new, out of the box and it doesn't work. I get an incompleted 4 ( see photos below). I bought two of these and the same thing happens to the other unit. Get this..I returned those two, and two more were sent to me. The same thing happens. I'm thinking it must be something in my house, so I took them to work and plugged it into an outlet in our breakout room. Nothing. It lights up, but does NOT WORK! How could this happen. Twice??

Hi, Thanks for the feedback. This is a communication exception. It is recommended to turn off the machine and wait for 1mins before restarting it. If it still doesn't work, could you please contact https://www.insigniaproducts.com/email-us for support? Thank you.

My first induction standalone cooktop. Was getting some new cookware and wanted an additional burner and the price was perfect to try the technology. Its fairly easy to use and understand with the proper cookware. My old pots didn't have the right steel layer and would show error on the display. My new pots all work flawlessly on the cooktop. Heat is great and pretty even. Not sure its any faster than my electric range at reaching a boil, but it is very nice to have an extra burner when cooking for a crowd or just warming an item for a buffet.
One surprise to me, this cooktop has a fan similar to a computer that you will hear while using and for a minute after you turn it off. Its not a negative, just didn't know it needed a cooling fan.
For those also wanting to try induction. Best Buy has some great cookware that works great for induction. I chose the Ninja Foodi NeverStick cookware in vivid red.

Home brew inside

As an avid homebrewer, I wanted to try this device since it would allow me to brew indoors. Because of my over-the-range microwave, I can't use my 8 gallon pot on the stove. I can attach a magnet to the bottom of my brew pot, so I knew it should work with the induction cooktop. My first brew with it I learned that you should not have a table cloth under it, as the cooktop kept overheating and cutting out, even on low heats. After putting some thin boards under each side for increased ventilation, it cut out less, but still struggles with my 8 gallon pot to keep 6-7 gallons at a rolling boil. Usually takes about an hour on high to get near boiling. Yes, I am pushing the volume on it, but at the price you can't beat it compared to the commercial kitchen models. I have wrapped my pot in Reflectix to help insulate. My hope is that Best Buy/Insignia designs a slightly larger model to accommodate the 8 gallon pot home brewers. Until then I will probably use less volume in my pot and add a smaller accompanying pot on my stove.

Cooking wise and I mean this in a good way this thing can go from zero to 400 in no time. Just as a warning this product will be useless to you unless you have ferromagnetic cookware. Helpfully it comes with a magnet you can place on your cookware to determine if it's compatible. If it sticks this will work. However it's also smart enough to recognize when it's not interacting with a metal they can heat up through its electromagnetic field. Using your own magnet will help you determine if enough of your cookware is compatible to make this product worth buying. In theory this is both safer from a human health and safety standpoint and technically more energy efficient than either gas or conduction. Even if you don't care about these I find it to be a superior cooking experience as I have more fine temperature controlCooking wise and I mean this in a good way this thing can go from zero to 400 in no time. This does exactly what is it supposed to do. It heats up your steel pots and pans without using a heating element. You do have to have steel cookware and there is a magnet that comes with it to check your cookware. If the magnet sticks to the bottom of your pots and pans, then they should work for you. This is a basic unit, but very functional. You can choose to cook by power level or by temperature, which the highest temperature setting of 440 degrees. There are 8 power levels and each one represents a different power wattage usage. For instance, level 1=300 watts and level 8=1800 watts, which is the highest wattage for this unit. Your power outlet should be over 15 amps and you should not run any other appliance on the same circuit, so it is best to have a dedicated power outlet for this cooktop so you don't trip your circuit breakers or fuses. When using power level 8, water boils in just a couple of minutes without any heat from the cooktop. It's almost like magic. The metals in the pots or pans heat up, but not the unit itself. The cooktop will still be hot for a few minutes when you take your pot off, but there is no heating element to cool down, so to me, it cooks without heating up the kitchen. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. Just power on the unit, place your pot or pan on the cooktop, then choose either the temperature or power level button, then choose your level. There is also a built-in timer for timed cooking and a pause button to temporarily pause cooking. I did not find the fan to be loud at all and the fan does run after your cooking is completed to cool down the unit, but I'm fine with that also. I'm only hoping this cooktop lasts a while because I really love it.

I found this easy to use. There is a ring that must be the magnetic driver that heats mainly the 5” ring in the center. The pan than will move the heat from there. So heavy pans that a magnet sticks to will work best.
What a deal. Seams to be well built.
If you plan to cook at medium to low temperatures /or power I think you will see very good results.
I cook omelettes and other eggs at power setting 2 or 3. I had great luck stir frying chicken one night and pork another. Used a lot of power to brown (8) and dropped it down to 3 to finish it.
I’m using Cuisinart pans rated for induction cooking.
Hitting the pause button is similar to lifting the pan off of either a gas or electric range.
It took some experimenting but now that I have it down I don’t use our other stove at all.
About a month of daily cooking and Still looks new and works great.
I feel it has just the correct amount of options making easy to use. Other stoves get complicated and can be difficult to learn.
Great price too. A lot of stove for the money.

I purchased this in preparation for a kitchen reno- and it's been worth every penny. My first experience w/ an induction cooktop has been good- it heats up very quickly (which requires a learning curve- it can really throw off your timing) and is super easy to clean. My only issues are: it's pretty noisy; and it's not able to go to a low simmer. Despite this, it's been a lifesaver and and has been a great stand-in for a range, along with a tricked out toaster oven.
I'll be happy to have this on hand for backup down the road. Great supplemental burner.

I have always wanted an induction stove top, but they were all so expensive! This one was a steal, and it was so easy to use. All of my meals have been altered greatly since heat is what provides us means to cook our food and this knows how to stay a consistent temperature! Overall I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who has been wanting to purchase an induction stovetop! Totally worth it!

For the deal of the day price I payed, I have no regrets and my gripes are very minor considering the $30 sale price. Once you get used to the quirks its very fast, even to cook (with a good induction pan), and efficient. But if your considering this in the future against similar priced competitors, keep in mind the power heating mode isn't that granular with 8 levels and the temperature heating mode dosen't seem to correlate to real world temp readout. Again, this is easily overcome with practice and adjusting to the right level while cooking becomes natural. You'll need a good set of medium sized induction cookware or you're results will vary. The only thing that's harder to get over is the noise, it's got coil whine and a breezy fan that bothers one roomate that I've had use this. Easy to ignore when I've got an old fashion coil electric rental stove to compare to! Overall, great sale price, value, plus it heats fast, even, and hot with the right pan, with some compromises.
