I’m a college student and I wanted to buy a computer, they told me this was the best computer to buy for college students so I did. When I got the computer I brought it home to set up. I was playing with it and was setting up the font, display, password and etc to my preference. I was on it for a while then got off. Then I went back on it to play around some more and couldn’t get on. I had it to where there was facial recognition and a password that would be accessible to unlock my computer. The facial recognition was being used without my command so it basically tried the max amount of times when I was in an area That didn’t have much lighting and it locked me out of that option so it told me that I had to put in a pin and there was no option for my pin( which I set up). I contacted windows support the guy was confused because he kept telling me there should’ve been different options on the screen and there was only 2 one of which I wasn’t even able to access. I was on the phone for hours trying to figure out what was wrong. He couldn’t figure it out and told me to go to the nearest microsoft store which was in a whole different state so that was not an option. He then told me to go to Best Buy and I did. So the geek squad found out my brand new computer had a corrupted software. So after that was done I was expected to pay $100 for the service and I did not have the money at all, I just put it all in the computer. I was thinking since it was a corrupted software on a new computer, that it would be covered by Microsoft. We eventually got it settled and my computer started working properly again. It was not a pleasant experience being on the phone for 2 hours and then being at Best Buy for over 1. And not being able to use my computer for college work. I’m also afraid to set up a password on it now because I feel like it may happen again...Now that the computer is fixed and I’ve had it for I think a month now, I haven’t had any problems at all it’s great! Sleek design, lightweight, and fast. NO SD CARD SLOT. That I was not told and was pretty disappointed about. It’s also Hard to find a case as well because of the dimensions.

I am currently a college nursing student and when my old laptop broke down mid-semester I needed a new one ASAP. I went to my local Bestbuy around Black Friday and received great customer service and ended up purchasing this laptop. It works fast, I love the face recognition for logins, and it's lightweight and fits easily into my backpack. I think my only complaint would be the battery life, I wish it could go a little longer without charging but then again I do watch a lot of Netflix (the screen is also very clear and rarely any buffering). It's a great buy especially if you want a Mac like laptop without the price.

Pro: This is a beautiful design and quality laptop. I like the touch screen, the weight and the touch pad is very smooth. The battery can last about 7 hours. Cons: But some how the Face ID login doesn’t work after couple weeks, unless you reset. This is a Microsoft laptop, but unlike MacBook included free iWork apps, their Microsoft program like word, excel, ppt was giving you in 30 days trial only.

I needed a new laptop after my 12 yr old Dell laptop died. This laptop is so lightweight and nice looking. It has a touch screen and you can unlock it using facial recognition instead of a password. It is quick and does not lag when loading websites even with dozens of other tabs or Windows being open. Overall, I am very happy that I purchased this laptop (it also helped that it was on sale).

I've used the Surface Pro 3 and Surface Pro 4 previously, but my son wanted a laptop to make working, err... on his lap more convenient. Which is how we ended up with the Surface Laptop. The screen is bigger than the Pro, which he really likes and it's only slightly heavier. Performs great, easy to update and it is compatible with some of the other Surface accessories we already have such as the Surface Dock. One other aspect is that Best Buy matched pricing from the Microsoft Store, which was nice because my local Best Buy is closer to home. I couldn't be happier about that. I'm completely satisfied with the purchase, and so is my son.

I really love this computer and actually returned this one to buy the darker graphite gold option. I am very worried that the fabric on the keyboard will get dirty. If you are prone to spills or eat while you use this, it wont be the laptop for you. However, the build quality is on par with the MacBook and the battery life is even better. This computer easily lasts more than a day on a single charge. I just leave the charger at home because I know that I'm not going to need it. The screen is beautiful, and the trackpad is very accurate and easy to use. Good key travel, and touchscreen is a nice added feature.

Excellent battery life, good looking screen, but the texture of the palm rest is hard to get used to. Placement of some of the keys doesn't feel natural, and the touchpad is less intuitive than it could be. A good alternative for people who like MacBook design but require Windows OS.

I would offer that the first thing anyone does with this computer, after unboxing, is to convert over to Windows Pro. Otherwise, as the Best Buy associate explained, you are using an operating system that is locked down and can ONLY DOWNLOAD/INSTALL SOFTWARE FROM THE MICROSOFT STORE. Once the above was done, I love this laptop. I got the touch pen with it and, though I don't use it regularly, is a fun little gadget. It can even be used as a remote slide-turner for PowerPoint. It is steady-state, so it shuts down and boots back up nearly instantaneously. You will be encouraged throughout to create a Microsoft account. I am usually privacy minded, but with this laptop I threw privacy to the wind and created the account and linked my Android phone to my laptop. So far so good, I'm really enjoying it. This laptop is thin. The battery lasts long enough that I have no complaints about battery time. The touchscreen works great. This is my first touchscreen and I don't think I can go back.

I really needed a laptop but I was tired of the older, heavier models. I also did not want a tablet but a fully functioning PC. The new Surface laptop is fast, lightweight, has a touch screen, and comes with Windows 10. I also like the face recognition feature. I have to remember to log in at work and not just sit in front of my work laptop waiting for it to recognize me! I really love this laptop!

The Surface laptop is great for a Computer Science student! The Surface is light and portable with great battery life. The 128 GB SSD is nice however 256 GB would be a little better on space. I use the Surface for coding and programming in Java, HTML5, python, and a couple of programs. It has no problem with running multiple programs at once. I can be coding and using Spotify and Internet, etc... and run the program with ease or slow time.

I really like the Surface Laptop. It looks and feels fantastic and very premium. The screen is what really sold me, the resolution is incredible and it's something you notice even without a comparison screen next to it. Them memory and processor are more than enough for basic computing, the only thing lacking is storage space (I use an Ultra Fit drive, but it does take away the one USB connection). The reason it's only 4 stars is the price. You can get an objectively better laptop for the same price, but that being said I still ended up with this one. There's something about how sleek and cool it is that made me choose it, even though you can find better "specs" out there for the same price.

I didn’t think I would love a laptop so much. I still haven’t mastered the facial recognition yet but I’ll get it. I bought this device for school and it works well. It’s fast, loads quickly and is easy to use.

I bought it last month. Went home and installed the software and left it alone. When I got back, The software did not allow me to sign in, something about the PIN being expired but did not letting me know how to fix it. I went back to bestbuy the next day, the technician gave me two options, pay $40 to get it fix (because I wasn’t a member), or return/exchange it. He did mention to exchange it to something else. I was not happy, so I left. I was gonna go to another bestbuy location when I remembered there’s a microsoft store nearby. I went to the microsoft store instead and they helped me with the problem and installed all the updates needed. Turned out it was just a glitch on the old updates. It was all free. And I’m happy. The laptop is great, have been using it everyday.
