Customers are pleased with the Powerline 1000 Network Extender's ease of use, performance, and ability to extend the range of their Wi-Fi connection. Many appreciate the straightforward setup and the option to connect devices via Ethernet. However, some customers experienced issues with signal strength and found the price to be a concern. A few users also reported occasional lag, and compatibility problems with certain outlets.

Quick and easy to install. No tools needed. Network extender eliminated the need to run an additional Cat-5 cable.

Probably Function Well Everywhere But My House

I'm sure if used in any home but mine would work excellently. I have three dilemmas, an older block home with dense walls, an aluminum addition (not my idea) on the back of my home, an updated electrical system done by "hit and miss" to bring it into the 21st century. Moved in 30 years ago, were no three prong plugs so my ex called various electricians to add them over the years. Between the three, most of my electronics have a hard time functioning properly. My son used these in a remote location, they seemed to do the trick. Believe the pc he was trying to resuscitate was at fault.

Purchased this to get internet to an equipment rack that had no ethernet wire at its location. Worked well right out of the box without any setup. It took about three to four minutes to go through its setup process.
The lights on the front and what is printed in the manual are in a different order.

I work from home and my office desktop requires direct connection due to the security reason. Got recommended by a cable company agent. Without this device, it would have cost me over $300 for attic wiring. Now my hallway is much cleaner.

I've had these nearly a month now and at first they were great, I was reaching speeds of 175 mbps on 200mbps plan with my provider. My Modem and router were on the second floor. I had to replace my wifi router as it was starting to have intermittent troubles, and I thought that would fix my lower and weird speeds I was receiving. Unfortunately, these no longer even surpass the speeds of 60 mbps. We have a brand new modem, wifi router that are beyond equipped to deal with this network extender. They work, and that's about it. This was my SECOND purchase of a Netgear power-line network extender, the first started to smell like burning wires and stopped working. So I guess you could say these at THE BARE MINIMUM work. Definitely not a satisfied customer.

We bought this with The hope of better coverage for the home. It was better in some of the rooms but not all.
We have a 2400 sq foot home
If you need one get the bigger range one and also we had to position it strategically just to get coverage in the rooms we wanted

Good for extending network. Just be sure you are on the same electric circuit. As long as I was on the same circuit I had very solid speed but the further I got from the main node the signal dropped.

Our previous 10/100 set was still working fine after a number of years. We finally got Internet service above 100 so that is the only reason I had to replace them with this new set. Once again the set Up was easy and we were ready to go in just a couple minutes.

I moved into a new townhouse and discovered it had no built in Ethernet cables to the wall in the master bedroom where my computer would be. I had no idea how to get the internet on my computer without running a long Ethernet cable all the way upstairs to the room from my living room. I found this product after doing some research and it worked amazing and immediately. Highly recommend this product.

I purchased two of these items at the suggestion of my internet service representative. I was trying to get internet in a guest house separate from the house where my router was located. Because the two buildings are on the same electrical circuit, the device worked great. I was so impressed that I purchased another one for my upstairs home office where wifi was a little weak. Again, it works great.

This network extender helped solve a problem where a wired connection is required, but not possible due to access or immediate need. I set up a home office in my garage to create a work space away from the daily interruptions of home life. This was my most cost effective way to achieve a hardwire connection, as I have no access to the ceiling area above my gateway router. It works. Web conferences and basic website functions seem to respond adequately and I am pleased with this solution for now. Longer term I might opt to hire out a telecom install. So far it works well enough.
