I had used Geek Squad in the past and had been very pleased. But the last two times (4/14 and 1/15) have been VERY unsatisfactory. I won't bother with the 4/14 experience--I should have complained at the time. In January I purchased and scheduled for a new router be set up and a new network established. The Geek Squad rep (Mason Brown) called prior to arrival as requested, was prompt and polite and completed his task quickly. Except he did it INCORRECTLY. He did not set up the network properly. I only have wifi if I leave my desktop on. I cannot use wifi on my laptop, tablet, smart phone otherwise. I cannot connect my satellite TV service. He given me contact info in case "there were any problems". So when I discovered the problem I e-mailed him. We exchanged several messages. Then on the following Saturday he called me to see if he could come by. This was unplanned and I was at a play and had my phone off. I didn't pick up the message until the evening. I have tried to contact him by text and email since then with no response. I've been away so have not had a chance to follow up with the company. So now I will have to go through that. I am very unhappy. I did not receive what I paid for, If not resolved I will definitely be using social media!

I am disappointed that my geek squad agent did not have a wireless booster in his car. He said he would complete the job after I purchased the Netware booster fm. Best Buy which I did immediately that afternoon. When I called to reschedule our guy to finish the job the operator was less than helpful especially when I asked for a particular person. Then she said computers were down and call back in an hour. I did with the same results. I tried a third time hours later in the day with the same problem.
I have returned to work after an extended sick leave with limited time available to me now. I am frustrated. Thank goodness my wireless booster is working even though my printer is not.

I can't comprehend this new Windows format. I can't find anything ! There are no task bars, or tool bars. I don't know how to create folders, or save to a file or folder. I had no idea that I would be forced to use Windows 8 instead or the Windows 7, which I have been using for ......how many years ? This is the first use of a computer in my home since my old PC broke down 8 years ago, and I am totally lost ! I have been using the PCs at work all those years, ( about 25 ). Can I go back to the Windows 7 program, so I can get more use out of this new laptop ?

I had an excellent experience with the set up of my wireless printer and some support of my new Toshiba laptop. Tech ensured my Yahoo email was set up to be imported and managed in Outlook. This is very important to me as I used Outlook in business and prefer to use and folder structure of that program. Also, took time to explain Windows 8 nuances and addressed some navigation items. Again - a great experience and probably the best in all the years of using service for PC, laptops, printers and TV set-up/install.

I bought a new router and paid to have the Geek Squad set it up. It was replacing one I had running. They (Geek Squad) were suppose to call and set up an appointment. After 3 days I read the instructions and did it myself. I have been trying to get my $110 back ever since then. They put us on hold for an hour. I went through Best Buy Customer Service as a 3 way call. We were on hold for over 45 minutes and never talked with anyone who could help.They may never show up and you have to pay someone else to do their job.

1st time for elder parents to have wireless & laptop (main reason was to enable them to use Skype). What a great experience in-store and at home with the entire process for them. Parents must have went back to store in Arcadia California at least 2 doz. times before the entire process was finished (or until they understood the process). The agents & in-store sales person (Garret) made this so easy & user friendly that they are recommending the service to all their friends. Without the patience and great help (Geek Squad & Garret) I doubt if they would have used Skype. We were able to have our family Thanksgiving "visit" with the entire family in Arcadia CA from our home in Honolulu, Hawaii. Our parents have been using Skype on their own numerous times without problems because of Geek Squad's expertise & ability to work with all ages and abilities. THANK YOU BEST BUY & GEEK SQUAD FOR HELPING ME GIVE OUR PARENTS THE BEST PRESENT EVER!

This product was touted to improve cell signal and reception and work with almost all cases. Well I found out that none of that was true. It actually made the reception on my IPhone 6 Plus worse. And, I tried it with three different cases I have and it didn't fit in any of them when added to the phone.

I've always thought there should be a better way with our level of technology to not be burdened by a jungle of cables. The "agents" sold us a device that solved that problem. They did hook us up well and walked us through our new "smart TV" which was smarter than us despite our not being computer dummies. Nice to have the help.
They were very helpful, respectful, mindful of cost effective choices and also pointed out things outside of our control (apartment complex doesn't have good network speed.)
Overall satisfied. Would recommend them.

Geeks came to make my condo wireless. I scheduled it in-store. I wish I had been asked what is my internet speed. Cuz geeks came, installed great, BUT my ATT speed is too slow to stream netflix.
I could stream hardwired.
So I ordered uverse.
Then I found out I needed a uverse modem/router.
Now its siiting for 3 weeks cuz I don't want to install it myself.
See? If I had kwnown beforehand the minimum speed needed to go wireless I could've had geeks come after I had ordered uverse, NOT before.
Now I've been renting videos while I'm stuck without netflix.
Also I shouldve switched to Comcast. Cuz ATT is only 1.5 mbps......

I was removing my Cable DVR box to downgrade and trying the Roko as an alternative. I also wanted to relocate all my cable, modem etc to one location. The cable had to be rerouted to the new location. The agent took off the crimped cable connector in order to feed it down to the basement and then back up to the new location. However he did not put a new connector on the end of the cable and just stuck the old one on the end. Several days later this faulty connector caused me to question the cable company. I relocated the modem to a good wire with connection and then discovered the broken connector. I also returned the Roko as it did not work out for my entertainment interests.

ROKU HD Streaming

ROKU is a great little box to stream movies from Netflix. I'm not a techy and would suggest having Geek Squad set it up if your not a techy.
Having some trouble getting the free channels to stream without reloading every few minutes, but ROKU customer service is fast at answering and helping you solve all problems. Only problem now is, I spend to much time watching movies.

I did not understand the difference between computer protection plan and tech support due to what I was told in the store. So I first purchased the protection. When then the Geek Squad person told me I had not bought the tech support, I had to buy that. The tech support is the best feature Best Buy offers, as I have no IT staff and networking, computers, etc., can be confusing if one does not work with this all the time. Frankly without Geek Squad, I'm not sure Best Buy has too much more to offer than other stores. Your in-store, online and field staff (out to the home) people are what makes your business better. You need more people not fewer.
I ordered my laptop and paid expedited shipping only to find out that the appointment time for Geek Squad to come out was almost a week out, so I paid the expedited shipping for nothing. Regular shipping would have been fine. Please, also consider using the regular post office for shipping as it is much more cost effective and saves customers money.
