Great upgrade even from Galaxy S8+

The phone functions very similar to the Galaxy S8+ that I upgraded from. The benefits for me are the fact that the picture and video has been upgraded. I use my phone for family video's very often and the faster processor in this phone seems to show when I am recording video in the highest setting. This phone responds much faster than the S8+ that I had previously and doesn't have the frame stutter that I experienced before. I loved my Galaxy S8+ but this was a great upgrade for me even though I was sure it would be when I made the decision. I would recommend this phone even if it weren't for the fact that the picture and video weren't updated because the phone in general seams to be quicker with every other task that I use it for as well.

Honestly the best smartphone I've ever used. Super fast, great pictures, great battery, all around amazing! Just one problem. Bixby. Doesn't understand most commands and is very limited to the things it does recognize. The Bixby button is the only complaint about the phone but you can turn it off and with a little finesse you can even reprogram it but only with third party programs at the moment. Other than Bixby this phone is fantastic!

After reading up on this phone...I was shocked at the speed of the RAM, the standard internal storage PLUS the amount of storage that could be added. The colors are brilliant. Cameras are excellent. Love all the available built-in security. The sound is the best I've heard. The "speaker" is clear when on as well. It has a ton of bloatware but it is easily turned off. I turned almost all of it off. MIne is on Firefox and protected by Webroot. I search on DuckDuckGo. I purchased the case elsewhere online for $8. This phone was on sale for $200 off at Best Buy so I ordered online and picked it up at the Speedway Indiana store. After getting the phone from the cashier I went to the "phone" counter and was helped by an incredible employee ~ Jailynn. I love this phone. Go get 1 while on sale before they are gone. I should've never left Samsung & now I never will. By the way compare the S9 and the S9+ on the Best Buy webpage. The S9+ really out-specs the regular S9 ! You will get the S9+ ~ seriously worth the couple extra dollars.

Beautiful phone, very smooth and fast. Best camera on any phone period! Battery life seems great, I literally didn’t sit this thing down yesterday and the battery was still going at 1 am. I also think it has the best display on any phone right now. The ar emoji is nothing more than a gimmick but so is apples soo. I’ve been an Apple guy since the iPhone 4 and just had a iPhone 7 that I traded for this, I wasn’t about to get the iPhone X, IMO Apple has been going down hill since Jobs passed away, no new innovation or quality control there anymore. My iPhone 7 was so buggy. I was a little nervous at first but after setting it up for a day, I finally have it the way I want it and love it. Android is different in every way, but I love the customization. If you’ve been thinking about switching like I have been for a year, don’t hesitate on this one you won’t be disappointed

Samsung Galaxy S9. I had one Disappointment.

I kept my Galaxy S5 as long as I could. I only upgraded because the battery was draining in just a few hours. I bought several "new" ones for it, but none helped. Transferred all apps and pics and contacts, etc. Disappointing was my favorite game did not carry my 2700+ levels over (I don't think any game carried that info over). Had to start at one, again. My fear of this was the main reason I did not upgrade sooner. The S9+ is very fast compared to the S5. Of course, I skipped a few models in between, so it is more noticeable. I had it for a few weeks, now. It takes a bit to learn the vast amount that the phone has to offer. Actually, I find it is easier, or faster, to just use old methods as opposed to learning the new way, or the "new feature" way. As an example, I thought the edge panel would be very useful, however, I find I am not using it. I am accessing all of those things on it the way I did on my old phone. There is just so much more on this phone that I will be learning it probably until it's time to get the next upgrade because the battery will not hold a charge again. Or, maybe because the phone can't keep up with the new stuff that's put on it and it takes a lot of power (battery life) for it to even make it happen. Anyway, the Samsung Galaxy S9+ is a super great phone. I heard a lot of good about it before I upgraded to it. Everything I heard was true.

The Samsung Galaxy S9 is my fifth Galaxy after my S2, S4, S6 and S7. It is simply the best solution for me. As a camera it excels. The S7 was nearly there but the front camera wasn’t quite what I wanted. The S9 now does it all. Perfect in low light, fabulous portraiture, sharper output than any camera lens I own and versatile for 95% of photography. I use it for all product shots on eBay and it has made my life a lot easier. As a portable computer it organizes my 7,000 database records with ease in the Contacts folder. Battery life is excellent and wireless charging is spot on. The audio input jack is a continuing bonus and this makes for a versatile audio recorder in all situations. USB C connection is great. Speakers are terrific, the screen is great for video playback. The S9 is a powerhouse with intuitive, useful software that is quick to use in any situation. Build quality and waterproofing are first rate. The size is perfect for me which is why I chose it over the S9+. It can nearly replace any other camera I use professionally but it can’t handle ultra wide interior photography. It is missing the 3:2 format which is what I prefer, so I hang onto other cameras for this purpose. But given that it is always on me, means there is the matter of convenience and confidence knowing that I can make do at a pinch. Multi tasking means making a phone call, sending a text and dealing with email all at the same time. Android software means it is an open system that is constantly being developed so I don’t feel I am being held hostage to proprietary software. From a productivity point of view, it is a compliment to a powerful laptop and camera systems that lets me develop my imagination, express my creativity and do everything I want that was still impossible, as recently as two years ago. There are cheaper alternatives starting to come out of China that are similar but for the time being I am sticking with Samsung Galaxy, as they have never let me down. This factor alone never makes me wonder about the top price proposition that is being paid. What is the point of saving money if what you buy can’t do what you want? With an S9 I don’t have to wonder. If I didn’t have it I would use my S7 because that was nearly as good.

I have had the Samsung Galaxy S7 for over 3 years. It was slowing down, some of the apps seemed to be in slow motion, incoming calls didn't always show the phone number, it had to be charged multiple times a day, etc. It was time for a new one. I saw the sale on the S9 and S10. I decided on the S9+ being that it was a larger screen and it was half the monthly rate of the S10. It was on sale at Best Buy for a week. I went right in and picked it up after reviewing the other prices that were offered by competing carriers. I absolutely love the speed, the battery longevity, the camera picture quality, etc.

5 Star for hardware. Software is something else.

First, I need to be upfront. I am a Windows Phone/Mobile user since Windows Mobile 2003 SE right up to the last real phone, the Lumia 950(There was a Blackberry Curve in there somewhere) Windows phone revival was officially cancelled a few days ago, I decided it was time to pull the band-aid off. I have had the S9 Plus for a few days now and I have to say that the hardware seems to be top notch. Screen looks great, no stutters bouncing around and the few pics I have taken look good. Aside from not being used to the hard-button placement, I can spot nothing wrong with this device. However.... I have spent more time than I care to admit converting this in to a Window Phone replica(Launcher10, Edge, Bing, Cortana, Office, OneDrive, etc.). And I was reasonably successful in doing so but It's still Android underneath. The best I can say is that the app selection is unlimited. After that, boy does this thing feel sloppy coming from the Win-Phone environment. Settings are all over and a mess. Widgets and alerts pop up all over the place. Constant "virus alert" pop up while browsing. Tons of "junk" to uninstall. Had a hard time convincing Bixby to leave me alone. His button now opens Bing :-)… I imagine that once I get used to some of these annoyances, I'll be fine. - Final summary: If you come from the Android world, this is a really nice phone. If you come from Windows and probably Apple, be prepared for some adjustments. I won't take away any stars because of my own adjustment.

    Best Android Phone Today

This phone is arguably the best Android smartphone that you can buy today. It's like having a very portable, network-connected computer in your pocket. Plus it has a superior camera to other phones and most point-and-shoot cameras, and it has a superior screen display. I use the camera, Wifi, and Skype extensively when traveling abroad. My only beef (a minor one) is that there are so many apps and options, the processor is so fast and the screen is so sensitive, that you can inadvertently open unintended apps and features. It takes a while to become accustomed to all its features and to customize them to your preferences. BestBuy sometimes has the best discounts. You should also buy a high-quality protector case and screen protector to protect your investment.

I happen to have the luxury of an android and iPhone family. This luxury gives me the opportunity to crossover. As a devoted iPhone user I could say with certainty that I wish my phone worked this smooth. The Samsung galaxy phone has everything a power user would want speed, control, Great camera and good looks. The display is amazing on this phone and the pictures always look gorgeous. The OLED display allows for a viewing Experience second to none. Performance is high speed and Samsung offers some cool and quirky features that you’ll enjoy playing with. The phone is all glamorous so definitely get a case because gorilla glass and all there’s no way you’re dropping this without breaking it unless you have a good case. My wife dropped her S8 that she love and unfortunately rather than repair it we upgraded. These are not cheap devices to fix so keep in mind that you’ll pay a price for not protecting your phone. Other than that it’s a flagship fun all the way

I've been a long time Samsung fan and I've lived every product I've ever purchased from them and this phone is no different. The build is solid and the display is crisp and responsive between switching apps or even switching to the camera so great performance and great capture with tons of settings to play with. I would highly recommend getting a phone cover asap as the outer shell and screen of this phone is very very slippery and does not sit still on surfaces with slight inclines or laps. Very pretty to look at, but that slippery surface can give you anxieties. Overall it was a great buy and for 300 off the original price it was the best deal offered at Best Buy and the staff was helpful and knowledgeable helping me decide on my next upgrade.

Perhaps my fault for not looking at the device, but just looks black to me ? But, not a huge issue. Stupid "Bixby Button" , just a gimmick. Have never used it except for pushing it 1000 times accidentally. just a nuisance ! Good camera, except for some other gimmicks with the software; Emoji and avatars for example. Curved edges ; sort of distracting as now I need to tilt the phone slightly when typing as the letters are almost off the edge. $30 activation fee even though I am already ATT customer ???? Good price through Best Buy , If the final ATT bill is what is advertised ??

I am coming from an S8 so the upgrade wasn't a huge one for me. But I will say, like the S8 this is a great phone. It is a bit faster and I do get better battery life on the S9 even though the battery is the same size. Guess that is some of the power consumption optimizations made to the Snapdragon 845 and Android Oreo. For the most part with a custom launcher you can get an almost vanilla Android experience. The biggest compliant is the Bixby button. If Samsung insists on putting this on all of their phones they could at least let us remap it to something else like the camera or flashlight or something useful like that.

I finally took the plunge and upgraded from the Note 3, which was still working, but it was so slow to do everything and the battery constantly needed to be charged. I love my new S9+ and now I use my Note 3 as a viewer for my security cameras. I just leave it plugged up on my desk and can just look over and see what's going on at home....nice! I've only had my S9+ for a month and I'm loving it. My only complaint so far is that the fingerprint scanner doesn't always work right away and I have to constantly move my finger around over the scanner before it detects it. I can hear it click like it's trying to read it and it doesnt't recognize it. I usually have to delete the fingerprint I have saved and rescan it and resave it. Could be operator error, could also be the case, but we'll see. So far, I'm loving it!

I upgraded from an LG G6 and I was reluctant to purchase because of the similarities to the s8, but upon purchase I got the s9 but I found s9+ better fitting in my hand. In terms of my reluctance I'm happy to say they made it new enough that I dont feel like I should have waited another year. The camera is amazing, as expected and the small new features and aesthetic updates are pretty useful. Battery is great, everything is great. I'm very happy with my phone!

If you're like me you don't like the restrictiveness of Apple and don't like the low-quality feel of some other brands which leaves only Samsung. Fortunately this time around they don't fail or disappoint by changing the fingerprint sensor updating a camera features and other software this phone is an absolute Powerhouse. This phone for me was upgrade from a ZTE zMAX2. And although I had been rocking the budget phone for many years the S9 plus was a much-needed upgrade. My only quarry with this phone is it has an all glass body with a titanium Rim I wish they had an option with a metal back. Although the glass makes it look slim it is a fingerprint magnet and does not give you the confidence to take your phone out of the pocket without a death grip. This phone is not for the faint of heart if you are clumsy. The sound quality of music and for making calls is amazing, both front and back cameras are beyond what I expect the phone to be able to do, plus the customization capabilities of an Android platform make this phone and absolute must buy for 2018.

I upgraded from the Galaxy S7 Edge. This phone feels and performs better in every way, especially considering my old phone struggled to make it to 5pm with any battery left. I have yet to dip below 15%, even with a full day of heavy usage from 7:30am to past midnight. The new blue color is also really nice. Much better than the S8 blue color.
