However, some users experienced challenges with the robot's navigation, noting inconsistencies in its movement and occasional difficulties connecting to Wi-Fi. Simpler than most, but works great!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We got this as a secondary vacuum for our carpeted 2nd floor. It doesnt have the bells and whistles as alot of the other ones do like mapping or spot cleaning, but it was a much better deal. It does connect to wifi though so I can turn it in and off with the app or with my Google home which is very cool. The suction is what's really great though, it works really well on carpet and gets all kinds of deep crumbs and hairs out. Our carpets have seriously never looked this good!

Very good running vacuum!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Doesn't allow for newer 2.4 MHz wireless with newer security protocols, however you can changed from WPA3 and turn on dual protocols on your router after changing to WPA2 and setting it up, then will connect to device after the change back. This should save you about an hour of troubleshooting. Overall this is a great vacuum for the price, better than my iRobot used for the upstairs rooms, has higher suction and better coverage. I have never run out of batter on this thing and it covers the living room, dining room, kitchen and family room no problem.

I’d buy it again.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had this vacuum for a month now & I love it. The only reason I gave it a “good” rating is because it doesn’t have mapping. I knew that going into my purchase however, with the price of this product mapping should be included for this model. Other than that it does suction well & it picks up A TON of debris. The app is helpful as well since I have a dog who doesn’t like vacuums — I go intro my room, shut the door and use the app to start the vacuum & it runs for an hour. Also you can set up a schedule for it to automatically run.

||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First robot vacuum. Nothing to compare to but I'm very pleased with its performance. Yes, have to clean the bin after every use but did that on standup vacuum. Suction very good. No, it doesn't do windows. Would recommend it highly. Nothing wrong with getting back top the basics.

Id buy something else.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Price was cheap wanted to really see the difference. It picks up hair but gets full/block pretty fast. It doesnt navigate stairs, and it appears to do worst than a roborock s5 thats over 5 years old. I mean it works i bought a gew to try out 1 for each level of the house. But I would buy the better ones if you can. This is just a meh unit.

Good for light cleaning. Bad for pet hair.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pro: -Simple to use -App and voice control Con: -Bounces around randomly -Suction power is okay -Dust can spill out when lifting the vacuum or when removing the bin -Pet hair clogs the bin -Maintenance This model has simple maneuverability, with it just going forward until it hits something, turns, and repeats. How well it covers an area really depends on the room. It’ll eventually cover the entire space but it runs at a random pattern so it can take quite a bit of time. Suction power is okay for light surface level cleaning, more suited for hard floors. There’s also a lot of maintenance needed after each cleaning. Performance The suction is not that strong and it doesn’t pick up dust along walls and corners. On hard floors, it can pick up small debris like cat litter and does a good job for fine dust. It has a harder time with carpet, picking up surface level dust. Bigger debris like confetti can be missed. It doesn’t do well with pet hair. It will pick it up but it will start getting caught within the combs and start blocking the dust bin. Maintenance The dust bin will have to be emptied after each use. The pre filter needs cleaning and any hair or large debris caught in the comb has to be cleared each time. The filter will need to be replaced periodically depending on use. Beyond those regular maintenance, the roller brush can be removed and cleaned or replaced if needed. The App and Voice Control The app functions are somewhat limited for this model. It only allows for remote start and stop. Schedules can be set up for each day of the week, but it didn’t work for me. For Alexa voice commands, you need to download the skill and link your account. Battery The battery can run up to about 2 hours. It should be enough to clean an average sized room. It took about 30-60 minute to clean one room. Final Impression If you need a simple cleaner for light work and don’t mind the little vacuum running around and bouncing into things, then it’s fine. If you have pets then this may not meet your needs. The hairs will get caught up and start blocking the dust bin. There’s also a lot of maintenance to be done regularly.

SHARK ION On the Job.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Handy entry level robotic vacuum. We were gifted an early model of another manufacturer which we placed on the second floor. We have a black lab chow mix dog who is aging and sheds. This Shark has great suction and is easy to clean. It is low enough to get under 2 sofas and several lamp stands. It takes some time to find the dock and back its way into it, but we can set it, close the French doors and let it do its thing.

Powerful Robot Cleaner.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been a big fan of the Shark family of vacuum products for quite a while. I currently own some uprights as well as some other brands of robot vacuums. Unboxing and the setup process up was easy. After initially charging the Shark and a quick download of an App, it was ready for use. A few clicks here and there and it was ready to use. The vacuum is highly maneuverable and pretty quiet. I was pleased with how well it cleaned my floors and carpets. During my testing of the product, I actually used an upright vacuum in my home before I let loose the Shark. I was amazed that the Shark actually found more dirt which wasn’t initially sucked up by my upright! PROS: Control buttons are clearly marked and easy to use. Suction power is STRONG! Vacuum is easy to utilize on both hardwood/tile floors and carpeting. Vacuum is pretty light. Tri-brush system. Battery life is long. CONS: None in my opinion All in all, I'm enjoying this Shark vacuum. It's fantastic at picking up dirt during the first sweep of the floor. I found that my rooms were truly clean. What’s really nice is the tri-brush system which cleans edges and corners thoroughly. Cliff sensors ensure that the Shark doesn’t fall over the step into my sunken living room. I have a parrot who constantly sheds both small and large feathers and the Shark had no problem in cleaning them. It also picks up long hair with ease. I’m definitely loving this product! The Shark chews up the competition! Great product, buy one

This is nearly a Daddy Shark doot doot da doo!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Shark ION in white is a great everyday vacuuming experience for those too busy to get out the stick vacuum or are looking for a quick touch up when you are out. Shark's ION offers powerful suction and brushing motions to help ensure dust, pet hair, and dirt are removed from your floors and helping reduce allergens from your home. The ION comes with everything you need right out of the box including a charging/docking station. You can be up and cleaning in just a few minutes or wait about an hour for your shark to fully charge for a whole room/floor cleaning. I found this Shark robot vac to be exactly what we needed upstairs. We already have a different model downstair and it does a great job. This ION makes great strides in helping us keep the pet hair and dust bunnies under control on our mostly hardwood floors. It even tackles our heavy pile area rug with ease. My only complaint is the design is flawed in that the Shark backs into its dock rather than fronts in. Why? I have no idea since the collection tray is on the back of the vacuum. You have to physically remove the bot from the dock to remove the tray and then return it or push the dock button to get it back in to charging position. PROS - Shark brand and innovation - Powerful suction and collection for a bot style vac - Powerful motors power through bare floors or high pile carpet - Easy to set up - Charges quickly and is always ready - Connects with app for a great user experience CONS - Vac backs in making it impossible to remove the collection tray without remove the vac from the dock

Yep, I Fell In Love With It!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For a long while now I have been thinking about getting a vacuum robot. First, they just seem like they would make a neat addition to the household, and second, you can just let them run and vacuum while you are doing other things, even away from the home. The opportunity came along to get the Shark ION Robot vacuum, so without really knowing what to expect, I ordered one. After getting it home and unboxed, I have to admit I felt just a tad intimidated. It seemed as though it was going to be quite a technical challenge to get the Robot up and ready to vacuum. But I was wrong. Shark has put a tremendous amount of thought into its quick start guide, so the whole process was extremely simple and easy. The first thing to do is find the spot you want to keep it docked. The footprint of the ION is a bit large, so I had to pick a spot that was open, but also out of the way, while at the same time having easy access to the floors. One thing I need to point out is that the large footprint is due in part to the need of the ION to have enough space to maneuver back into its home spot when it docks. That's just something to keep in mind. After getting it all situated, I let it charge over night. The quick start guide said three hours, but I was going to bed and I don't really know how long it took to get fully charged. But it was ready to go by morning. Before using it, Shark recommends downloading the Shark app, which I did. But as far as I can tell, the app is not necessary to actually use the ION. In fact, before I even connected the Robot to my phone, I let the vacuum run for about 30 minutes. It was interesting to watch as it would go until it encountered an obstacle, and stopped. It would do a little dance, turn around, and go again until it hit another obstacle, do it's little thing, and go again. And again, I did this without the aid of the app. Well, to be quite honest, other than being able to start the ION remotely, and defining a rigid schedule, there isn't much to the app. You can't use it to define boundaries, but I think this is a good thing because its ability to encounter an object and recover all on its own makes defining boundaries a bit superfluous. Don't get me wrong, I can see where under some circumstances it might come in handy, but for the most part I think boundaries are unnecessary. The final step is to simply connect the Robot to your home wi-fi, which I did. Wi-fi of course is needed to access the Robot via the app. The ION Robot has three touch buttons for controlling the unit...Dock - you push this button to cause the Robot to return to its docking station. Clean - this was mildly confusing only because I wasn't sure if it meant to clean the floors, or if it has something to do with cleaning the vacuum. It's for putting the Robot to work cleaning the floors. And finally, Max - this increases the Robot's suction power for cleaning carpets and other high maintenance areas. So, after letting it run for 30 minutes, I wanted to see how much it had accumulated in the bin. The Robot is fairly quiet, so I had a feeling its cleaning power was probably lacking. This silly thought lasted until I actually looked inside the bin. All I can say is that I am grateful no one else was around to see how much dust and pet hair it actually picked up! The bin was practically full. I didn't really want to, but I put it on Max and let it go again, this time for only 15 minutes. Yep, it picked up even more! The Shark ION Robot, from start to finish, is so use friendly that it requires absolutely no special tech skills to get it up and running. I love the fact you can just start it and let it go do its thing. You can use either the app or the onboard controls to initiate the cleaning cycle, increase the vacuum power, and return the unit to its docking station. As I said before, it isn't very loud, but even so, there is an option to put it into quiet mode (using the app) which allows you to continue using it when the noise might be a bit inconvenient. THE TAKE AWAY One thing to keep in mind is that the Shark ION Robot Vacuum is not the only vacuum you need unless of course you have very little furniture and keep almost nothing sitting on your floors. However, as a go-to vacuum for floor maintenance in-between deeper cleaning days, this is the one. It does indeed have great suction, and its picks up almost everything...and will not wrap hair around its rollers. All in all, this is one of the best investments you can make for keeping your home floors clean and presentable, and for keeping pet hair from making its way underneath your furniture. I highly recommend the Shark ION Robot to anyone thinking about getting one. It's a great investment, its easy to use, and it is extremely well made. Go for it!!

OK Entry-level Bot
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unboxing the Shark ION RV763, you’ll find the bot, the charging dock with attached power cord, and documentation. Initial setup was simple enough: Plug in the charging base on the floor of your home, remove all the packing from the bot, snap on the edge brushes, set the bot on the base to charge, and install the app to your mobile device. With setup complete, it was on to cleaning. On hard surfaces, like tile or hardwood, it readily picked up dog hair, stray kibble, or anything else it encountered. On carpet, like most other robotic vacuums, it cleaned the top surface fine but didn’t have the raw power to perform a deep cleaning. Mobility was no issue as the bot easily transitioned from hard surfaces to doormats to low-pile area rugs and navigated my floor vents without issue. Scheduling cleanings with the app was easy to understand and setup and ran reliably. Maintenance (emptying the bin and detangling the main brush) was easy to complete. With all that said, the RV763 is an entry-level bot. It features a minimal on-board sensor package and no mapping functionality. This means that it cleans by going forward until it encounters an obstacle, then it turns and continues at a different angle. Depending on the size and complexity of your space, the result can be that the bot obsesses over a specific space and misses other areas entirely. In my testing, what this translated out to was, when I gave the bot smaller spaces, it cleaned great. But when the bot was let loose in a larger, open-concept space, I would find dog fur tumbleweeds that would be missed entirely. It also means it has no ability to schedule specific room cleanings and can actually have difficulty finding the charging base when a cleaning is complete. Overall, the RV763 performs well with good suction and generally quiet operation. But with the lack of mapping, your mileage will vary.

Great Robot that Cleans!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have had the other brand of robotic vacuum for a number of years. An older model, then an upgrade about 3-4 years ago. We also have dogs. Well, we are down to one dog, but she sheds enough for a pack. Having a robotic vacuum is a necessity, as I am busy and tired. And I hate housework. I have carpet in the front half of the house, and wood floors with ruggables in the back half. I have had a shark stick in the past, and it did not get along with the ruggables. This bot has no issues with them. No curled corners, no trying to inhale the rug, just went right over it and cleaned. As you can likely tell, I am a big fan of this unit. That said, I gave it high marks for deep cleaning, but I am working on a bot scale. I will still run my Dyson, because I don't think it cleans as deeply as a regular vac and did I mention I have a dog? She not only sheds, but she tracks dirt...I will say I am taking less trips to the trash bin with the Dyson cup, so I think this Shark works pretty darn well. Bottom line - I was very surprised at the relatively low price of this unit. Well worth the investment.

Quiet, smooth, gets the job done
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m probably a little biased because I have and have owned several appliances and devices from Shark, and I have been very happy with all of them. The ION doesn’t have laser tracking, so it’s got the traditional “bump and go” path finding of running up to walls and furniture, then turning in ninety degrees to make its way around. The sensors seem more advanced than others though, as it slows down enough to not slam into obstacles. Cleaning strength - there’s a normal and a “max” clean mode. The normal mode was so quiet my wife actually commented on how pleasant it was. But the cleaning strength was significantly weaker than other vacuums, as I watched it run over a small piece of debris multiple times and not pick it up. When I pressed the button to switch to Max clean, however, the Shark ION easily swept up that same piece of debris. Even on max clean, though, I was pleasantly surprised that the noise didn’t jump up significantly. As far as I’m concerned, this is another example of Shark quality and an appliance working exactly as advertised. We’re very happy
