Mointer is great works amazing with ps5 looks great, some issues tho, there seems to be an issue where the screen goes blank and has looking for input even after connected no big deal it will fix itself. I had a few times where the Mointer would flash up and half the screen would work the other half did not. Did this on the mw beta and the screen flashed out of control and the imaige stayed on the screen like a burn in. I turned off the unit over night and it fixed itself or it would have been returned. Like most items it works great when working sadly I don’t think it will last and not for 900. Moniter should be about 450. Also ps5 auto synchs which is nice but I cannot seem to know how to turn into fps modes as it locks, Should also come with a remote to adjust settings which is worthless for the ps5 anyway. I did many research before buying and kinda regret for the price I would say, stay away unelss price comes down, but overall when it works it’s great hopefully it stays working and I would bump up to 3 stars I also attached the burn in from mw2 but that did go away, overall look else where

The panel and picture quality are great, but often the monitor will fail to switch inputs and even freeze, requiring it to be powered off and on frequently. I've reached out to Sony about fixing this, but they have been wildly difficult to deal with. When they finally sent a replacement, it was already damaged. So sadly I am living with a faulty monitor and try not to switch inputs when I can help it

I have purchased several 4k monitors and owned them for many years. This is by far the worst. Sure it's pretty and plays games really well, but that's not an excuse for the build quality and quality control. I've had dead pixels on two of these displays. They are ultra sensitive and will not hold up as well as a Dell monitor. Don't get me started on the stand that's included... it's awful. I would say that you should buy an ergotron with it, but an even better idea would be to just not buy this monitor. It's not a good product, there are lots of issues with just about every feature of the monitor.

Hi CarsenY, Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the Sony 27 inch INZONE Gaming Monitor. We're sad to hear that you are not impressed with it. The LCD panel fitted to this unit is manufactured with high precision technology, giving a functioning pixel ratio of at least 99.99%. A very small proportion of pixels may be stuck, either always off (black), always on (red, green, or blue), or flashing. These issues are not a malfunction. https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/televisions-projectors-monitors/sdm-u27m90/articles/00279504

Please ensure that your INZONE M9 is updated with the latest firmware which is available by accessing the INZONE Hub. There will be a notification to update the monitor to the latest firmware. We also appreciate your feedback on the stands. They are extremely important to us and is very much helpful for our future production.

If you need further assistance, please let us know and we're more than happy to help you out. You can send us an email with the below information to socialsupport@am.sony.com.

Awesome picture, clear display. Colors are amazing. Designs cool and matches the ps5. Reason for 2 stars…randomly searches for input. Even in the middle of a game. Scree will also go black and when it comes back the picture is fogged out. There’s an update for the monitor, from the firmware version it was on…the update could possibly fix those issues, however you won’t be able to find out unless you have access to a windows computer with a usb c port. I don’t. So I returned it and went with a lg 27gp950 instead. No issues there.

This monitor was a little bit of great, and a whole lot of meh. I LOVE the styling of the monitor, but obviously this is a personal preference kind of thing. It performed well, as far as refresh and gaming; however, the good kind of ends there. The worst part about this monitor was that it would auto-disconnect any input and begin searching for a signal at any time. This happened while idle, when waking from sleep, and even while gaming. The second worst is the absolutely horrendous backlight bloom and bleed. This is quite possibly the worst blooming I've ever seen in a monitor. Coupled with the bleed, and it was just a no go. There were a bunch of other nit-pick issues I had with the monitor, but with just the first two returning it was warranted.

      Hi JediD,

We're glad that you like the design of the monitor. It's unfortunate that you are not having complete experience because of those issues. Your feedback is extremely important to us and is very much appreciated.

For optimum performance, make sure that the software version of the monitor is up-to-date. Please refer to these links for more information:

      https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/monitors-inzone-m9-series/sdm-u27m90/software/00284042

      https://helpguide.sony.net/tv/u27m90/v1/en/contents/TP1000670514.html

It is also recommended to use a High Speed HDMI cable or the latest version of a display port cable. Sometimes cables are the easiest cause for concern and fix most issues.

If you have multiple devices connected to the monitor, you can disable the auto input search to manually select a specific input. For more information, please refer to this link:

      https://helpguide.sony.net/tv/u27m90/v1/en/contents/TP1000668884.html

To reduce the blooming or halo effect, set the Local dimming to Low or Off. Note: The setting may cause the whole screen to look washed out.

    Hot mess

This thing is a hot mess. Even after updating drivers CONS: - It will not do 144hz over display port and is capped at 120hz. I tried multiple cables all which worked on other monitors. - Changing from 60 to 120hz activates FALD and completely washes out colors. - Turning on HDR washes out colors even more - Occasional source scanning issues - Not a true 10 bit monitor. - Stand is a crime against humanity. Even when tilted forward as much as possible it still leans back slightly because the bottom of the monitor hits the stand. But you can tilt back almost as far as you want in case you are using it on the ground and looking down on it for some reason. - Sliding the monitor up or down on the stand actually move the monitor forward or backward because the stand is built like a ramp. _ Don't like the stand? Too bad because the cutout on the back of the monitor port will not fit most Vesa100 x1 00 mounts because of the way they flair slightly at the sides, so get out the grinder of you want to use one. - Colors are so oversaturated and blown out that everyone and everything looks orange and there is nor mode that clamps down on the color gamut to lock it at 100%. Plugging cables into the back of this thing is a total pain. I have to completely pick it up and turn it over to really get to the ports. - $900 and does not come with cables. Really?! - $900 for a 27 inch that should be 32 inches. The FALD is nice but the 96 zones are not worth the $400 premium over other monitors at this size PROS: - Build quality does feel pretty good overall. - FALD does seem to add to the experience but is not worth the premium. - Image is very crisp but it's 4K so that's to be expected

Picture quality is nice but signal detection is awful. Sometimes requires a hard reset, unplugging the power, to get it to reacquire a signal. Have never seen anything like this on a monitor before. If you only have a single source, or do not use more than one monitor, then it might be ok.

Had high hopes but was ultimately unhappy and had to return it. First off, I had no issues with using this monitor with my PS5. The quality was pretty good. I enoyed playing my RPGs on it. So no complaints there. My biggest issue was when it came time to use it on my PC. I purchased a high-end DP cable that could handle the high refresh rate at 4K. Like several others, mines kept flickering to the point where I ended up with a black screen. A couple days later they released an update that seemingly fixed the problem at first as I was no longer at a dead end with the black screen. I slowly started noticing the screen flickering about every 45-60 seconds. For the price I paid I shouldn’t be dealing with these issues. This was the deciding factor for me.

I will start by saying this is amazing for console gaming. You get two HDMI 2.1 ports and high refresh rates. Additional support for PS5 users that detects gaming vs media content and then automatically makes picture adjustments. All the above work flawlessly. The onboard speakers are weak. No denying that. The problem area and what ultimately caused me to return it is the display port. I tried every cable I had and even purchased a new Display Port 1.4 just to ensure it wasn't hardware related. I would get random input switching in the middle of gaming on display port which put my gaming on hold for 30 seconds or more each time. NOT GOOD. I found multiple other reddit posts that indicated a similar issue with this monitor. In summary, great for consoles and HDMI gaming but stay away if using Display Port.

      Hi Realcinema,

Thank you for reaching out to us with your concern. While we're glad you like the excellent picture, we regret to hear that you are experiencing flickering issues with your gaming monitor when VRR is enabled. For optimum performance, make sure that the software version of the monitor is up-to-date. You may refer to this link for more information: https://helpguide.sony.net/tv/u27m90/v1/en/contents/TP1000670514.html

The screen may flicker depending on the game and graphics mode used (particularly fidelity mode). You can perform these troubleshooting steps:

      1. If there are multiple graphics modes in a game, select a different mode.
      2. Alternatively, you can turn off Enable 120 Hz Output in the PS5 console’s system settings by going to Settings → Screen and Video → Enable 120 Hz Output → Off.
      3. If the issue still occurs, turn off VRR on PS5 by going to Settings → Screen and Video → VRR → Off.

Listen the monitor has good image quality for only 97 zones I will give it that. Perfect all the time no but if you plan to mainly game you wont see many issues so long as you can deal with blooming here and there. Now here is the major issue. I have had a case open with Sony since the monitor launched because of all the signal issues (Random disconnects when playing console and signal handshake issues while changing sources) I have had with it. Today Sony called me back and offered a buy back for the monitor. They seem more interested in closing the case than fixing the product a this point. They noted to me they have no idea how long it will take to fix the monitor (or if they can but that is me being skeptical). Just wanted to inform anyone looking at this monitor.

I really wanted to like this monitor, and i did loke a lot about it, however i ran into too many techincal issuea that i had to return it. While gaming, the screen would go black randomly and search for an input. Tried different cords, played around with settings, but nothing worked. It didnt have all the time but enough to interrupt mysession and cause fristartion. The fastest mode creates a lot of glitches too so much so that you csnt really play on it. The picture wuality is really good but too many issues to deal with for the price you pay. I got the LG Oled monitor instead and that is way better for a similar price.

      Hi Samuel,

We regret to hear that you were not completely satisfied with the INZONE M9. Your feedback is extremely important to us and is very much appreciated. For optimum performance, it is recommended to install the latest software version of the monitor. It is also recommended to use a High Speed HDMI cable or the latest version of a display port cable. Sometimes cables are the easiest cause for concern and fix most issues. If multiple devices are connected to the monitor, you do have the option to disable the auto input search to manually select a specific input.

Thanks again for sharing your review and we hope you will consider Sony for your future purchases.

Great picture and colors. Amazing response times and input lag. Where it falls short is the local dimming feature, its way too distracting as there isnt enough dimming zones. Without FALD turned on, it was the worst IPS glow I'd ever seen. And the build quality also sucks, feels super cheap. The input auto switching is terrible, takes forever and turns the screen off for way too long. The auto tone mapping is kinda useless since you have to reset the monitor in order to use it on PS5. Overall, cant recommend this as it has too manu faults at its price.

      Hi csrzxo,

We regret to hear that you are not completely satisfied with the INZONE M9. Your feedback is extremely important to us and is very much appreciated. For optimum performance, make sure that the software version of the monitor is up-to-date. Please refer to these links for more information:

Make sure that all connections are secured. It is also recommended to use a High Speed HDMI cable or the latest version of a display port cable. Sometimes cables are the easiest cause for concern and fix most issues. Additionally, you can use the INZONE Hub software. With this app, you can personalize experiences by customizing a wide range of operations, including a variety of sound and picture settings.

If you are unable to set your desired Picture Adjustments, please note that the available settings differ depending on Preset mode or input signals:

-When the Preset mode is set as Standard, FPS game, or Cinema: Sony provides optimized picture settings by default, and menu items are grayed out, except Brightness, Local Dimming and Aspect Ratio.

-When the Preset mode is set to Game 1 or Game 2: Can be adjusted with desired settings. If Eco mode is on, the menu items are grayed out.

-When the input signal is HDR: Only Local Dimming and the Aspect ratio can be set. For additional brightness, contrast and gamma control, please try changing Black Equalizer setting from 0 – 3, under the Gaming Assist menu.

If you wish to individually customize your picture quality settings, we recommend turning HDR off and setting your Picture mode to Game 1 or Game 2. When using the INZONE M9 with a Windows PC, we recommend downloading the INZONE Hub software to seamlessly control the monitor settings.

Please also note that if you set the Local dimming to Low or Off, this may cause the whole screen to look washed out.
