Helpful Info if you are considering this phone

I loved this system, but it wasn't working with my cell phones, so I was due an upgrade on my cell phone, so I did some research to figure out which phone to get, so it would work with my cell phones. It is so worth it because we love: answering either cell phone or landline from 1 of 5 phones program each phone for a different ring so we know right off whose cell phone or landline is calling dowload the cell phone number books, and program landline phone numbers into only 1 phone, and all extensions get it automatically it automatically connects to my cell phone when I pull into the garage, and it automatically disconnects as I leave. No more having to carry my cell phone with me. clear sound intercom and speaker We love ours so much we got one for one of our daughters and her husband-they have no landline, but they both have IPhones, and it works great for them. No more running through the house to answer a cell phone, or missing calls because they didn't hear it. Not to mention the safety issue- they now have easier phone access in case of an emergency. So hear is how I researched it. My phone Nokia Mural works perfect with it, my husbands Samsung works good except it won't download his phone book. First, go to vtech.com website, find this system, go to it, and go to the bluetooth tab. It lists all the cell phones they have tested that work good with this, however, there are lots of other phones that work with it, but they just haven't tested them all. If your phone isn't listed, go to phonescoop.com, find your phone, and look at the bluetooth connectivity specs. I knew the IPhones worked with it, so I compared phones known to work, with the phones I was considering upgrading to. I figured that it is most important to have the bluetooth version 2.0 or better. It has to have HFP and HSP. My husbands Samsung C417 works with it, but it won't download the phone book, so PBA is important to have, if you want to download the phone book. A2DP seems to be important to have too. I had read somewhere that the main base for the phone won't work right if it is near a computer, and that is very true. Ours was working fine the most of the time, but I was realizing that if I was on my labtop when I answered the phone, it messed up bad. Then I moved the main base to a different location, away from where my laptop is, and it works great. Also you will find that your cell phone will need charging more often, so we just automatically place our cell phones on the chargers every other night, and that seems to work good. It is important to have your cell phone within 30 feet of the base, so no more walking around with your cell phone in your pocket. Just remember, the bluetooth of the Vtech is in the main base, so your cell phone needs to be within 30 feet of it for it to work. I hope this info is helpful. This is a great system, and I think everyone that has a cell phone they use alot, or if you don't have a landline, this is almost a necessity!! Not only for the convenience, but for safety.

These are great phones. The Bluetooth is a great convenience especially using the address book off the mobile. Great range and the speaker phone works well. The intercom is fantastic. You can forward calls to different handsets or just call them. We've tried several brands over the years, these are by far the best for range and clarity we've owned. The menus are simple to follow so even my wife likes it. The only bad thing is the wall mount is ugly. I made a little shelf to hide it.

I bought this phone to replace a 7 year old Uniden which was a nice phone in it's day, but was suffering recently from static and low battery life even after replacing them yearly for the past two years. I work from home 2-3 days a week so this phone is used both for personal and professional use. I own a 8310 blackberry curve and connecting this device and also a bluetooth motorola ear piece was extremely easy. The cell phone connection has disconnected from the blue tooth once and I'm not sure why, it's remained connected and connects as soon as I walk into the house without issue otherwise. Sound is super clear. Setup is extremely easy. Cons, no belt clip for phone and would be nice to have a 1 click directory access (takes about 3 clicks and some scrolling to get into the directory), also allows only two active bluetooth devices at a time but allows you to store 4. Would be nice to have two cell phones and a headset active (3 devices). These are minor nuiances. Has Intercom which works great. Also allows multiple handsets to participate in a call. Being able to have three people talking each on a different handheld for a phone call is great, something all my original phones had and my past Uniden did not allow. Also has speaker phone. Has hold button, mute button. Buttons light up when pressed. This is a very good buy in my opinion. Does everything I need .

    Very Nice Phone

In all this is a very good phone set. Sound quality is good and range hasn't been a problem at all in my 2 story 2K square foot home. I can go anywhere in the house with the base station in an upstairs bedroom and talk with no interference and clear sound. The bluetooth feature is quite nice. I have an older HTC windows mobile phone through sprint and this phone system paired with it no problem and works beautifully. I can place and recieve calls no problem at all. It paired with the ` 3 year old Windows Mobile HTC as a hands free set and works like a charm. I wish the base station had a key pad and speaker phone for placing and recieving calls but the hand sets are sufficiently loud and pick up well enough in speaker phone mode. Also, the handsets could use a belt clip to make it easy to cary around with you but that's a small thinng as well. Overall I'm quite pleased with the phone.

I really wish there are more products to choose from otherwise this would not have been my first choice. Good points: We live in a long ranch and it can still pick up. As soon as I pull into the garage, the Blue tooth picks up. My husbands phone which is a little older sometimes needs to be paired. Best to set your cell phone down somewhere close to the base unit. Problems: Slight 1/2 second after you press a button before phone reacts. Buttons don't feel good and springy but rather like a child's toy. I make a lot of dials so the way the buttons feel in my hand means a lot to me - can't dial fast with this phone. The phone book (after download from cell is a little funky and hard to look up because the buttons react slowly. Takes forever to page down to the one you want or to lookup). Biggest dissppoinment: Ocassionally, when a cell call comes in, and I hit the answer button, it does not connect but continues to ring. At this point, you are out of luck and can only answer the call on your cell. System freezes and has to be reset by unplugging the battery of the power source from the base. Read the instructions (no mention of this problem) and it actually says something like this.... When all else fails, use the old reliable method of disconnecting the power source. Basically... REBOOT ! Don't worry, you don't lose your address book or paired devices. It's not the best product and I am surprised that there aren't other more competitive products out there... because if there were, I would probably ditch this one and get something else.

I bought this set to replace on older Uniden set of phones that have outlived their life. I was drawn in by the Blue Tooth Feature and it does work nicely. I have a two story home and the range max is 30 ft, I get to the ends of the house it does drop the Blue Tooth connection. I like others think a belt clip would be nice, but it is lacking. I have had problems getting my cell phone directory to sync with the phones and it has been sporadic to get the directory downloaded. The other missing feature that my previous Uniden phones had was the one touch speed dial, this set doesn't have that feature, it requires fumbling through at least two menu's which is cumbersome. Clarity and voice are great. No interference and battery life is good and a nice base unit as well.

I have been looking for a bluetooth cordless phone for a while. The reason that has been holding me back is the expansion cost and the technology. The cost component has come down dramatically on this phone. 3 handset unit is below $100, and additional headset is only $20-30. I have read about nightmares for the earlier bluetooth cordless phone. Because of the flexible return policy at Best Buy, I can always return it if the technology does not work. First, the DECT 6.0 works very well. I stream video thru slingbox wireless at home. The DECT 6.0 does not interfere with the typical wireless signal. The basic phone function is excellent. Voice quality, loudness are excellent. Product exterior design is clean, and the headset is comfortable to hold. Speakerphone is very loud. (This phone is easier to hold and operate than the other vTech LS6245 which is good to look at and hard to hold or dial the numbers). Talk time is extremely long (initial charge time is long as well - 16 hrs). It has a number of ringtones to distinguish whether the call is from the landline or the cell phone. Bluetooth setup is a breeze. You can hook up 2 cell phones to the unit. You can even upload the phone book up to the phone unit. If you place your cell phone too far away from the base unit (like over 16 ft), I can sense some reception issue. But if they are within 10 ft apart, the reception is very loud and clear. In a way, you cannot even tell the difference. Reconnecting the cell phone after you are back from work may not always work. Sometimes, it just automatically re-connect the cell phone. But there are times that it doesn't, you can hit a few buttons on your cell phone to reconnect it. There are a lot of gadgets on the phone. You can even hook up a bluetooth headset (those that you connect with your cell phone) to this phone so that you can roam around your house while you are talking (but this will utilize one of he 2 cell phone ports). There is conference call feature between the cell phone and the landline as well. I think that the bluetooth cordless phone tech is quite stable now. If you want to have more than 3 headsets, this system offers an attractive platform for you to outfit your entire house at reasonable costs.

    I LOVE THIS PHONE

It's SO neat cause it pairs via bluetooth to my cell phone and even sees my directory of numbers. You can use these phones to make a call from your cell without even using your cell phone. I never have good reception in my house so I found one spot in my kitchen cabinet that actually gets a couple of bars, I put it there after it's paired up and now if somebody calls me on my cell it rings on these handsets and I can take the call without worrying where I'm at in the house. You can even download your cell's directory right into these phones. In fact, a lot of people are using these types of phones paired with thier cells and getting rid of thier land line altogether.. which saves money. It pairs to the cell with no problem..just give it a few minutes and have the cell laid right next to the base phone when you do it. The instruction book is very easy to follow on how to use all the features. And there's tons of features. I love the memo feature because I can leave myself a memo and it flashes on the base phone and all handsets reminding me there is a memo of something I need to remember to do. Oh, and you can listen to messages left from others on the answering machine from any handset. The speakerphone is crystal clear on both ends. Sound quality is excellent on all handsets. You'll love this phone! So get it! I found a 10% off coupon which was great too.

    Best Dect 6 Bluetooth Wireless

I had a GE 28129FE2, which had many, many problems, but reviews of all other Dect 6 wireless systems with Bluetooth were equally as negative. I bought the DS6321-3 based on the reviews on this sight. It has been great so far (3 weeks). The call quality is very good. It connects to our 2 Sanyo Katana LX cell phones simultaneously every time. It was download and retain the cell phone directories (up to 2000 entries each) on the base in seperate folders available to all the handsets. Can set different ringtones for landline and each cell phone. Base also has 50 entry phonebook accessible by each handset. I'm not sure why the negative reviewer on this site had problems with the range. I can walk outside over 100 feet before I start getting dropout (thru an inner wall, outer wall and neighbors garage). The handsets are great. The keys feel solid. It clearly displays the source of incoming calls (land line or which cell) as well as caller ID. The handset also has icons to indicate answer machine has unread message and seperate icon for landline voicemail. The only negatives I have are: it doesn't seem to have speed dial capability; it only has 10 ringtones, none of which are that good (no generic old-school telephone ring). Also, handset does not have jack for headset (I wouldn't use this but others might).

I bought this phone to see if we could take our home phone off of Comcast and add it as a line to Sprint. It was no harder to set up than any other bluetooth connection I've used and was easier than most. Fidelity is great and the ability to pick up a cell phone call upstairs (yes it will handle several cell phones) is amazing. Just on saved phone expense, the phone will pay back in 5 months. This does not value the convenience of the system or the benefit of being able to travel with your home phone. no comment on durability as we've only had it about a month. There is nothing that seems especially breakable but it is too soon to tell.

    Works as advertised!

I purchased this phone due to poor cellular reception in my home with the thought of leaving the phone in a location where cellular signal is good and using it anywhere in the house. I was not let down, after letting the handsets charge for the recommended time as detailed in the manual, I had my Motorola Adventure V750 paired in minutes. Access to the cell phones contact list is easy, a contact from any phone can be dialed on any other phone connected. While researching a bluetooth home phone I say no mention of text messaging on any product similar to this, and to clarify for those of you who are wondering, text messages cannot be accessed, sent, or received from this phone. Those with Direct Connect or Push to Talk service will not be able to use those features either. This phone does not have a mini-jack for a wired headset, a bluetooth headset or the speaker phone will have to be used for hands free operation. As far as range goes I have had no issues with the handsets anywhere in my home, I cannot comment on a distance the handsets work outside of the house. I can say that as I am pulling into my driveway I hear the bluetooth sound from my phone signifying it has reconnected to the base station. Other reviews for this phone mention bluetooth issues and having to reconnect the phone constantly, I have not experienced that. In just over a month of use I have had to access the bluetooth menu on the handset once to reconnect my V750. 99% of the time when I enter the house it is connected and working. Overall I am happy with the phone and would recommend it to those with poor cellular reception in the home, or those wishing to dump their traditional phone provider. I did not rate Range as I have not tested the limits of the handsets, nor did I rate durability as I have not dropped or subjected my handsets to any type of trama. I can say the handsets do not feel flimsy, and are comfortable to talk on.

Basically this phone has many of the features that other phones of this type have so instead I'll just focus on the bluetooth feature. All I did was grab my cell phone and told my cell to turn it's bluetooth on and to communicate with devices searching for bluetooth. From any of the 3 handsets you select bluetooth from the menu and tell it too look for bluetooth enabled devices. Now my cell just asked if I wanted to connect to the phone or not and obviously I said yes. After selecting yes on my cell a few more times everything was set up. After the initial set up, the Vtech phone remembers the bluetooth devices (limit 2 in memory) you set up so next time all you have to do is keep your cell phone on, then pick up any handset and after about 3 menu items everything is set up. Now you can pick up any handset click the cell phone button on the handset and dial any number. This uses your cell phone minutes, but you can be anywhere in the house where your Vtech handset has a signal. This is convienent if you have unlimited air time or free long distance on your cell but not your landline. If someone calls your cell phone you can pick up any handset in the house to answer the call too. The manual said to leave your cell near the base station, but I took the cell phone out of line of sight (one wall) of the base station about 25 feet away and had no problems making cell calls or receiving them. I also powered down the cell phone in the same location, turned it back on, then used the Vtech handset to connect the bluetooth again and it connected just as easily as it did when the cell phone was right next to the base station. I've already implied this, but if you turn your cell off or leave the house with it, your Vtech will lose the signal and you will need to use a handset to remake the connection when you get home. it's not automatic. I don't have a bluetooth headset, so I can't tell you if both bluetooth devices work at the same time, only that a limit of 2 are stored in memory. I've alluded to some improvements for the bluetooth, but it's only a $90 phone system, so it's pretty good for the price. Since this focuses on bluetooth and cells it's nice to note you can download your cell contacts (limit 50) automatically into the handset. I didn't try this yet, but if I do I will update this. Addition handsets at bestbuy.om are only $20. Some sets it's $20 just for replacement batteries, so not a bad deal.

I've read reviews on lots of Bluetooth phones that were all bad. This one the reviews were good, so I tried it and it really is great. Best sound quality I ever heard in a cordless phone and lots of volume. Speaker phone is good too. Range is awesome. I can go 2 houses down the street and still talk. About 250 ft. Easy to set up and works great with my 2 cell phones. Nice that you can download addressbook from the phones. Would be nice if you could also upload into the cell phone. It feels pretty solid. I've recommended it to a number of people.

    Excellent Product !

I purchased these over other brands because of the features, especially the Blue tooth feature and I'm happy I did. I can now leave my cell within range of the base station as I get home and use any handset in the house to answer any incoming calls or make outgoing calls via my cell phone line from any of the handsets (we have 5 handsets connected to our base). My wife does the sames, so it basically turns into a three line system (although you can only use any two lines simultaneously - both cells or one cell and land line). Just make sure that you assign a different ring tone to each of the cells and your land line so you can tell which of the three lines are receiving a call. You have to do this on each individual handset, doing this on one will only program that individual handset. The range is excellent and the clarity is fantastic ! These are hard to beat, especially when you consider the price. I looked at Panasonic's system but decided on the V-Techs and am really glad I did. My only gripe, which is something I can live with, is not being able to name each hand set so that it makes it easier to call another handset via the intercom feature. You have to know the number of the handset and where it is in your home in order to page it. My last set of cordless phones allowed me to name each one so it made it easier to page a particular handset as we were able to name them: i.e.: Game Room, Kitchen, etc.

I normally steer clear of brands that give the impression of being the low cost over everything brand such as my perception of VTech. I remeber VTech as the brand sold in Pharmacies and Food Centers. After comparing features, look and price, I decided to buy this phone and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the voice over my Vonage line, this phone made it sound even clearer and more crisp. The design leaves a small footprint wherever you may set the bases for the handsets and the blue tooth functionality is better than expected. I thought I would never use it but have transfered 3 cell phone directories and linked my cell phone to the base while home. Doing this I can answer both cell calls and house calls with my bluetooth headset. Very cool.

Works well, but watch the details

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I bought this system to allow me to link my cellphones to my home phones, and get rid of my expensive landline. This works exactly as advertised, and my cellphones automatically connect to the base station as I walk into the house. Just occasionally, when the cellphone signal is weak and the link is lost as I walk through the door, they won't link automatically, and I have to get a stronger cell signal and manually reconnect. But overall, this operation has worked well, and I am pleased with the way it's working. I have two minor niggles. The first concerns the sending of digits after an outgoing call has been connected. You often need to do this to enter a PIN or to navigate through those annoying voice menus that so many organizations use. Although my cellphones (Samsung M320) are listed as compatible, these digits don't get through. This results in me having to "wait on the line for an attendant" or having the other end disconnect the call, requiring me to have to redial the call directly with the cellphone - negating one of the system's benefits. I don't know whether this is a Bluetooth spec limitation, or is just my model, but watch this if this feature is important for you. The other thing that I find annoying is the way that the phonebooks are organized. I have entered a few names and numbers directly into the VTech, and have downloaded the directories from both cellphones. This results in me now having 3 separate lists in the VTech to have to search for the name I need when making a call. It would be much better if downloading a directory from a cellphone simply added any new names into one big list in the VTech - even if you had to go through afterwards and do some minor clean-up. Anyway, great product, and kudos to VTech for leading the way.

I looked around and found a few phones with the features that I liked and decided to give this one a try. I am glad that I did. Very easy to sync with my bluetooth cell phone. I had my cell's phonebook downloaded in no time and don't even need to add my numbers that were in my old landline becuase they are all in the cell contacts. The abiltiy to just leave the cell near the base and not need to go running downstairs when it rings makes it very convinent. Plus at night time I am not disturbed by those late night e-mails as the phone only alerts me to phone calls. Overall I am very happy with this product so far.

I bought this phone after having to sign up for a home phone to utilize a DSL connection in the country. This phone has been worth every penny. The location of my house is such that I only receive 1-2 bars of cells phone signal when I am in my kitchen. The rest of the house it hit or miss depending on which way the wind is blowing that day. I can now leave my cell in the kitchen and travel throughout the house on one of the headsets and not drop a call. In addition to this, if the bluetooth link is in use with another cell phone, I can still make a call on the home line. Simply ingenious!!! By the time I walk through the front door, my cell phone has already established a connection with the base unit - no extra work on my part after the initial set up. A must-have for anyone with spotty cell coverage in their house!
