Customers are saying
Customers consistently note the excellent convection cooking and ease of use of this over-the-range microwave. Many appreciate its quiet operation, attractive design, and the helpful sensor cooking feature. However, some users mention concerns about the sturdiness of the door and find the control panel somewhat challenging to navigate. The microwave's weight and the keypad's functionality are also mentioned as areas needing improvement.

So Far, So Good
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far, so good, I am enjoying this convection microwave. This is my second convection microwave. This one is much quieter, and the exhaust works even better. I love that it sends me a notification to my Apple Watch that lets me know when the cycle is complete as I can’t hear the microwave from other rooms like the previous model. The interior is easier to clean, and I love the steam function. The steaming basket was an accessory that came with the microwave. My favorite thing to cook using the convection oven and microwave simultaneously are sweet potatoes. They turn out well carmelized and sugary sweet after an hour. My only peeve is to do multi step cooking is not as intuitive as my previous model which only required the same one button being pressed. However, the plus side to this new system is that I can add a third stage which I couldn’t do before.

Nice, quiet, over the range microwave.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Upgraded an older whirlpool over the stove microwave partly to get the functionality of convection and microwave all in one. Very sleek design, super quiet microwave operation. Convection function works well if a tad noisy when cooking at higher temperatures and the extra fan kicks on but cooks evenly and quickly. Highly recommend this oven!

Whirpool Convection Oven
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Microwave is wonderful. I haven't had a chance to use all of it's function yet. But I love it! It works great, it is super quiet when running. It is easy to use. I love how the panel on the left is hidden until you touch it. It even has a setting that will just melts your butter. It senses your foods when you put it in and suggests a cooking time. It's a good purchase. Extremely Happy!

Great Microwave - VERY Quiet
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been really impressed with this microwave thus far. It's easy to use, cooks very evenly and is VERY quiet. My only complaint is I haven't been able to get it to connect the app on my phone. I haven't spent too much time to try to get it to work, but it definitely is flaky. If I could give half stars I'd probably lower my rating to 4.5 because of this, but it's much closer to 5 stars than 4.

Everything I wanted
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far -so good. Quieter than my old microwave. Exhaust fan works better than my last micro also. Perfect sensor potatoes, perfect popcorn. Looks great. Only negative is that the interior lighting is not as bright as I would like. Geek squad installation was quick and efficient. I recommend this micro/convection combo oven.

Scan to Cook Disappointing...
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using this microwave for about a month. It is very sleek and modern looking and is very quiet when running. It seems to cook food pretty evenly. I did not have any issues in connecting it to Whirlpool’s App, to my wifi and to my Alexa. However, to call it Smart, IMO, is a little exaggerated. Alexa can turn the microwave hood light and the fan on and off. I suppose that’s kind of convenient; I’ve just not had the need to have Alexa perform that task yet. My biggest complaint it the Scan to Cook technology. I have not found any frozen foods at my local Kroger’s or Walmart that this feature works with except the Digorno cheese pizza and a Stouffers meatloaf. I looked all over Whirlpool’s website for a list of foods that had capability to be scanned and cooked in this microwave and found no list. I called Whirlpool Smart Appliance Department and they told me there were many foods that could be scanned but that there was no list available to the public. IMO that’s a big fail on Whirlpool’s part. GE’s website has a huge list of foods that are scannable into their smart appliances; it makes absolutely no sense to me why, if you purchase a Scan to Cook appliance, a list isn’t made available to you of food items that will work. So for me, this feature that I was so excited to have is a pretty big fail. But again, the microwave/convection oven is very attractive and appears to cook very nicely. And the stainless fingerprint resistant finish is also very nice. Scan to Cook leaves something to be desired. Or maybe not-IF I JUST HAD A LIST OF FOODS THAT WOULD SCAN!

Not sure I made the right choice
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not sure what to think...My main complaint is the control panel. There is no back lighting until you press something so you can't even see what to press unless you already have bright lights on in the kitchen. My previous microwave had the control panel always lit so you could activate the microwave even in the dark. On this brand, only the clock is always lit. Furthermore, the actual panel is totally confusing!!! It is NOT intuitive and many of the symbols/words make no sense. No instructions were included for deciphering it, so with much aggravation, we tried & errored our way to figuring out how to use this microwave. Have simple words like 'start" or "stop" gone out of fashion? I have not used the convection feature yet, so can't assess that. I will have to go on Youtube to figure out how to use that as there's very little info in the booklet. The microwave is very quiet which I like. The door is big & heavy and you have to be careful to be far enough away before opening it or you will hit yourself in the head.

Glad I bought this microwave
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Runs very quiet. Very versatile. Love multi light level, multi-speed fan. People complained about fan noise, hi speed is loud yes, but slower speeds much quieter - I like having that choice. Love the convection mode too. If there was anything I’d change is that when you touch the menu so it lights up, that the numbers would also light. Yes, have to turn on lights or use flashlight to see #’s. Still - excellent unit.

Awesome microwave/convection oven
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent microwave and convection oven. Very quiet, looks great, large interior, convection works great. Have made casseroles and pizzas, it comes out as if done in the regular oven. Only wish is that the manual could be more specific for this model.

||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very nice Microwave. Easy to use and very quiet ! We have not had a change to use the Convection Oven yet but if it is anything like the Microwave I'm sure we will like it. Just a note, if you plan to install this item, it is very heavy.

Great microwave
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We love the quality of this microwave. It's very quiet and simple to use. I only wish Whirlpool's black stainless was a little shinier--the finish is somewhere between black stainless and black matte.

Just what I was looking for
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Convection capabilities, great use of interior space by using the included racks, only a slight bit taller than my old noisy as an old vacuum cleaner microwave, and phone app capabilities. Those were the features I was looking for. The controls might seem overwhelming at first, even for a 28 yr IT Administrator, but that’s a good thing and you can still just punch in the minutes and press play until you get the hang of the features. It is also a very quite device, and fearures the fan and under 2 stage range light. I am very pleased.
