Fairly easy to set up
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Reasonably easy to set up. Two cats in the house, they do not trigger false alarms. Unfortunately it requires the ADP hub and you lose some flexibility in how you can set things up if you own a regular SmartThings hub.

Works as Advertised
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. With all the negative reviews, I believe people are just not understanding how this system functions. This motion sensor is for the SmartTHings ADT Hub and works great. It detects motion as it should and triggers the alarm as it should. Easy to setup through the SmartThings hub.

Samsung - SmartThings ADT Motion
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Samsung SmartThings ADT Motion Detector works great with the SmartThings ADT Hub. Not only can the motion be used for the security setting of the hub but also for automation. I have my motion detector that covers the kitchen area turn on the light bulb over the sink, and setup a rule for only to turn on the light fixture for 5 minutes on motion during a set time period of an hour before sunset and up until 90 minutes after sunrise.

Works great! But ADT monitoring is EXPENSIVE
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This item works great for a self-monitored system, because ADT monitoring for items you own is stupidly expensive.

Must have ADT
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I cant give a valid review as i returned after opening one. I found out after installing one that you have to sign up to ADT monitoring and have the ADT hub for this to work. I thought it would work with smartthings just looking at the title. Should have read further
No, I would not recommend this to a friend - Cons mentioned:Adt hub

Good motion detector
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would give it a 5 stars but you need to have a ATD hub everything else works great.

Q: QuestionI have a 15 to 20 year-old ADT System made by GE. Can I add this motion detector to that controller? My controller somehow now has my motion detectors set to fire without delay? Is this mandatory? While OK in some areas, it's not in all.
Asked by DJ1505.
- A:Answer Hello there. These sensors can not be added to an ADT system because ADT lock's there equipment. These are made for the new DIY SmartThings system that ADT will monitor. However, you would want to call ADT to service your equipment. If the motion had a delay before maybe it was changed in error by a recent service tech?

Q: QuestionI have a Samsung SmartThings hub but no ADT hub. Can I connect these motion sensors to the Samsung hub or do I need to have an ADT hub too? If possible, how do I connect it to the Samsung hub?
Asked by tryingtolearn.
- A:Answer I purchased several of these prior to the hurricane in Florida last year and didn’t try to install until after repairs had been made, only to find out they cannot be used. I have over $100 worth of the ADT brand that I cannot do anything with. The sales person when I asked said: no you don’t need ADT for them to work. Now I have several that I cannot do anything with.

Q: Questionwill these work on the old smartThings hub? Or are the old hubs obsolete now ? Hate to buy New system...
Asked by bug293.
- A:Answer Sorry but this will not work with the old hub. It uses a new encripted radio that is only in the new Smartthings ADT Touchscreen hub. WIth the new ADT hub the only these are the only devices that can be monitored by ADT. I hope this helps.
