easy hardwire for dashcam
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed to hardwire a garmin dashcam and I cant find a decent review of this product but I ordered it anyway and I turned out it pretty good. I tapped the 2 wires to the overhead consoles power and it powers the dashcam whenever Im in the car. I didnt try connecting it to the fuse box so i cant say about the parking mode.

No issues.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this to power a usb hub in my car. I was maxed out if my girl and her daughter and i were all charging our phones. This allowed me to add ports in the event i needed gps or something else. Install is very easy. I put this on a switched accessory because i want it to power off when the car does.

Q: QuestionCan you connect it to the fuse box?
Asked by Gee.
- A:Answer You could if you bought an inline fuse also. But the way it comes no this splices into wiring. Which isnt much different. If your powerpoints(cigarette lighter) are switched accessories you could just crimp it to that wiring assuming you want your device to power off when the car does(switched accessory). If you dont want it to power down when the car is off then you can pretty much tap into any 12v fused source but i wouldnt go over 15amps

Q: QuestionCan I hook a dash cam and gps both to this unit
Asked by Curious.
- A:Answer I did. This only has one port. So i ordered a splitter from ebay for like 5 bucks so i could split the 1 port into 2. I have a garmin gps and rexxing front/rear dashcam powered from this. It would also depend on how many amps both of your devices would draw. I split mine at the end of a usb mini 2.0 wire with a usb mini 2.0 splitter. That eliminated running 2 wires down from the mirror.
