Perfect for the price
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the price you pay this is an amazing camera. Good quality, good sound. The speaker can be a bit louder when talking through the camera but for the price I understand. Highly recommended for first timers in security.

I needed a cam, so I got this one .....
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Set up is fairly easy. Limited access if you have more than one camera, cannot see 2 cameras with one app. Had problems with one unit going off line nightly, not sure if it was the cold temps or what but has worked well in warm temps and it's replacement has worked well in colder temps. (Had another cam that was working while the Kasa was down). Other wise it is a neat little cam for the price.

Worth the price
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's what you expect for the price and a bit more. Audio is ok at the best, and infrared works pretty good. Image is ok, but I realize that the lack of movements and zoom make it good for generic places only, not somewhere you want the option to dig in more.

Great little camera for price.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great little camera for price. Can add on later if you want. Several possibilities with it. It has free phone notification and viewing or you pay small monthly fee for extras.

Affordable. Good for price
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works well with Kasa phone app. Wide view and let’s you select activity zones you want notifications from. Only complaint is the app no longer sends sound notifications? Have to rely on my blink cameras for that

Q: QuestionDoes the camera continuously record to the Micro SD card or only when it senses movement? How long will it record on a 128GB Micro SD card? If the card gets full, does the footage loop over the oldest recordings?
Asked by AvonBob.
- A:Answer Yes, you can set up the camera for continuous recording to a locally inserted Micro SD card. If you would like, you can also simultaneously configure motion/audio detection; however the clips recorded via these triggers will be both marked in the 24/7 recording on the SD card, and simultaneously uploaded to the cloud for an extra layer of redundancy and security. Once your Micro SD card reaches maximum capacity, the oldest recordings will be overwritten first. How long this takes will vary depending on the level of activity being recorded. For example, a 32GB Micro SD card may allow between 1 to 2 weeks of continuous recording, depending on the level of activity captured. Please ensure you are using a Class 10 Micro SD card for optimal compatibility and reliability. If you have any other questions, please feel free to email Kasa.Support@TP-Link.com and we'll gladly follow up.

Q: QuestionDo you have to pay monthly to record footage or is it free to save ?
Asked by Kate.
- A:Answer If you install an SD card into the camera, you don’t have to pay. But the app treats SD card recordings differently from the paid cloud recordings - the cloud recordings are easier to access and are better linked to events you get notifications about; I feel as if they did this on purpose to encourage people to pay. Also, if you install an SD card AND pay for cloud recordings, the camera will record to both at the same time.

Q: QuestionSo far so good. Can I connect it to a monitor so that I can monitor simultaneously as the camera is recording? Or show me away that I can monitor while it is recording ?
Asked by Bayram.
- A:Answer I don't see any way to connect it directly to a monitor, such as a flat panel display, if that is what you mean. You can install the Kasa app to your smart phone and use it to view what the camera sees in near real time. From what I see, there is perhaps a one second or so lag between live and what you see on the phone. I don't believe there is any app or browser function to view the camera from a PC.

Q: Questioncan it work through a window
Asked by p.
- A:Answer Works fine when used inside viewing out of a window but will pick up a reflection with night mode ( can be disabled in app) as the ir light collects on the glass surface.

Q: QuestionI'm planning to leave it at the house when we are away like 200 miles away.. Can I still access it through my phone while I'm like 200 miles away? Note: i will use phone data remotely to access the camera..
Asked by CJ.
- A:Answer Yes, as long as the camera still has a stable wifi connection, you can access it from the other side of the globe.

Q: QuestionIf this is a wireless camera, why is there a power cord?
Asked by Curious.
- A:Answer By "wireless" they mean you do not need a network cable because it has a built in wifi chip. It still needs to be plugged into an outlet to receive power.

Q: QuestionCan you view on the app continuously without recording. So for example can you see in real time on your phone app for hours at a time. Some cameras only view for 30sec and then you have to tap the icon to turn on live view again.
Asked by New.
- A:Answer Yes you can, most of the time I have it open when the kids are playing in the room so I can keep a eye on them. It also have two-way intercom. You will be able to chat to and listen as well.

Q: QuestionCan this record continuously to the SD card WITHOUT detecting any motion? If yes, does this camera it embed a date/time visible in the recorded video on the SD card?
Asked by ThatGuyOverThere.
- A:Answer Yes. You can record continuously to SD card with sensors turned off. This camera has sensors for motion, people and sound. You can turn each on or off at will. You can change the overall sensitivity for sound or motion. You can designate a specific area of view for motion sensitivity, as well as the length of time of motion to trigger an event (record a clip, send a notification, turn on a light via smart home integration, etc). You can limit/filter the number of notifications to reduce the annoyance factor. These events can be noted/highlighted in the timeline bar that is shown with the continuous video recording to local memory card. Sensors that have been turned off will not be highlighted in the timeline.
