Q: Is this drive compatible with Mac and Time Machine, and Apple encryption? Do you have to reformat?
A: It is compatible with Mac after a quick format by Time Machine. Encryption Also worked.
Q: Can I use this with my PS4?
A: yes this is compatible with the ps4 and xbox one, because of the 3.0 ports on the side and back of the consoles. easy to use and set up in order to free up space on the hard drive.
Q: Does this drive work with an Xbox one?
A: Yes BUT the Xbox One will reformat the drive so any backup software or anything else on the drive will be removed via the reformat. You can use it on the Xbox One without a reformat BUT you can not save any game or game data. It will take a while to "move" your games and any add-ons to the external drive. You can also copy your data as a backup but it will only work on the machine having the original data / games.
A: Hard drive manufacturers use bytes to sell their drives. In reality, GB is the measurement. To have 4GB, you need 4,294,967,296 bytes. The drive has 4,000,000,000 bytes or 3.72529GB. 1024 bytes = 1kb 1024 kb = 1mb 1024 mb = 1gb 1024 X 1024 X 1024 = GB So 4,000,000,000/1024/1024/1024 = 3.72529GB

A: If you check the model number, you’ll see there are the exact same unit. Better deal and you get the thumb drive!
Q: Does this work on MAC, PC or both? Can I unplug it from one and plug it into the other?
A: I own Mac/Apple products and work has PCs. I own 4 of these and use them on both. Simply Google formatting an external drive for Mac and PC, and you should be good to go. These things are great!
Q: Does it include a usb cord? It doesn't say anything in the specifications.
A: Yes, all of the WD easystore drives that I have come with USB cords as they have a special high-speed connection for the data drive. Interchangeable among the WD drives.
