Does the Job!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Replaced my 10 year old piece of junk dehumidifier after it flooded my brand new floor. I have a split level so the downstairs gets very humid in the summer. This runs much quieter than my old one, but you can still hear it a bit if you are in the other room. I set it to 40% humidity, so it pretty much runs constantly so far. It's been an extremely humid July/August/September. Electric bill is higher due to the constant running, but electric rates have sky-rocketed, so not really the fault of the dehumidifier. I like the style, weight, controls, etc. Bucket isn't awkward to remove and put back in. To sum up - it does the job WELL, and fairly quietly.

Great for basement use with drain hose
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed a dehumidifier for the basement of my 2,800 square foot two story house. I read about this model and purchased it knowing it had an optional hose attachment I could use since I have a drain that goes to my sump pump area in my basement. I had the unit shipped to my house. Set up took about 5 mins mostly reading the directions and removing packinging material. I started by using the standard bucket that comes with the unit. This did fill quite quickly, easily being emptied once every six hours. After the first week, I installed the hose attachment. I cut about a 2.5 foot piece of extra hose I had and made a gentle grade from the hose output (left side when looking at the front of the unit) and emptying into my drain. I have the humidity set at 50. The unit works great, no drips from the hose connection, drains into my drain fine, gets the humidity to about 48 in the basement, shuts down the condenser, then if it stays there, shuts down the fan until the humidity goes above 50% or so. For the cost of this unit with the hose attachment it is great for my use. If you are going to use the bucket option, be ready to be emptying the bucket 2 times a day to keep the humidity down. I am very happy with my purchase.

Great for small area
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This dehumidifier looks nice, is easy to setup and use, and is relatively quiet. A few things stopped me from giving it a 5. There is no place to put the plastic hose adapter if the internal bucket is used so there's a chance of it getting lost or misplaced. The timer is good for just one setup so I can't just have it run only at night without resetting the timer each day. Even though the fan is pretty quiet it would be nice to have an automated way for it to run just certain hours a day. I wish I had gotten a higher capacity version in order to reduce the humidy faster and potentially it wouldn't have to run as much.

It run quiet and it works well.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My basement is finished but it gets a little musty during the warmer months. This unit runs quiet and looks nice and it keeps the humidity down to about 30% which is perfect. I let the water drip continuously into the sump pit so there is no maintenance, just turn it on in the spring and turn it off in the fall.

Frigidaire 30 pt Dehumidifier
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Does a great job for the upstairs of our 3 br apt where the humidity was really heavy. Being only a 30pt capacity the bucket was full roughly every other day. Which isn't a bad thing (for my family at least) as my sons are both Autism Spectrum so we made it part of the routine to empty the water. The filter is also really easy to clean too. Cleaning the bucket is a bit more difficult until you get the hang of how best to remove to clear plastic cover and IT DOES NEED TO BE CLEANED at least every 2 weeks (I wipe it out with a damp cloth weekly to prevent buildup, but that's a personal choice). It runs great, I set it to 55% and it was noticably less humid within an hour or so of turning it on. I highly recommend this product to those looking for something that is not highly expensive but that does what it's needed to do. Looking at a 50pt dehumidifier version of this for our basement.

Small but effective
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We put this dehumidifier in a cistern that was converted into a storage area and and it started to smell of moisture. This little dehumidifier might be small but it takes the moisture right out of the air. I install a hose on it instead of filling the bucket and it drains real well. Installing the hose was easy.

Great product at a reasonable price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a small and efficient dehumidifier to use in the bathroom to quickly remove the steamy moisture after taking a shower. This Frigidaire 30 Pint was the perfect choice. The mirror no longer fogs up and the amount of water that it collects quickly is amazing. This little unit works great!

Q: Questionwhat size room does a 30 pint dehumidifier cover? what size room does a 50 pint dehumidifier cover?
Asked by mary.
- A:Answer I purchased the 30 pint. I looked on Frigidaire's site but couldn't find a room size. I use it for our basement which is pretty big (30x25). It works great and it constantly drains using a hose that I attached.

Q: QuestionCools the temperature of a room?I'm looking for a device which is not an AC neither a fan that can cool the air temperature of my room. I already have a Dyson fan and my room is still super hot and would not like to buy an AC or a portable one. Would a dehumidifier work? Thank you.

- A:Answer Air conditioners act like dehumidifiers and remove the humidity but also blow air through the chilled A coil in your furnace which goes into the home through your registers. The dehumidifier only remove humidity, however, removed humidity makes the living space more comfortable. You will still need to supplement this with air conditioning. For example 74 degree air with 43% humidity feels as comfortable as 71 degree air with 57% humidity. Removing humidity is a must for comfort. Your air conditioner fights the humidity that is rising from your basement.

Q: QuestionIs this unit on wheels?
Asked by Sandy Survivor.
- A:Answer Yes it is on wheels. They aren't heavy duty but work fine on our cement basement floor. Its a little tougher to push on carpet but all dehumidifiers seem that way in my opinion.

Q: QuestionIs there a reason why this dehumidifier says in the name and in the description that it removes 30 pints per day when the specs say the following: Moisture Removal Capacity - 15 pints per day. Is this a mistake or the usual marketing BS?
Asked by John.
- A:Answer Hello John! We have reviewed the specifications for the dehumidifier FFAD3033R1 and show that it will remove up to 30 pints of water a day (24 hour period). We will send the necessary information over to get the website corrected. Hopefully this information is helpful to your shopping experience. –Thanks!-
