Q: Can it be used without hardwiring it
A: Absolutely. Comes with a battery which you charge via standard USB-C connector. Mine is wired, so not sure how long the battery lasts, but my guess is that normal usage maybe would require you to recharge 2-3 times a year (I'm fully guessing here). Net Net is that it's got a battery. It does not require wiring to an existing doorbell wire.

Cool dual-view camera for increased security
Great dual-view wired or wireless doorbell. Fits in with our Wyze infrastructure and was a quick install, but a massive upgrade to our former wired push button doorbell. Came with an included chime so now we can hear the door ring throughout the house. This Duo-Cam is super convenient. One camera faces outward like most video doorbells, but it has a second camera which faces downward towards the stoop which is fantastic to know if you have had a package delivery (or just want to check the snowfall levels). Strangely, I also notice that since it shows as a split screen on my Wyze app, I can see what what people have in the hands (package, clipboard, nothing, and hopefully not a weapon). It's just second nature now for me to be able to anticipate what the person at door's intention is, which I suppose is an added safety factor. Overall, very pleased. We purchased a second Duo Cam for another door and it works perfectly as well. In our case both are wired, but these have batteries and work fine in a non-wired mode as well. We were able to set the sound for the second door's chime (which is a separate device which comes with this) to be different, so we know which door to run to which is also very helpful. We ended up much more pleased than we anticipated.

Nice product, short battery life
I do like the idea of this product. I was a little surprised the battery life on this door cam does not last very long. I did trade out the battery just to make sure but still the battery goes dead. I believe in two weeks or less for us. Does have a good picture and I do like the two camera feature.
