The PowerDetect NeverTouch Pro robot vacuum and mop system is designed to capture more, reach farther, and need you less (vs. Shark Matrix 2-in-1). Its five powerful cleaning technologies help to target hidden debris, stuck-on stains, edges and to optimize cleaning for every floor type, handling the toughest cleaning challenges. Whether vacuuming or mopping, the PowerDetect robot does the dirty work, so you don't have to. It deep-cleans and mops your floors, while the NeverTouch Pro base means you don’t have to worry about cleanup or maintenance for weeks at a time. After every cleaning run, the robot will return to the base to empty debris, refill the water tank, and wash and dry the mopping pad so it’s always ready for its next clean— maintenance-free cleaning for up to a month. With NeverStuck Technology, the robot lifts itself over obstacles and across thresholds to avoid getting stuck. When mopping, it keeps the pad above carpets to prevent wet messes and deliver whole-home coverage. While the robot handles your cleaning chores for you, the bagless base with Anti-Allergen Complete Seal captures and traps 99.97% of dust and allergens (down to .3 microns, allergens refers to non-living matter).

The Shark Matrix Plus 2-in-1 Robot combines an ultra-powerful vacuum with Sonic Mopping for a complete clean from start to finish. First, it’s an ultra-powerful whole home vacuum on carpets and floors that empties its own dustbin. Second, it’s an ultra-powerful vacuum that sonic mops hard floors at the same time. It features Matrix Clean, which allows your robot to clean from multiple angles using a precision grid ensuring no spots are missed on all your floor types. No cleaning detail is unmet with this robot’s corner and edge cleaning, self-cleaning brushroll for pet hair, and HEPA filtration trapping 99.97% of dust and allergens into the bagless base. With Precision Home Mapping, the robot uses its 360 LIDAR vision to scan your home and build a detailed map, enabling fully autonomous movement. This also allows your robotic vacuum to detect and avoid objects in its path day or night. It creates a precise home map in the SharkClean app so you can select specific areas to clean on-demand, initiate Matrix Clean, and set cleaning schedules from anywhere. Utilize the app to set custom carpet and no-go zones for complete control of where the robot cleans and doesn’t clean. This robot masterfully integrates Matrix Clean with vacuuming, mopping, CleanEdge, and self-emptying to give you the ultimate floor cleaning machine.

Experience up to a month of hands-free cleaning with the Shark PowerDetect ThermaCharged 2-in 1 Robot vacuum and Mop. Its NeverTouch Pro Base washes the mop with 185°F water, dries with 175°F air, and empties debris automatically. With Dirt Detect, edge-to-edge cleaning, Neverstuck charged technology, and DryGuard protection, it delivers nonstop, deep-cleaning performance.

This is one of the most premium, hands-off cleaning robots on the market. It doesn't just vacuum; it mops and then cleans itself (refills water, empties dust, and washes/dries the mop pad). As a prize, it has a massive "wow" factor because it frees the winner from chores for a month at a time.

SharkNinja , a world renowned manufacturer of home cleaning & kitchen appliances, was founded in 1994. Based in Needham, Massachusetts, Shark spun off from JS Global & became an independent Public Company in 2023. Shark just released Stratos, a new 2-in-1 robotic vacuum & mop. It features over 25 hands-free features, along with NeverTouch self-cleaning base. I own several robotic vacuums; all of them are black. The new Stratos is offered in white & is decked out with silver logos. It has a stunning, very attractive, contemporary appearance. The Stratos is very intuitive & is a breeze to connect to your Wi-Fi. After a few updates over Wi-Fi, load the SharkClean app on your phone. After fully charging Stratos, set it free to map your home. If it runs low on battery power, it returns to the base to recharge, then resumes the mapping process. Next, review the map. If desired, modify or combine rooms, then label each room. There is no need to identify carpet or rugs; Stratos recognizes them & lifts the mop pad high above them to avoid contact automatically! CONCLUSION: Shark Stratos is the ultimate robotic vacuum & mop. Our hardwood floors are shining; our carpet & rugs are pristine. It is quiet, and due to many onboard sensors, it does not run into walls or objects like my other robotic vacuums did. The included Shark Odor Neutralizer Cartridge assures you have a fresh-smelling home. I love the bagless design, just one of many ways this is truly a hands-free appliance. Stratos is my absolute favorite Robotic vacuum / mop & earns my highest recommendation!!

I’ve owned a number of Shark robot floor cleaners over the years, and the Stratos is the most autonomous one that I’ve tried so far. Once set up, it is able to vacuum and mop, as well as self-clean for multiple runs without requiring you to touch the machine. The included docking station is fairly compact and the only assembly needed is to install the ramp and optional odor cartridge. The odor cartridge is essentially an air freshener capsule that smells a bit like Irish Spring soap and fresh laundry. The amount of odor it dispenses is adjustable by rotating the cartridge, and the scent is dispersed each time the robot empties its dust bin. The station also houses washable intake and outtake air filters, two water tanks for clean and dirty water, and a bag-less dust bin that stores up to 60-days’ worth of debris. The robot itself has a slightly oval round shape measuring 14” across at its widest point. Its outer rim is 3.5” in height and low enough to clear the toe kicks of my kitchen cabinetry, however, the LiDAR puck on top increases the total height to about 4.25”, so it may have trouble passing under low-clearance furniture like couches and dressers. While the dust/water bin and a Velcro mop pad are pre-installed, you will need to attach a side brush to the bottom; a spare brush and mop pad are included. There are a myriad of sensors on the unit to allow it to detect and avoid obstacles, walls, drops and falls, and recognize carpeted areas. The drive wheels are also able to lift the machine over obstacles like floor transitions and will raise the mopping pads when going over carpet and rugs. This seems to work well as the robot hasn’t gotten stuck anywhere in my home. In general, I found the avoidance sensors worked pretty well, and it’s able to detect walls and large furnishings and go right up to them without making contact. It had a bit of difficulty, however, with tall skinny objects like chair and table legs and would lightly bump them before changing direction. If the object was light enough, it would end up pushing it around, like our mini artificial Christmas tree. When choosing a location for the base station, you need to ensure that there is at least 2 ft of non-carpeted hard floor in front of the ramp and place it within 4 ft of an outlet. Then push the robot onto the contacts to start charging, which can take up to 4 hours. There are three physical buttons on top of the robot: dry clean, home/dock, and wet clean, but to use more advanced features, you’ll need to download and use the SharkClean mobile app. Holding the Dry Clean and Home buttons down for several seconds puts the unit into pairing mode so it can be added to app and connect to your home’s 2.4 GHz WiFi network. The robot will then explore your home to create a map of all the areas it has access to. This took only a few minutes to cover the 3 rooms on my first floor with an open floor plan, and the robot automatically divided the map into rooms, though not quite accurately. You are able to edit the map and merge or manually divide the rooms by drawing a single straight line through an existing room. You can also add rectangular no-go-zones where the robot will not enter. You don’t need to indicate where carpet or rugs are as it will identify these automatically and lift the mop pad when passing over them. Note that only one map can be stored at a time, and the base station can’t be moved without remapping the space. There are three main programs you can select: vacuum only, mop only, or vacuum and mop. When creating a schedule for regular cleanings, you’ll choose which rooms it should clean and one program per schedule. The robot can clean up to two times per day, though it’s recommended to wait 8 hours in between wet sessions to allow the mop pads to dry completely. The combo vac/mop mode is only available for “whole home” missions where the robot will visit all areas of the map. As for other settings, ‘recharge and resume’ is a useful one that allows the robot to cover larger areas by returning to the dock to charge when it runs low on power and resuming where it left off after charging for several hours. Similarly, ‘evacuate and resume’ lets the robot empty its dust bin at the base station every half hour, if it’s picking up a lot of dust and debris like pet hair. The app tracks and records the robot’s location on the map, so you’ll see exactly where it cleaned after each mission. You can also view where the robot is in real-time during cleaning, or tap ‘Find Robot’ in the app, for example, if using in an unmapped area of the home, and it will play a melody through its speaker to help you locate it. That being said, the robot can clean areas of the home that are not mapped without the base station present, though it will spend a few minutes trying to determine its location first before creating a temporary map to complete its run. This is helpful since I can take the robot up to the second floor of my home to vacuum as it is carpeted. If running a vacuum only mission, the robot prompts you to remove the mopping pad by unclipping it from the bottom of the dust bin. I found that when running over carpet, the side brush does not spin and occasionally the robot bounces while moving against the nap. It doesn’t really dig deep into the pile for removing compacted debris, however, the vacuum still picks up a lot of surface dust. You also can’t customize the suction power as the robot automatically adjusts it based on the detected level of soil. Enabling Eco Flow mode uses less water during mopping for more sensitive flooring and faster drying times. I found that on the normal setting, the robot leaves behind only a light trail of dampness that dries after about 5 minutes. When a mission is completed, the robot returns to the base station and empties its bin and, if applicable, rinses and blow dries the mop pad with cool air for a set amount of time from 2- 8 hours. I found that the base station won’t always completely clear the robot’s dust bin upon self-emptying, but you can manually remove the bin for filter maintenance and deeper cleaning. The Stratos was able to complete a vac and mop of my entire space, about 304 ft², in 40 minutes which consumed 30% battery life and about 1/6th of the clean water tank. The only area it couldn’t clean was under the dining room table because the robot is too wide to fit between the chairs’ legs. I was impressed that it went right up the edges of the room, and the floors were noticeably cleaner afterwards. Each wet run fills the dirty water tank about an inch, so it can be run several times before needing to be emptied. One thing to note is that the robot does make a bit of noise as it drives around, and the station is loud when self-emptying and pumping water for refills and pad rinsing. The dryer fan also emits a constant whirring hum as it runs and isn’t heated, so it takes quite a while to completely dry the mop pad. I try to run the dryer for the maximum duration overnight as well as clean the dirty water tank after each run to avoid any issues with mold or mildew from standing water. If you don’t mop often, I recommend removing the pad to hang dry and emptying both tanks between uses. Overall, the Stratos robot is mostly hands-off except for regular maintenance like emptying the bag-less debris bin every couple of months, cleaning the filters and sensors, and exchanging the water in the mop tanks when needed. It does a great job on hard floorings for both dry and wet cleaning and carpeting would definitely benefit from frequent surface cleaning to prevent dirt and debris from making its way deeper into the nap. Although the mop pads rinse and dry themselves, the water tray in the base station requires periodic cleaning. Scheduled automatic missions maintain my floors with a basic level of cleanliness, and the unit even integrates easily with smart home assistants like Alexa and Google for voice control.
