Has WOW factor but with some drawbacks/compromises

The WOW factor is definitely there but this fridge does have some drawbacks/things to get use to. Replaced 13 YO Samsung FrenchDoor FF that was working fine but drove us nuts with not enough ice production, incandescent lighting, dents and finger prints in SS that required frequent cleaning. Have been using this one just over a week and SS print-shield finish is great, ice production is surprisingly good, love the LED lighting, interior seems bigger than previous same size fridge and the drawers offer great organization options. The cons the ice maker on the left drawer kills all storage on the inside of that door, BUT with no icemaker inside you get more shelf space so that is kind of a wash. We use to put a gallon of milk and a gallon of OJ on the inside right door on one shelf but this fridge can only accommodate one per shelf and the spacing is tight so getting them in/out is a pain. Had to adapt by using the sliding shelf inside to free up space for tall stuff like milk/juice/soda. The lighting in the fridge is awesome but the lighting in the freezer is hidden/too far inside to be useful. I read and contribute to reviews a lot so I was concerned about the negatives on this fridge. Most to me appear to be from 2016 the year I think they started production, the more recent reviews are more positive making me think/hope they solved quality issues. I spent a lot of time aligning the doors/drawer faces to get it looking perfect. I do feel like it runs a lot/all of the time....I believe newer variable speed compressors will do this, so should not be a huge energy hog, but their energy star rating does show it consumes a lot of energy/year. The auto close doors are a nice feature but to get inside to the left side shelves you have to swing the door wide open to get around the ice maker and the auto close feature doesn't work if door is left open beyond 45 degrees. EXPENSIVE was another concern but the wow factor and you only live once thinking made me go for it. IF the reliability is not an issue (Consumer reports says it is) and I get 13+ years out of it like I did the Samsung than I'll forget the price. IF it starts breaking I'll regret the purchase. Too early to tell but for now Wife and I open the door and stare inside and say WOW!

Good Fridge, but Pricey & Low Ice Output

Lots of folks have already provided really nice, thorough reviews of this fridge. It is a good fridge, but I wish we had fewer complaints about it based on the cost. Most are minor, but at this price point, any complaint seems amplified. Number 1 is the very poor ice output. We have to keep it on max ice constantly and my husband is the only person in the house who uses the ice. This is disappointing and frustrates him constantly. He complains he is now on "ice rations". Also, the little tray in the water dispenser area fits very poorly and falls out constantly. There is no actual latch or other mechanism to keep it in place. My husband ended up putting some velcro strips down to hold it in place. The chrome handles are an odd design element for a black stainless fridge. This was a consideration for us in the purchase process and ultimately, we decided to just remedy this ourselves. We took the handles (which are not assembled onto the fridge at delivery) to a local certified cerakote applicator. They now look amazing and are no longer an inconsistent element against the black stainless. It is now sleek and beautiful; how it should have looked to begin with! See attached pics. We went from a side-by-side fridge to this French door design. We really like it overall but were surprised by the persistent challenge of storing taller items, which is not a factor with a side-by-side design. There is such limited space for taller things! We ended up entirely removing one of the shelves, something other reviewers have noted as well. This helped us achieve a more usable layout. The fit and finish of the fridge are excellent. The black stainless is beautiful and the gray interior is quite nice. We really like the soft-close doors and the 3 drawer freezer section is excellent - very easy to keep organized. It is easy to clean. On balance, we like most things about this fridge. The ice maker is the only major drawback.

    Everything that glitters isn’t gold

Beautiful exterior cheaply made interior. If you’re accustomed to quality made long lasting products then skip this and buy a better made brand. Had a Kenmore Elite that was 14 years old. “Upgraded” to Kitchen Aid to match other Kitchen Aid appliances. Love the two extra exterior doors for deli and produce. The refrigerator cubic size is noticeably smaller so I lost a lot of shelf and freezer space. Just means less in groceries lol. Freezer is smaller but like the interior setup. Ice bucket is tiny. Why?! Be careful of inside glass shelves I wound up laying a piece of plastic liner on one shelf for glass jars to avoid scratching. Getting used to refrigerator and the noises it makes. I must say the first 3-4 days I was ready for Best Buy to pick it up! Other reviews indicated the same weird noises I heard. I have several videos of the noises that I can’t upload. Hopefully the kinks are worked out. Finally today I removed the plastic and moved into this refrigerator. The right door needs to be tightened - Yeap you read that correctly door not handle; it was shipped that way. The water dispenser ‘sprays’ water. Overall, I can’t believe the molded cheap plastic parts used for a $4,500 item. Blows my mind. I’m prepared for recalls and Total Tech service calls. Do yourself a favor don’t be fooled by the one extra exterior door compared to other brands. Buy a better quality brand. Next time I’m buying Sub-Zero Wolf. Good luck!
