QuestionI have a APC UPS battery and use it for my computer/internet. I'm thinking of getting another one for my satellite TV, would that work? What about a refrigerator?

If your intention is to protect your non server type computer(not high power consumption) or router/modem for internet against surges and expect battery backup during power outages and the output power capacity of those loads will not exceed the limit of the specific backups unit then you can consider using such back ups model even for television. However, its a NO for refrigerator because our ups units are designed for IT devices only. Thanks and have a great day.

QuestionI purchased this product about 3 or 4 years ago when I was sent to work from home during Covid shut down. Lately I am hearing clicking noses form the device, especially during the night. I know the battery may have a shelf life. Is it time to be replaced?

- Answer Thank you for your inquiry. I am sorry to hear that you are having problems with our unit. it could be the battery but generally when they fail the replace battery light will light on them. The internal batteries last around 3 to 5 years so it may be at it's end of its life. If it isn't the battery it could be there is power issues in the night because the clicking can mean that the UPS is going on and off battery. - Answer Thank you for your interest in our products. Unfortunately we really wouldn't have an UPS that would work with a tankless water heater. There is a chance that the UPS could become overload and you wouldn't want our units to be installed in an area that has moisture. The BVN900M1 would support 480 watts of equipment connected to it so there is a chance that the water heater would overload the UPS as well.

Questioncan i plug my two-pronged computerized sewing machine cord into the BVN900M1? I've looked everywhere for information. It's a very expensive machine and I don't want to jeopardize it.

- Answer I am not an electrician, but would recommend you get professional advise from an electrician. Having said that, I would guess your sewing machine has a polarized (two-prong) plug which means it is designed to protect you sewing machine powered from normal household power. Adding a surge protector helps protect equipment when power flickers.

Question1) Do all APC backup-UPS models operate correctly with ungrounded AC circuits? That is a 2-prong AC outlet found in older homes. 2) Assuming a wiring fault will be triggered when there is no ground, how do I disable the alarm for a ground fault?

- Answer Thank you for your interest in our products. Unfortunately our BackUPS require a ground connection. There wouldn't be a way to turn off the alarm on the unit. The alarm is there because if the UPS can't ground any excessive current can be shunted to ground.

QuestionI want to keep my PS5 in the rest mode and not totally shut it off. PS5 instructions say not to lose power while in rest mode or it could cause damage to the unit. Will this battery backup keep the PS5 in rest mode if there is a power outage?

- Answer Normally should not have to charge battery at all. Plug unit in, turn on, add your devices. All should work and battery will charge if needed.

- Answer Thank you for your interest in our products. The unit offers a quick mute option by shortly pressing the power button for less than 2 seconds during an alarm. There is also the option to turn off the on battery alarm completely. With the UPS turned on, you can configure the on battery indicator modes by holding down the power button and waiting for the third beep. At the third beep, the power button will cycle red/green. Release the power button and its color will indicate the mode it is in. You can mute the on battery alarm permanently by pressing the power button so the mode selector is flashing red. Once the mode as been selected please wait 5 seconds for the settings to be saved to the UPS.
