- Answer I'm not sure what the answer is. And I can't lay my hands on the pamphlet at the moment. I can tell you that I run a DVD player/writer, a digital camera in video mode, a bloggers camera, and sometimes a regular video camera with it, along with two back up hard drives. There has been no lag at all in power output for any of these items. Those that don't charge run at full power. Those that do charge, such as my phone and video cameras, do so while recording and I haven't had one issue with it.

QuestionMy windows 10 pc only had two USB ports. I tried connecting the dongle to my wireless logitech mouse and it did not fit. Do I need a USB 2.0 hub and if so is there a fairly cheap alternative?

- Answer This hub is your answer for your mouse, keyboard, backup hard drives, CD/DVD read/write devices, printers, and other devices even if they also run on wifi. I've tried others, and this is the simplest to use. If it had USB-C and a HDMI, it would be perfect--especially for the price.

QuestionWill this work with Windows 11 Home in S mode? Does it have ports on both sides? (One picture shows cables plugged in on both sides.) Will 3.0 and above thumb drives work with this hub?

- Answer The cable on the back side is for power assist. A multi port like this needs to use additional power to function. But it is easy to use and I go from device to device flawlessly on my computer, which is what I use it for.

- Answer I use it for expansion on my computer, especially for multiple back up hard drives and data cards from camera, including video, which are huge files. I have had no issue with the conversion of power strength, and it works flawlessly. Also, the USB ports seem to be better constructed than the ones on the front of my computer. I plug and unplug all the time and I've never had an issue. I've been using it for some time now. It still works flawlessly.

QuestionI’m not really understanding input vs output. My dvd writer needs 5 volts and this outputs 500 mega something. Each device will be different, but may need to use them simultaneously. Can this device do that and how do I know it won’t overload the system?

- Answer I use it for DVD player/writer, for huge data file transfers from cards, for external backup hard drives, etc. The Mega something you referred to is probably the transfer rate, which could be how man megabytes per second it will let transfer. But the power...that is no issue. I provides the power needed to operate all my externals. I use it on my computer, but also to charge my phone when I'm working. Nothing has gone wrong, not even once. It's a great device.

- Answer I use it with my camera (which has video mode), video camera, and a blogging camera. It has been flawless in it's operation, power, and transfer rate. My problem is it only has 7 ports...and sometimes I'm using all of them at once. But it has performed flawlessly at all times. I've not had one issue and been using it for a long time now.

- Answer I am not sure what you mean by protect, but both my linux and windows based systems recognized all of the drives that I have plugged in so moving data from one drive to the other or even cloning a drive should work fine.
