QuestionCan this power a lift chair

- Answer I tested it on my power recliner and had no issues and was able to open and close on battery power so I just bought one for my Dad's lift chair. He picked his up yesterday and hasn't tested it yet but I think it will work fine. I'll report back once he tests it. I know my recliner did not draw much power and from what I read on other sites it seemed liked it should work.

- Answer I have 3 laptops, a mini Mac, 32inch monitor, a printer, external speakers, WiFi router, wireless charging pad and uv cleaning thing all plugged in and I have no problems with it. Doesn’t feel like it’s overheating or anything and it’s worked well already even through rolling blackouts in my area

- Answer No, this UPS unit only would have sufficient capability for some electronics. The current draw (amount of amperes) of a sump pump is much too great for any unit like this that is made for electronics. The instructions that come with this unit tell the user not to use this unit for even a printer that would be connected to a personal computer at home.

To put that in perspective, it’s similar to the power usage of: A Wi-Fi router A digital alarm clock Or a small LED desk lamp So no, it won’t significantly increase your electricity bill. Even if left running 24/7, the cost would be just a few dollars per month depending on your local electricity rates. If you connect devices to it, the total power draw will depend on what those devices consume — but the UPS itself is designed to be energy-efficient.

- Answer Hello and thank you asking this question as it appears to be missing from the specs on the Best Buy listing. The SX950U is a battery backup unit and will output a simulated or stepped sinewave output while it is operating in battery mode.

QuestionThe 950va surge protector outlets does not work in a power failure. The battery is fully charge. Only the USB works.

- Answer Only the battery side work, which is the way it is designed. The battery side guards against surges, AND will bridge the power outage, if short, or give you time to shut down if it is one of a longer duration. You can also use software with a computer to get it to automatically shut down your computer if it is on and unattended. The battery side will also kick in to correct Voltages below about 96V and above 140V, keeping it more steady. The surge protection side only guards against surges and sags, I'm guessing either cutting off the power to keep your equipment from being damaged, OR leveling out the power.

QuestionI know how to reset the battery beep alarm when there is a power outage and it comes on.. But I would rather not have to stumble around in the dark to reset it at 3 am. Is there any way to fix it so that it just takes over without the alarm?

Here’s how you can do it: To Turn Off the Alarm: Quickly press the POWER button twice. You’ll hear two short beeps, which indicates that the alarm has been turned off. With the alarm off, you won’t hear any audible notification when the UPS reaches a low battery state. To Turn the Alarm Back On: Quickly press the POWER button twice again. You’ll hear a single short beep, which indicates that the alarm has been turned back on. This setting is useful if you don’t want to be disturbed by the alarm during a power outage, especially in the middle of the night. However, just keep in mind that with the alarm off, you won’t get an audible notification when the battery is low.
