- Answer Hi Sublimation. The Epson WF-7840 was not designed for dye-sublimation printing nor the use of non-genuine Epson ink cartridges. Using sublimation ink in this printer could damage the print head and impact warranty coverage. Regards, Kevin - The Epson Team.

QuestionI am confused on the fax function, I am used to faxing from my printer, fax, copier to another fax via home phone lines, does this not fax via landline phone lines? how do I fax from a computer?

- Answer Hello Confused59. Yes, the WF-7840 fax feature can only be used with a telephone landline. You can fax from the printer's control panel or via the Fax Utility software from a computer. QuestionWhen I scan a 2-sided document, it still scans the first side, then pulls the paper back through the ADF to flip it and scan the 2nd side. How do I enable single pass scanning.

- Answer I have the same experience. I do not believe the WF-7840 has true single-pass scanning capability. I do not see a second scan head anywhere on the device. My previous Brother MFC had two scan heads and did single pass scanning. I cannot find any setting on the Epson that would indicate otherwise, and the User Guide doesn't mention single pass under Scan Settings.

- Answer On the unit's display, go to Settings\Maintenance\Ink Cartridge(s) Replacement and follow the on screen directions. You cannot open the ink cartridge cover until it is in this mode.

- Answer Hi, Load your 13" x 19" sheets in the rear feed tray, select the Paper Tray as the Paper Source, and 13" x 19 as the Document Size. You can load 50 sheets of plain paper in the rear feed tray. Regards, Mark - The Epson Team.

- Answer Hello Dale340. Yes, the WF-7840 can temporarily print in "black only" mode when other color cartridges are expended. If printing stops, you can cancel your print job and select settings to temporarily print with only black ink on plain paper or an envelope.
