A:AnswerNo it won't, it's just a way for you to have your thermostat sense the temp in another room and trigger it based on that rooms temp only, but it won't alert you.. Its not smart at all. I got these sensors thinking I can program it to turn on the heat when my garage gets close to freezing but that would mean that the entire system would be based on the garage temp only. Pointless
A:AnswerI have a Gen 3 Learning Thermostat and 2 sensors in a 3-story home. The thermostat is on my main floor, one sensor is in my basement, and one sensor is on the 2nd floor. The signal goes through multiple walls, and even the wooden/carpet floors of my home without any signal degradation.
A:AnswerThis will only work if you have a nest thermostat. I don't see why you couldn't put it in the freezer to monitor that temperature, but you'll certainly want to make sure that you don't mistakenly tell your thermostat to use this sensor as the temperature of the house. You'll also have to be careful to not get it wet, but if you put it in a plastic bag or something, I doubt that would be a problem. Also, you'll need to make sure that your wifi will work inside the freezer
A:AnswerThe rebate would be through your utility company. I would recommend calling your local utility company in Cape Cod & ask them to send you the rebate form.
A:AnswerThe Nest Temperature Sensor is designed to connect with the Nest Learning Thermostat or the Nest Thermostat E so a Nest Thermostat would be needed in order to have this paired to a Nest account.
