A:AnswerThis is the predecessor to the home, but the software can be upgraded to allow it to do everything the home can. The remote just doesn't have the buttons for lights and switches.
A:AnswerI just purchased this yesterday to replace my Harmony 900 (I want to use Alexa/Echo voice control). During setup i was able to bypass the 8 device limit, when i got everything setup and started to configure the HUB using the Desktop Software, not the APP (I am using the APP on an older Ipad 2, so i had to use the Desktop to setup the HUB). I am not sure if it will work if you setup using the app but with the Desktop version of MyHarmony software it worked. My harmony 900 allows 15 devices to be controlled, when i was asked if i wanted to copy the settings of my 900 to the Hub i said yes and it copied all 15 devices and all the Activities i setup. It works great, just don't remove any of the devices because you wont be able to add them back individually, it will tell you you have reached the max devices. So if you accidentally remove an item, you can just run the Setup process over again. Hope this helps anyone who needs a couple more Devices added without having to spend the extra money on the more Costly HUB Combo.
A:AnswerThe remote comes with a hub and 2 mini IR blasters. One purpose for the mini blasters is to receive RF signals and transmit that signal to equipment that may be tucked away in a cabinet.
A:AnswerYes, it does. That's exactly how I use it. With the MyHarmony application, I add devices and activities, connect MyHarmony as an IFTTT channel, then add a recipe with Alexa to turn on or off the different activities.
A:AnswerYes. This one comes with the hub which is where the actual control takes place. The hub this comes with also can control the Roku devices that support IP control. Once added, the hub can control any Roku model (IR or IP) with the included remote or by the free app on your mobile device.
A:AnswerI use this with my 4th gen Apple TV. It works fine with it but there are some caveats. You cannot hold down the home button to put your Apple TV to sleep. I get around this problem by just setting the Apple TV to sleep after 15 minutes of activity, so I just turn off the TV and sound bar and the Apple TV will turn itself off a little later. Forwarding on shows is slow with this remote. With the Apple TV remote, you can just slide from left to right, but that function is not available, you can only fast forward, which is slower. When you enter search boxes, the input screen is a little different, but I don't have any issues. And last, you can't use voice search since this remote does not have a mic.
A:AnswerYes, it does work with Echo using IFTTT. I use it to turn on and off my DirecTV setup. You do have to say "Alexa trigger Directv on" and it works.
A:AnswerYes, it works with the playstation, but you'll have to turn it on manually, the Logitech control remote can't do that, it's a Sony Mandatory process you'll have to turn it on with the controller. Then after it is turned on, the controller connects to the PS4.
A:AnswerYes this device will control both bluetooth and IR devices. The product comes with one IR blaster that you can put anywhere so that you have the ability to conceal your devices. I personally found that I didn't need the IR blaster since everything is in an open cabinet, but my son purchased one also and he uses two IR blasters. I believe you can purchase extra blasters right here at Best Buy. The IR blasters connect directly to the back of the hub and the hub accommodates 2 blasters.
A:AnswerAbsolutely. In fact, downloading, installing and using the Logitech app on your phone or tablet gives you more user options that the included remote control.
A:AnswerYes -- you can have several of these kits (remotes with hubs) -- I have three of these systems -- and they will not interfere with each other. Each remote is paired with its own hub via RF (radio frequencies).
A:AnswerI am not sure about your Apple TV but, it powers on all my devices and switches the input. You can also set it to turn on your preferred source of audio (e.g. your stereo receiver).
A:AnswerIf your lighting and door opener currently have an IR (infrared) remote, then yes. In fact, I have my remote controlling my Lutron light switch. The Harmony series remotes can learn any command that another remote sends out. However, it does not work with RF (radio frequency) remotes. The software walks you through the process, but basically, you point the other remote at the back of the Harmony remote, press the desired button when the software tells you to and the remote learns the signal. The software lets you program just about any button to do whatever function you want.
