  • QuestionCan this be used with a DJI RONIN 4d?

    Asked by TZ.

    • Answer The Ronin 4D from DJI is "an innovative all-in-one camera/gimbal solution." The weight of the kit exceeds the specified weight limit of the 290 tripod: 10.3 lb / 4.67 kg (With Battery, Grip, Handle, Monitor, Recording Media, Viewfinder) 3.2 lb / 1.45 kg (Body Only) 2.29 lb / 1.04 kg (Gimbal) That's about 1.8 times the given limit of the 290 tripod.

  • QuestionDoes this tripod work with a Fomako ptz camera?

    Asked by salter.

    • Answer The manfrotto tripod comes with two sizes of screws so depending on the size of the thread on the bottom of your camera you attached whichever screw is needed on to a quick release plate and then you mount the quick release plate to the bottom of your camera and then it's a quick and easy on-and-off the tripod. But you use whatever size screw that fits the mounting hole on the bottom of your camera.

  • QuestionWould this work well with a 4 lb. spotting scope?

    Asked by MTmama.

    • Answer It should work fine, I mount my Nikon d500 which is about 2 lb and I have several different lenses and some of them range and weight from 3 to 5 lb. I think you'll be fine keeping the weight to a max of 8 to 10 pounds. Manfrotto manufacturers tripods that can handle up to 22 lb and higher. I like the manfrotto 290 tripod because because I travel a lot and it's lightweight and very sturdy.

  • Questioncan i use this tripod on a nikon p900 camera

    Asked by ben.

    • Answer Yes absolutely, I have a Nikon d500 which way is just over two and a half pounds and I have several telephoto and zoom lenses lenses that way between 3 and 5 lb. And I find the manfroto 290 to be very stable with my equipment. The reason why I bought the Manfroto 290 is I travel a lot. It comes with a fluid head that allows you to pan left and right and up and down, but I also bought the manfroto xpro pan and tilt head. It's very easy to switch between the two heads and both heads work fantastic with the 290. Plus the 290 like all manfroto products are manufactured in Italy, so it's nice to be able to buy something that is not made in China.

  • QuestionCan it be used safely and effectively with a Celestron 70mm travel telescope?

    Asked by AFPD.

    • Answer Manfrotto products have a full line of tripods, and I'm sure they have one that would be able to handle the weight of a telescope and give you the stability that you need. But where you may run into a problem is that Celestron and Meade Telescopes have a specifically made mounting system to mount their telescopes on to their tripods. Most camera tripods are designed to where if you look at the bottom of most cameras they have a quarter inch thread that the mating part on the top of a camera tripod screws into the bottom of that camera. So I would recommend if you buy a Celestron telescope most come with a tripod if not check with the Best Buy sales person and also look on to their website. I have a need to telescope that's rather large they came with the me tripod so for a Celestron I would check Celestron website. And some camera stores out of New York sell telescopes and they sell aftermarket tripods designed for telescopes that would be your best bet. But I would definitely start with the Best Buy website and talk to a sales person in the store.

  • QuestionIs the plate compatible with the plate that is used on the Zhiyun Weebill S Gimbal? So that it's easier to switch the camera from the gimbal to the tripod and vice versa?

    Asked by Rassul.

    • Answer I just recently bought a gimbal to use with my d500 with my 200 to 400 zoom lens, and my gimbal has a quarter inch mounting thread on the bottom that attach to easily to the tripod. But you have to check because not all the quick release plates are interchangeable with most products, most all quick-release plates have the quarter inch Threaded Screw that attaches to most any camera on the market, but some of those plates will not Mount to other products. My gimbal came with 1 quick release plate so I bought a couple more quick-release plates and I can mount on other cameras too easily switch from one camera to the other on the gimbal. Most all mounting plates I have a quarter inch thread that screws into the bottom of almost every single brand of camera. So you may need to buy a few mounting plates that are dedicated to your gimbal like I did.

  • QuestionWill this work with a Canon M50 camera?

    Asked by carolinejordanfitness.

    • Answer All tripods made in the last 70 years I have a quarter inch screw on the top and every camera made in the last hundred years has a quarter inch whole that mates to the top of the tripod. So yes you can mount that camera on the top of that manfroto 290. Remember you're mounting the quick release plate to the bottom of your camera and then that mounts to the top of the tripod .

  • QuestionWhat does the minimum extended height mean? When stood up it does not go shorter than that height mentioned?

    Asked by Baa27.

    • Answer If you have the legs collapsed to the shortest length, and angled all the way out (the grey lever at top of each leg has two positions for setting how far the leg can be angled out -- the further out, of course the lower the tripod sits), and with the center post all the way down, then you have it set up for minimum extended height. Check the specification, but I'm fairly certain (from work I've done) that it's less than 17 inches. You can also remove the center post and insert it from the bottom. This means your camera would be mounted upside down, so it's possible to have it set with the top of your camera against the ground (depending on the size of the lens used).
