This is because Totaltech includes up to two years of product protection on most new Best Buy purchases. If your television breaks within two years of purchase, you can take it to any Best Buy store or call Geek Squad to schedule an in-home repair. If the television can't be repaired, Geek Squad will replace it with a new one of the same or equal value. Here are some THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND about Totaltech product protection: It covers most new Best Buy purchases, including televisions. It lasts for up to two years from the date of purchase. It covers accidental and non-accidental damage. There is no deductible. If you have any questions about Totaltech product protection, please contact Best Buy customer service.     • Answer their new plan is no free installs and 20% off in home service of any kind. Was all free with $200 total tech plan. Now for $179 you get a 20% discount only. We re done with them. They had the best thing going and were bringing folks back and now stores are empty again and folks turning back to Costco and amazon. Biggest mistake since they tried to force people to get the credit card to earn pints on Apple. Stopped buying apple there that day. They’ll be an online store only at best within 5 years. You also can no longer call the store and talk to them. They have like 40 people working and 4 customers but can’t answer the phones anymore. Lol. Circus now imo. Run.

    • Answer I also did not know until I started getting emails to update my card that my yearly subscription was up that I never signed up for! I have sent multiple replies to get them to stop trying to take it out as it will mean i can not pay other bills. I will be checking to see if they took it out last year without my permission and checking into seeing if it is actionable. This is a huge stress I did not need with health problems will never set foot in a best buy again. Zero trust and will let others know

    • Answer Hey there! Unfortunately, Totaltech doesn't cover purchases retroactively. So, if you bought your iPhone 15 Pro last weekend, you won't be able to add Totaltech to your purchase and have it cover your phone. However, you can still purchase Totaltech and have it cover all of your other tech, even if you didn't buy it at Best Buy, but that you bought while you had an active membership. I would go to the store, speak with an associate to see if could return the phone, buy the Total Tech Membership, and then buy the same phone with the membership already activated so it gets AppleCare+ automatically.     • Answer Omg. Please read this. It will not. That’s NOT cover you. I spent hours on with them today to get nowhere and ultimately they will charge you to come and diagnose your washer and dryer. Claiming that the repair will be cover once they do. Which is also untrue. Then. If you give up like I did and pay for the call. You will realize that you aren’t even on with someone who can really schedule you. They will tell you someone “should call you within 48 hrs” to see if they can get you onto a schedule with a third party. If you’ve ever been down this road before you know where it’s headed. Save your money and use it when the machine breaks to pay a repair man. Stop giving it to these companies.
