A:AnswerI'd say probably not... if you don't have to run it under concrete, buy an ethernet cable and run it underground and connect the devices that way. they require an RJ45 jack, like a phonejack but with more plugin contacts. Bestbuy gives you 15 days to return the extender if it doesnt work for you.
A:AnswerI paired this extender with Netgear Nighthawk combination modem/router. This solved problem very nicely. I would recommend paring with same brand extender, but the Netgear extender may work. I would call Netgear to get straight answer.
A:AnswerTry it both ways. I found the Netgear online documentation incorrect but I had a Spectrum tech out and he switched it like you said and got it running quickly. But when he moved it to the other end of the house, he switched it to 'extender'. Go figure!!
A:AnswerThere are 2 ways to connect the Extender, there is a button called WPS, you press that button in your router and then in the extender, it will take 2 minutes to connect. Or you can connect via WIFI to the extender, it will say something like Netgear EXT, after you connect then open the browser wait about 2 minutes and follow the instructions in the website. Good Luck
A:AnswerIf you can get reasonable signal at the location that the extender would be plugged in, it will help. I bought two of these for the same reason, and they solved my wifi coverage problems.
A:AnswerNot sure if it would, but since they are both Netgear products, it is more than likely a match made in heaven.
We paired the Netgear AC1900 Dual Band WiFi Range Extender (Model EX6400) with a Netgear Nighthawk R6700 router, and it works BEAUTIFULLY!
A:AnswerYes - all WiFi range extenders that are not "Mesh" range extenders will require that you create at least one new SSID. But, it can be very close to your current (primary) WiFi SSID. For example, if your WiFi SSID is "ALPHA", this range extender SSID could be something like "ALPHA_EXT" and the password can be the exact same password as your primary SSID. So, when you go back and forth with your phone in the house, you may switch seamlessly back and forth between "ALPHA" and "ALPHA_EXT".
There should be no issues with interference between the two.
