QuestionCan I hook up a BT DVD player, a CD player, and a turntable to this receiver? All 8 (6+2) of the wired speakers can be on a single zone as the 2 outdoor speakers have their own volume control and could be wired with the front LR speakers.

- Answer Hi JimD2, Thank you for your interest in the STRDH590. Yes, you can hook up your turntable, CD player, and BD/DVD player to this receiver. This unit is equipped with 4 HDMI inputs and 4 RCA audio inputs so you can connect multiple devices. However, there is no option for additional 2 outdoor speakers since this is a 5.2 channel AV receiver only. QuestionMy chrysalis active subwoofer works fine with my old receiver but not at all with this new one. It is set to 5.1 and powered up with volume up... Speakers set to small. Don't want to return this after waiting for it to be back in stock.

- Answer Hi Jimbo, Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately, this unit doesn't have a phono input. However, you can connect your turntable to one of the Audio IN ports of the receiver. To connect a turntable that only has a PHONO output jack, you need to connect a phono equalizer (not supplied) between the turntable and this receiver. Hope this helps! -Sam

QuestionI usually have receivers that are 5.1. I only have and want one subwoofer. This is a 5.2. Will this Sony receiver work just fine if I only want to connect one subwoofer to it? Or, is getting a 5.1 receiver better if I only want one subwoofer? Thanks!

- Answer This receiver drives a pair of main speakers, pair of rears, center and sub-woofer. I don’t use the sub-woofer out because my mains each have a 15 inch woofer.

If you just want to use the AV receiver as a hub for your audio/video devices and listen through your TV speakers, I would recommend connecting the AV receiver to your TV via HDMI ARC connection and set the audio output settings of your TV to TV speakers. QuestionCan I individually adjust the sound of the center channel speaker? I know there is an auto adjust feature, but too often the dialog on movies or streaming British (accent issues) gets drowned out by the background music. Need to crank up the C channel.
