We need a 0 star option. Do not not buy this. Purchased one. Adobe website states code is not active and to contact retailer. Aka BB. Managed to get an exchange. And second code had the same issue. Don’t waste your time. Next is a dispute with my CC.

With my new iMac 24" All-in-One, I needed to update my photography software but didn't want to go with a subscription program. Adobe Photoshop Elements 2024 is doing a fine job!

DO NOT BUY!!! It doesn't work. The redemption code doesn't work on adobe.com and it says the product is not activated yet from retailer side. Spent on telephone for hours with BestBuy software support and GeekSquad. From their side, the product is activated and they don't know what went wrong. They told me to return the product but the store refused to accept the return because it was opened already. It would be just waste of money down the drain and you cannot get it back.

    Not A Huge Fan

Not a fan. First off, installation was a 2 hour time-drain. Tried installing several times and got the same error of "Error code 50: Installation failed" after only loadin 9%. I went to the Adobe and entered the "Code 50". The first suggested correction was to close browser and try to install again. OK, did that and same error. Next suggestion was to re-start my PC and try again. Fair enough and easy money. Did that and same problem. Next step was to uninstall Creative Cloud app using their uninstaller... OK, I downloaded the uninstaller and went through the process of uninstalling. I tried to re-install and exact same error. The next and final step was to navigate to: *C:\Users\[User Name]\AppData\Local\Temp\CreativeCloud\ *Navigate to ACC.log *Look for "LockedFilesWithProcesses" *Then look for something that looks like "LockedFilesWithProcesses: ADC : C:\Program Files (x86)\Common" *Go to the file using the given path, and close it in Task Manager OK, I did that, and then yet again, went to download the app and FINALLY it installed. Great, right? No, not really. I went to activate it with the code I was given. I started to enter it and it errored saying that I needed to enter the serial number and NOT the activation code. Frustrating! I had to click another link to convert the "Activation Code" into serial number. Why not just provide the serial number? Again, frustrating! OK, at this point I had it installed and up and running. I decided to fiddle around with it and I found it to be not very user-friendly, but I was willing to walk away, sleep on it and try again tomorrow. Day 2, it was similar to versions I had used in the past. It's basically a feature rich [perhaps too feature rich] program that does a whole bunch, does it pretty well but is not particularly intuitive. That said, some of the new features [photo fix, AI, color match, background selection, text etc] are nice additions but again, there is a somewhat steep learning curve End of the day, probably a very good program, but the frustration certainly tainted my initial experience.

Depending on the user, previous versions will work just fine, but for me the new features really added some really cool options to my toolbox. Of course you get all the features of the previous versions with the 2024 version of Adobe Photoshop Elements, but the new features in it really punch things up quite a bit. Like its has been there are guided and non guided options for most things so things can be as automated or hands on as you want things to be. It is really only limited to your experience and creativity. New features like matching color and tone can give a project a complete new look. * Stylized text can be created and placed horizontally or vertically. This is especially nice on cards, flyers, calendars etc.giving a very personal look to your creations. * With automatic selection feature you can replace one little thing in a photo or the entire background with one click. * Creating photo reels to share or just to have is now very easy. * Adobe is giving users access to tons of stock photos for you own use. Several other new features to check out and find the ones you like are just waiting for you to discover them. And there is even a mobile companion App to keep your project flowing while you are out and about on the go!!!

Adobe PhotoShop Elements 2024 challenges a casual user such as me to try to accomplish some photo editing with minimal guidance. I believe I’m like many potential users of PSE who want to do some intense photo manipulation, but maybe only every few months. That puts us in the frustrating situation of learning, mostly forgetting, and having to relearn a very useful program. Not so with PSE. I’m going to spoil the drama and point to my 50 year old photographs of our grown children, a subset of a dozen pictures I played with, modified, and turned into artwork over the past 24 hours. PSE is really that easy to use. It’s fun. SETUP: Adobe is serious about copy protection. I needed to download, install, and activate the software with either/both? a 24 character REDEMPTION CODE and/or the 24 character SERIAL NUMBER. It’s clear sailing after that. Adobe includes in the package a very comprehensive ELEMENTS ORGANIZER that I found much easier to use than previous iterations. I have 60,000 photos so it took awhile for ORGANIZER to catalog and display them. I had about 10 ORGANIZER crashes, and sent out the optional reports to ADOBE. The computer never crashed. No matter, the importing process was simply restarted and eventually finished hours later with no losses. Not sure where the problem originated, but I’m more likely to use Mac’s PHOTOS (or my ugly, no structure no organization, anyway). MODIFYING PHOTOS: (I think Photoshopping is now the adjective to describe this.) ORGANIZER working in the background did not prevent me from diving into PSE and start editing a photo. I do wish PSE made it more intuitive to pull in image files from Apple’s photos. Why can’t that be a choice in the NEW or IMPORT menu? IF YOU START from within Apple’s PHOTOS, in the IMAGE MENU, down next to EDIT WITH …. you can select Adobe Photoshop Elements. Complaint over. Instead, to the clipboard I went. I searched for an old faded family photo from the 1970s. First I needed to correct the faded, distorted colors. Adding a selected photo in PSE drops it into the work window and the PHOTO BIN where I can return again and again for more edits. Just remember to SAVE with a new name. PSE includes a Search feature, so I tried “faded” with no effect. I tried “color” and sure enough, I got 5 different photo processing features I might find useful. I could also have clicked on the top menu tabs. The top level menu has 3 broad categories, QUICK, GUIDED, and ADVANCED. I saw that features that would be GUIDED were further sorted into tabs as follows: BASICS (12 features), COLOR (2 features), Black & White (6 features), FUN EDITS (18 features), SPECIAL EDITS (14 features), or PHOTOMERGE (6 features). Adobe says there are 62 step-by-step guided edits in all. Now it’s time to play. My most recent PSE dates back to 2019, so I found many new features, some improved menus, and the Intro page offers a steady supply of potential projects and an easy way to access them. There is color matching, to colors you might have in a photo you have. PSE2024 continues adding to tools that facilitate social networking interactions. Photo Reels are new and easy to accomplish. I no longer have to learn about or even search for alternate backgrounds. Various skies are already in submenus, ready to replace that dreary, flat sky in every outdoor photo. Smart lassos are smarter. They more effectively snap to my intended subjects. In some features an entire process is merely a single selection away. I can eliminate JPEG artifacts in photos that were saved with too little resolution or too much compression. I can smooth skin, eliminate haze or colorize a photo with a click. Adobe offers free access to thousands of stock photos from within the App. Photos can be instantly converted into art simulating a range of artistic styles. CONCLUSION: It’s all in a sample of photos. Like noted earlier, I searched for an old faded photo from the 1970s and made corrections in the basic feature collection, as well as tools in the PERFECT PORTRAIT submenu so it looks like it was captured last month and not scanned from an old scrapbook. Eliminating JPEG artifacts helped, too. I turned that single corrected photo into a B&W version, and used the B&W COLOR POP to bring out (and then change) a focus color. I added text to the picture using MEME MAKER. With only a few clicks I swapped out the background of my photo and substituted a pattern from PSE’s collection. I returned to the corrected original photo and tried a WATER COLOR effect followed by a different artistic style, all with a single click. POP ART was another click away. I’ve run out of space to share but the PUZZLE EFFECT was easy and fun but the OUT of BOUNDS effect was the most dramatic. They both create 3D illusions, with the latter simulating one of your photo subjects stepping out of the photo. I have infrequent use of Adobe’s Photoshop Elements. But that’s the reason I get a new version of PSE every few years. I don’t have to be an expert. I don’t have to immerse myself in this program to get signifiant functionality out of it. It’s very intuitive. It has tremendous depth for the serious user, and in my estimation, it lets a broad range of end users find a way to access the thrill of creating art and turning basic images into dramatic presentations. I recommend this newest version of Adobe’s PSE.

    Adobe Photoshop Elements is PRO!

I have been using Adobe photoshop products since the 2000’s and more recently the Adobe Photoshop Elements for the past few years. I have noticed over the past 3 years Adobe has been improving their Elements brand. I also noticed that it typically has everything that I would require in a photoshop software. Yes, you can get the professional version of PhotoShop or Lightroom which I have used and loved. However, over the years Adobe has perfected Elements for family to pro users and I think its just great. Read on to find out more! I have a MacBook Pro and use all of Apples products for streamline process. I easily took a photo earlier in the day (while typing this review) using my iPhone and was able to open elements, grab the picture from iCloud and start editing. You can open multiple pictures at once which will be displayed on a bottom panel for easy access and moving between photos. Three different edit categories are provided, including Quick, Guided and Advanced. Quick is great for when you need to get things done. Advanced has everything a typical photoshop user would need to make that one shot perfect. Most of the details below you will find in Quick or in the Advanced categories. I have not used the Guided category; however, it will give you step by step directions on how to adjust an images lighting, remove an object, add text, correct skin tone, or a variety of others. What’s great is the guide will help you with any image you upload. So you don’t have to worry about going through the guide on an example image and then work on your own. Your image(s) will be the example image which then you can save after going through the guide. Pretty COOL! Once I have my picture, I start at work and to be honest and majority of the time I use the Smart Fix adjustments. I hit auto and it looks great. Done. Save photo. I usually do this for one simple photo or for when I have ton of photos and just want them to generally look better. Even from my iPhone 14 Pro, a little edit never hurts for the photos that count. You can fine tune your adjustments if you prefer. Adjustments include, Smart Fix, Exposure, Lighting, Color, Balance, and Sharpen. My favorite part of the program is Quick Action. Its a must click once you download the program. You can also auto color correct, dehaze, and red eye fix. What’s new this year and what makes elements worth it are the AI edits. You heard me! AI is now in photoshop elements. Including JPEG Artifacts removal, add a blue sky, smooth skin or Color B&W photo (make something look old!). I noticed some of these AI and new tools require additional small (MB) uploads which take seconds. You can select and remove backgrounds and do a variety of background changes. You can also get creative and do different effects and add different subjects. Adobe really has perfected elements. I know back in the day elements was not very much a favorite and gave me paint program vibes. However, now I would say its the new p

Adobe heading AI in photo editing

The latest update to Adobe Photoshop Elements includes various AI-powered features and an updated user interface. The changes to the user interface light/dark mode options as well as improvements to icons, fonts, and other graphical user interfaces looks for a smoother more rounded feel when working. Editing with AI includes colour and tone matching, select a preset or create your own to better fine-tune the avail presets to your liking. The “one-click” options have gotten better at automated selection for editing and replacing background areas of your photos. As a part of this, there is now guided edits for photo text and background changes and replace. Adobe has started to compartmentalize more of the application to ease making changes and edits to photos, when not using a guided change. One can easily click though the various options to find their artistic style and colour for use. Removing object from photos using this same manor. With AI being the latest trend, Adobe appears to be encouraging use of their AI as much as possible to allow users to become more aware and ease their editing times tables, and skillset easing; making it easier for any enthusiast to get started in editing of their own photos to a more professional look.

It's Photoshop So It's Great, But AI Still 'Meh'

I've been using Photoshop since before is became a verb and I was actually on the Lightroom photo professionals Beta before it launched. Adobe has put out, once again, the premier photo manipulation program for the masses. This year's iteration consolidates a lot of the tools in one place so that it is a bit easier to find what you are looking for, and they finally gave Elements a bit of a face lift. While it's just a bit of a nip and tuck, or given that it's Photoshop, it's been 'Photoshopped' but it is still a welcome change. My favorite part of the visual overhaul is that it has finally been given a dark-mode! Yay! I don't know if Adobe was reluctant to do so because then the masses might think they are pros using Lightroom, *gasp* or if they genuinely felt that a white background was better for consumers, but Elements needed the dark mode. There is a reason why Lightroom utilizes a dark background. I gave up the game years ago with photos and photo-editing (I'm old and got tired of schlepping tons of camera gear around), and just decided to stick with the camera I have, which nowadays is better than many of my first cameras! For me, the tools on the phone are perfect for sharing those photos with friends and family. What I wanted Photoshop Elements for was to digitize and clean up the boxes upon boxes of photos my mom has saved up. Not to get too Debbie-Downer but my mom is getting up there in her years and nothing has ever been done with all the photos she has. Having already buried my wife's parents and seen the tragedy of family photos scattered to the wind (or dumpster), I vowed that I would not let that happen with our old photos. The problem with a lot of these photos is that there is degradation, color shifts, fading, and even with the best scanners, an inability to get a sharp enlargement without artifacts. Adobe has started leaning into the AI tools with Elements 2024 and while a lot of them are really good, others have been a bit underwhelming. Now this really isn't a knock on Adobe, because we are still in the early years of AI and this is still a consumer-friendly product and not professional grade, you can (and should) only expect so much. I'm still trying to 'dial in' the workflow to get the initial run of photo scans done well, but it has been slow going. A lot of the tools can be pretty heavy handed with their effects and can vary a lot from photo to photo (unlike with photos direct from a camera into something like Lightroom, where I had a profile for my camera and lens that corrected a lot of things in one big batch for all the photos in that days shoot). Again, I don't necessarily blame Adobe for this because they want you to be as happy with your photos as you can be. But you will need to temper your expectations. One thing I did notice with Photoshop Elements 2024 is that scrapbookers have a lot of options for cutting, composing, and editing and the tools for background removal and replacement have gotten fantastic over the last several years! That's obviously not what I'm looking for, though it would be funny to replace the background of my dad leaning against our old Camaro with a Mars landscape! Adobe continues to make the best photo-editing software out there and Elements makes it easy for people of all skill levels to make their photos the best they can be. Just be prepared for what miracles Elements can and can not do.

    Photo editing made easy

It’s been a little while since I’ve used Adobe Photoshop and Elements truly makes editing easy. I can’t remember that last time I used photoshop, but I do remember it being much more complicated than photoshop elements. Maybe I just have more experience with editing in general now so maybe it comes to me a little easier now, but elements truly makes it easy if you’re a novice. The UI is simple and straightforward which definitely lends to the ease of finding what you’re looking for. When editing a photo, adobe makes it easy with three quick tabs to choose from, quick, guided and advanced. The first two is definitely what makes this software so easy, especially for someone that is new to photo editing. You have so many options to quickly and easily edit your photos and can add so many different effects. One of the features I was surprised about the most was the AI feature, it just makes it fun and interesting to let the AI do the work. If you’re just getting into photography, Adobe Photoshop Elements takes the complexity out of photo editing and truly makes it easy.

I'm about as amateur of a photographer as you can get. I love taking photos of images that strike me as unique, but I have never sold or solicited any photos I've taken. I generally take landscape photos or nature photos, but I also take family photos when we are out and about on adventures. My brother is the professional photographer of the family, and I've seen him edit his photos manually. And let me tell you, it looks incredibly complicated. Therefore, I've always needed to be bolder to learn myself. Adobe Photoshop Elements 2024 changes that for me. If you need it, this program will hold your hand throughout the editing process. It makes sharpening up your photos super easy. When you first open up a photo to edit, the program gets you to the photo first, along with giving you a set of options to choose from. "Quick," "Guided," or "Advanced" are the three options. If you want to do a speedy photo edit, the Quick option is the way to go. And Guided gives you a step-by-step, change-by-change explanation or allows you to let A.I. do a lot of the heavy lifting. The results with the Guided feature are fantastic! It's way better than I'd be able to do alone with my current editing skills. And, of course, the Advanced is more than likely what my brother would use when editing his photos when he's hired to capture a wedding or family portrait. I'm sure professional or experienced editors will laugh at the hand-holding, but let me tell you, there are a lot of people out there who only have "filter" experience with their photos, so when there are a ton of scales, options, and degrees to dial in, it's intimidating. There are things in life that I'm super experienced with and may huff at programs hand-holding beginners, but as long as there are options to do it manually, why scoff at more options to help people? That's where this program gets it right. It caters to professionals as well as beginners and everyone in between. I'm super happy with this product and am excited about what will come with my photos - old and new! Adobe can be trusted to give you what you need when it comes to photo editing, and this new program is no different when it comes to quality and efficiency.

The product itself is great -- once you contact enough support people to get it to work. I purchased a hard copy of this at my local Best Buy for a hundred dollars, excited to have it because I can't afford a yearly subscription for basic features. Inside there was a registration code. The code did not work, so I returned to Best Buy. The first associate told me I needed to get onto Adobe's chat feature for help. I couldn't get anything but an AI, who linked me to a page saying that they had nullified the code, assumedly to force people into buying their upgraded subscription plans. So I took a second trip to Best Buy, attempting to return it since I could not use it. The second associate rather snottily informed me that because it had been opened they would not accept it back nor refund my money. I was definitely upset at this point, as I blew 100 bucks for the purchase not to work. The associate gave me the Best Buy HQ hotline number, so I went and called it from my car. He was very surprised to hear that they would not refund my money when I explained the situation, and documented everything. He told me to reach out to Adobe's tech support people on the phone. So I went home and did this, but their lines were "busier than usual." I did finally manage to get a person on chat....who transferred me to ANOTHER person, who managed to make the code work...which yay, if I hadn't wanted the program I wouldn't have spent the. money. However, with the amount of time and energy I had to spend to make something that should have been super simple work, I would not repeat the process and will likely never buy another software item from Best Buy again since they don't refund your money for a faulty program and next time it probably wouldn't work out.

    Some Things Need This Photoshop!

I grew up in the age of film photography (my first camera was the original Canon AE-1). And that experience continues to inform my approach to imaging today. I always focus on subject, placement, lighting, and color. In the old days it was important to get things right in a few takes. With the amazing quality of the camera on my phone, and with digital imaging in general, it is basically free to take as many shots as I would like to get everything right. So I am a huge fan of doing everything possible to get that perfect shot in the camera. But we all experience problems. And Photoshop has been there to help us for a long time now - it is our digital darkroom. But Photoshop has also become the overriding term used to describe a level of photographic alteration that suggests outright misrepresentation. For sure - the amount of manipulation possible with Photoshop allows for complete control of every aspect of an image...even to the point of outright misrepresentation of what was originally captured by a camera. I don't like "Photoshopping" images, but Photoshop has helped me rescue images with unfortunate defects. I prefer to present my own photographs as unretouched as possible. But, for years now, I have found myself in a position where I need to have images that represent my work. I am a pastry chef - and I need to be able to illustrate my work on social media platforms. I have spent hours working through tutorials on how separate content in older versions of Photoshop and my own attempts have been frustrating. This new AI-infused copy of Adobe Photoshop Elements has a LOT of AI elements that are cute, but useless to me (correcting eyes and mouth in portraits, moving/removing objects, extending background). But there is a single smart element of this new release that makes this an incredible asset for me. Elements 2024 has an amazing ability to separate foreground from background. And as someone who would love to promote my bakery, I have been amazed by results. I'll post before/after pictures of three images below - where the only alteration in the "after" photo is a cropped image of the "before" image after Adobe was able to identify the subject and, per my command, blur the background. Each of the image transformations below took about 20 seconds total to generate - and, in each case, the subject is unaltered in Photoshop. I haven't spent much time with the other truly AI features of this release because I'm not looking to alter any of the primary information in my images. But as someone wanting to represent my craft authentically, I am grateful to Adobe for helping manage the periphery of my authentic images so beautifully. To be clear, the AI elements in this release supplement the extensive tools available in earlier releases of Photoshop. Photoshop has always been a powerful tool. The tools in this new release, for me, help you make content decisions that frequently feel psychic. To illustrate how simple and powerful this tool is, I will provide three before/after examples below - each one is blur background --> crop. I did the crop manually. Each transformation took 15-20 seconds, the selection of foreground and the blurring was Photoshop's. This might seem like an odd thing to repeat, but this single option allows me to make an amazing image out of anything I can place on ANY surface.

I have a YouTube channel so I use the full version of Photoshop all the time to create my thumbnails and pictures inside my videos. But I was curious if I could skip the monthly payment and just go with Photoshop Elements. While you don’t have all the features you do have the essentials. And with some creativity you can find alternatives to get what you want done. It certainly is nowhere near as robust but there is a lot to be had here. I won’t go through them all as that would take a long time. The biggest difference I saw was Elements is way more user friendly. The layout is simpler, a lot of things are automatic, and then you can fine tune afterwards. A lot of features are with simplicity in mind. Which isn’t to say that advanced things can’t be done or that advanced users won’t find a lot of value here. It has three main tabs (Basic, Guided, and Advanced). With Basic it slims down the options to the ones most people will be looking for and is mostly just click and it auto does most things for you. Guided is a wonderful tool. Where they give you a bunch of examples and then walks you through how to do that with some mild/moderate adjustments. You can do multiple guided sessions in a row on the same photo. This saves a ton of time as you don’t have to look up tutorials or learn how to do it yourself. My one complaint here is that it brings up the options on the right-hand side for you instead of actually showing you where they are located in the software itself. Making it useless as a learning tool. Last you have Advanced which gives you a lot of the options of the full featured Photoshop. But still slimmed down to the essentials. Where you have more freedom to get what you want done. As is true in the OG software you have options on the right side, left side, bottom, and top. Making it perfect for whatever level you are. As it serves nearly all demographics. This is perfect for YouTube, Twitch, Photography, Social Media or anyone who has the need to edit photos. As I’m constantly impressed at how easy Adobe and Photoshop makes complex things these days. Such as outlining a subject, background, or sky. While this wasn’t perfect all the time it is much easier than having to do it manually. As they have done a great job at taking a lot of the manual labor out and automating it giving you the same if not better results in significantly less time. Usually, for my thumbnails I’ll take a product and remove the background so it is the only thing in the shot. Add sharpen, contrast, change size, and position to make it pop. Then I’ll add a background with different colors and blur for better contrast. Add some text. The customizability options for text is extremely limited in Elements. So I had to use some creativity to get something similar. I then add a border around the photo (which I forgot to do for my example). Last, I adjust everything to be the right size and angle. Additionally, if needed I’ll brighten, darken, blur. All of which I was able to do in this software (except for the text). Additionally, you have full access to the Adobe Stock Photos. Which opens a lot of doors and I used for my examples.

There’s a reason why every time you hear the term “Photoshop” from someone who is talking about the latest social media post by some celebrity heart throb or cover photo of a swimsuit or lingerie model. It’s simply because Adobe has always been the industry standard and continues to set the bar when it comes to correcting and enhancing photos with their Photoshop software. They have made it so convenient, easy and user friendly to make anyone look like an unblemished super model. One of my favorite features of the new 2024 Photoshop Elements software is the quick action options that make it not only easy to apply but also quite fun. Even if you are an amateur photographer, the software has step-by-step instructions for simple editing or if you’re in a hurry, the quick tab offers smart fix, color correction, dehaze, red eye fix and even AI edits that can smooth skin, remove artifacts, add sky to a photo and change from color to black & white, and even vice versa, automatically with just the click of a button. You can erase unwanted distractions in your pictures, blur backgrounds, change colors, clips specific images within photos and replace the entire background, and the list goes on and on. Some of the features and editing options in the software are so intense that it’s almost like watching magic happen before your eyes. Playing with the feature that allows you to specifically select something in a picture, whether it be a person, an object, part of the landscape or background, and make it move within the picture. The AI functions are also quite fun to tinker with if you’re not into the insane list of features this software has to offer. I could literally spend hours messing with pictures and then seeing reactions and comments from our online followers is priceless. If you’re even remotely interested in photography, even if it’s just with your smart phone, there’s no excuse to not make the investment in Photoshop Elements in this day and age considering all it can do to enhance all those important pictures you have piled up in your digital photo albums.

I went from Photoshop 15 to 24 and absolutely love the new features. As this was recently purchased, I am still learning all there is to offer with the new version. As others have alluded, activating the product was a major hassle. Best Buy was helpful in exchanging the original copy for a new copy, ensuring it was activated on their end. I still had an issue activating so I finally contacted Adobe Support. Thankfully their support was helpful and was able to get my product activated.

I have used older versions of PhotoShop for years. I bought this just-released "elements" program on one of my rare trips to the "city" (I live way out in the boondocks) but I've been so busy I haven't tried it out yet. Based on my previous experiences with Adobe products, including InDesign, I have high hopes that I will find it highly useful.

Called Best Buy costumer service number because the code that came with photo shop was invalid. The hotline was useless. Brought to the store and the geek squad help as best they could and exchange photoshop for a new one. I ended up calling adobe on the weekday for hep and the problem was solved.
