Best UPS on the market for the money

We use UPS backups on all of our computers, and this is the best available for the money. The 900 VA allows plenty of time to shut down my system without worrying about a full system failure. IT also keeps everything running during those short 1 or 2 second power outages we see infrequently. I really like the newer vertical design as it takes up much less floor space. I have bought these before, and will continue to do so in the future.

I needed a UPS for my aquarium components (filters, air pumps, etc.), but needed it to be space efficient. The configuration of the outlets on top worked perfectly to where I needed to place the UPS. I've always had great experiences with APC and this UPS is no different.

This UPS works well as far as I can tell. I did not like that the battery had to be connected and there were serious warnings about not doing this alone. I had a Geek Squad person do it.

Thank you for taking the time to review our UPS. I am sorry to hear about the issues you are facing with the unit. The 3 year warranty would still be good on the unit if you save the receipt from when you purchased the unit. This way you will get the most out of the warranty on the unit. If you run into any issues with the unit please do not hesitate to reach out to an APCbySchneider support team. We offer email and chat services through our support site. I chose this UPS because you just can't beat the legendary reliability of APC (American Power Conversion). In my professional career I gained much experience with products manufactured by APC. It just seemed natural to want the same quality and dependability at home, the second unit that I have owned.
This UPS offers a generous, higher than most, amp hour battery which equates to longer run time when the power is out. Plenty of outlets are provided, some with wide spacing for plug in power cube supplies. This means that adjacent outlets are not covered by these bulky cubes. Also there are 3 outlets, not connected to back up power for less critical devices. But they are surge suppressor protected. Sensitive electronics are protected by this feature. There are ample outlets eliminating the need for additional power strips. Also there is a LED indicator that your home supply power is proper, no faults present like a missing ground connection. For Windows users, Power Shute software is provided along with an interconnecting cable to your computer to safely automatically power down your machine so your data is preserved. In summary: this is a fine quality UPS with a large capacity battery at a very affordable price point with a great warranty.

Provides battery backup and surge protection for 5 devices, and surge protection alone for 3 additional devices (the fewer the devices plugged in, the more time you have to rescue your files/equipment). I have router, modem, desktop, laptop, printer, two tablets and a phone (not all connected at once, although that would be possible). The only negative for me is the bright green glow from the power indicator, which Is as bright as a stobe at night and needs to be covered if I am to sleep. So far, no power surges or interruptions, so I can't comment on how it performs, but I'll bet the alarm will wake the dead. The unit is not too large for what it does, and the price is affordable. Users manual unerstandable. Nice!

I had a bigger unit that died after many years. I figured I could save money by getting a smaller unit that will give me less battery time, but enough to shut down the system. Surprised to find out that the actual battery time is much better than expected. Unit is compact too and good number of ports. Wish warranty would be better though.

I teach online and had my power go out twice in one week due to squirrels on the power lines. So I was unable to teach and therefore lost money. So I got this UPS and WOW its a life saver. It has my modem, computer and lamp plugged in. The next time the power went out in a storm, my teaching was not affected because the UPS kicked in and I was able to continue on with class. Highly recommend this product. I even have enough outlets to charge my phone and ipad at the same time as the others.

I bought this unit to back up my 46 inch led tv and cable box for intermittent power outages and surge protection . Unit works as advertised. Good for outages up to about 14 minutes for a 200 watt load . Haven't tried for the entire 14 minutes but worked for the few minutes that I tested it . I also bought one to back up my fios box that doesn't draw much power at all to keep the internet signal and tv single going . Gave this 4 stars until further testing.

This was my third purchase of an APC unit. The battery lasts about 5 years. I elected to purchase a new unit, not just the battery. About two weeks after my purchase we lost ac power and the unit kicked in right away. Set up is easy, and the directions are well written.

I had a bigger unit that finally failed after 5+ years. This little unit has more than enough juice to keep my desktop up and running so it can shutdown gracefully and protect from brownouts. One star off because I wish the warranty was longer.

I've had several power outages since purchasing and installing this uninterruptible power supply. Each time, the UPS took over flawlessly. The software is set up to shut down my computer in an orderly manner if power doesn't come back on. I plug my computer and monitor into the UPS's battery backup outlets, and other peripherals, such as my printer, into the surge-protected (but not battery-protected) outlets.

I really like this Battery Backup. APC is a trusted and reliable brand. I use it to back up my computer while working from home. I have two monitors, low profile Dell PC, headset, and Cell Phone charge plugged in and I get 50 minutes of run time. Way more than I was expecting. The only thing I wish is that it had a usb port for charging USB devices like the BVN900M1, but it is way more important for me to have the control USB port that connects to the PC to send the shutdown signal. Wish it had both though. I have already been through a few power outages and switching time is fast and unnoticeable. I have mine set on high sensitivity because of the computer I have plugged into it and within hours of setting it up, it was switching to battery ever so often. Found I had a bad wall socket that was causing noise and intermittent connection. Who knows what would happen to my pc if this wasn't catching those interruptions. At any rate, its well made and plugs fit snuggly in the sockets. Highly recommend.

Simple to use, what you see is what you get. Although it has a smaller battery capacity, it is a true back-up. You do not need to establish battery usage or restart. More expensive units shut down and you have to turn them on again to access the battery. Great product for the price

Based on the claimed backup, this is perfect for my modem and router if it really provides almost 6 hours of backup.
3 year warranty is good to have.
Very easy setup. Enough outlets are provided.
The design is very sleek. Wish the cord was a little longer. Whatever is provided wasn't enough for me atleast.

Improvement over older APC models - slimmer design works better under the desk. Software was easy to install and displayed current load on battery and estimated time remaining. Software can be configured to gracefully shut down connected devices.

Pro editing system in sometimes questionable power

I am growing a small business from home and my main source of work relies on my editing computer to reliable and working at all times. My area has had more than a fair share of power outages, surges and brownouts. I purchased this backup unit to be sure the system not only didn't take a surge hit but to keep it running long enough to shut down safely during an outage. Though I have not experienced any power failure since purchasing this unit, I am glad to have the sense of security it brings. I had previously purchased a smaller unit and it is keeping my modem and router running. I have had more than one outage since that unit was bought and it is great to be able to use my WiFi and high speed internet on my phone and tablet for hours during a blackout.

So far this UPS unit is doing it's job. We, for some reason, have power drops a lot and this has kept me going without issues. Have yet to test it out for a long power outage but think it will do just fine. This runs only my network equipment in the closet and so far my network has yet to go down causing any delays with my work. I work from home and this has done it's job nicely so far.
