Love this Monitor

Paired with his Alien Ware computer, this monitor is amazing. Absolutely no visible lag in action gaming. Brilliant color. Super contrast right out of the box. This is a great buy for gaming.

I have two of these baby and let me tell you what an upgrade. Has both hdmi and displayports available. In order to take advantage of the 144Hz that the monitor provides you have to make sure you plug them in with the displayport and then go into your settings and select 144hz. It not something that just happens by plugging in the displayport cable. Monitor features a 1 ms response time and 80,000,000:1 contrast ratio for ultrarealistic gaming visuals.

Word to the wise make sure to check refresh rates before purchasing for gaming pc setups. This monitor has 144hz refresh rate. Trust me, you can tell the difference. Also, it literally takes under a minute to come on. I believe my previous monitor was defective because it took over 10 minutes for it to find a source to connect to. With my Asus monitor it took also, infer 1 minute. I actually cried when I finally got it set up. I had a lot of misfortunes with my first gaming pc setup, but now I'm finally reaping the rewards. I love how the screen can be flipped vertically and you can adjust the angle for viewing. My one and only con to this monitor is the power cable is on the short side so, unless you have a surge protector, you need to be very close to a outlet. Otherwise, I am loving this baby! One final caveat, just do your research before purchasing your monitor. I promise it will save you heartache later.

Great monitor for all the fast action games we play, prices at $248. Also can check online for "open-box" certified,options to save $$ overall great video details, no lagging or shadowing, plays smooth like watching a 4k tv. Cant go rong for the price!!

- A:Answer It does not and honestly you need to use dvi connector to make use of the 144hz refresh rate. HDMI doesn't support that refresh rate.

- A:Answer DVI and Display Port can push higher resolutions. Display Port is overall the most ideal as it can support the higher refresh rates as well. Never use HDMI for PC gaming, its limited to 60hz. DVI will push 120/144hz, thats what Im currently using until my display port cable comes in the mail.

Q: Questiondoes anyone figure out how to get 144hz and 1080p? I tried dvi and I get 144hz , hdmi 1080p but 60hz., display port 1.2 gives 1080p native and 60hz OR 1920x1080 144hz but never both! called Asus 3 times and they are useless! each time different answer

- A:Answer 1920x1080 IS 1080p You can only choose one operating refresh rate at a time (60hz or 144hz etc.). HDMI maxes out at 60hz Displayport and DVI-D (DUAL LINK CABLE, not the one that comes in the box) will get you 1080p and higher resolution wise, and 144hz, so those would be your only options for 1080p 144hz

Q: QuestionBrightness of ScreenI was reading the consumer reviews, and found one where the brightness of the screen was too much for the individual. My understanding is that the brightness can be controlled with the monitor controls, but is the monitor so bright that even these can't lessen the overall brightness of the screen? Please advise, as I have very sensitive eyes, and won't be able to handle a super-bright screen.

- A:Answer I purchased this for my daughter who has epilepsy. And the adjustments this monitor has is as good as I have seen. It's refresh rate is amazing. And have no problem with adjusting brightness or any other adjustments on this monitor. It's a great investment. This is my second one I have purchased. I bought my son one a few years ago. And this newer one has so much more capabilities then the one just like it I purchased about two years ago now. I was amazed how much the technology changed in this new one compared to the same one from then.
